I found the celebrant to be comforting and uplifting. The cantor sung beautifully and it was a sad, solemn occasion. My Uncle attended here regularly. It was only fitting that his funeral mass be celebrated here. The major drawback is the location. There is. Nowhere. To. Park. I ended up parking at the church across the street and hoping I wasn't going to be towed away. Thankfully I wasn't.

I was welcomed w/ a friendly greeting & helped to find a seat. The sermon was very interesting & related to my very problem I had @ the moment. God always knows what we need to hear. After the service everyone gathered around in the waiting room chating & drinking coffee & eating donuts provided by the Church. I felt like I was among longtime friends, as people came up to talk to me. There was even a man directing traffic out & in the parking lot for safety. I could not have asked for a better experience. I am anxiously waiting for this coming Sunday to enjoy another morning @ LCBC.

This historical marker is in front of the Peace Church of Mechanicsburg. It reads, "Present building erected in 1798 by a Reformed congregation. Half-interest obtained in 1806 by a Lutheran congregation; in joint use until 1866. Kept in its original form; used for special services." Also known as Die Frieden Kirche, this historic Lutheran church is a 2 1/2 story limestone building with a five-bay front and three-bay sides. The interior (which I did not see) features a wine glass pulpit, balcony on three sides and the organ was built in 1807. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.
