Note on your initial consultation visit how she talks about not asking the child what's happening, not mentioning what's going on in the therapy sessions (which are ostensibly closed - parents watch 25 year old outdated VHS tapes in a separate room during the sessions). That's because NOTHING's OCCURRING. Your child plays, Trudy feeds him/her candy (abundantly - and it's scary to think that such is the way she's gaining trust/admittance to the child) and then Trudy spews out a few non-sensical platitudes on her way to collect the check from you. Hefty check at that. You get no real feedback or assessment -- even if you ask for it. She books appointments so closely together that she's fried and frayed and rushes you and your child out of her facility at the end. Listen to her offputting/superior answering machine message. It's a litany of what you can and cannot do. Try to email her (about scheduling - in our case, she couldn't find a slot for us and was supposed to call during the week but never did) and you get a downright nasty (and inappropriate) response from her husband. Who the heck is he? I'm sure this review will be removed by Yelp as their filtering is horrendous but if I can help only one concerned parent (and if you're going for play therapy, clearly, you're concerned about your child) . . .

I will not go into detail, but suffice it to say that Trudy Post Sprunk has been beyond good working with my teen. I cannot comment on her play therapy approach which is one of her specialties, but I can attest to the positive results my teen has achieved as a result of her general counseling talents. Yes, she is incredibly busy. Yes, she is pricey since she does not take health insurance, however, in my opinion she is worth every penny. Trudy was recommended to me by a friend and I had one of my friends (who is also a counselor) look into her background and credentials. I was told she is "the real deal" and our experience has certainly borne that out as well. I highly recommend her.

I saw him individually and for my marriage at the time. Most people that I talk to about counseling saw" what do I saw"? There is no script you need to say to your counselor. In my very 1st session, I cried for 30 plus minutes because I was in so much pain about my marriage heading for divorce. I was all over the place with my thoughts. Each time I went, I got better with crying in most of my sessions. Dr. Kola was patient and kind in letting me take my time to get to the root of my thoughts and feelings. Dr.Kola, by far, is one of the best counselors I have ever had. This is his calling. In 2021, I still see him, and now it became a family thing. My 23-year-old is seeing him also. His insight, encouragement, and mentorship will be a part of our lives until he decides to retire. We might still try to bother him in his retirement.
