You can't beat the view from this riverfront restaurant. Dining al fresco on a warm summer night with the light breezes, this restaurant definitely delivers on atmosphere. The food was not my highlight, but the others seemed to enjoy their meal.
Immediately sat upon arrival, the server was asking what we wanted to drink before we even open the menus to look at what they offered. Being beer drinkers, they offer 2 draft and several bottled varieties. There is something for everyone on the diverse list. Beers delivered, the server recited a few specials for the evening. She walked away and returned 60 seconds later to take our order...again, a little too quick. I'm all about prompt service, but we didn't even have time to look over the menu and we were all talking. We ordered a "bread and dips" started for the table to share. It sounded like the perfect things to nibble on while enjoying the beers, view and company. When it arrived, I was a little surprised by the size for $21. I was a few pieces of bread and 3 small ramekins of dip...small. Delicious, but definitely not worth the price. It was more like a $9 (or less) starter. My entree choice was the Honey Baked Pumpkin Risotto. The description sounded great and I wanted to like it more, but I left the dinner feeling underwhelmed. The pumpkin wasn't cooked enough (sort of al dente) and the pieces were cut too large. I think maybe I was expecting more of a puree or smaller pieces.
The other 3 people liked their mains. The Striploin looked delicious and was cooked to my friend's liking. I also had a taste of the Duck Curry and the Grilled Chicken Tikka...both were good.
Overall, it was good and I would like to give it another try. The prices are a little high, but you're paying for the view from the prime waterfront location. read more
