Cover Ups Design began as a custom drapery specialist in 1993, serving interior designers in the Mat-Su Valley. Within 10 years, owner Teresa Roy recognized that she could serve homeowners directly with more than custom draperies, and the business expanded to include all window coverings including blinds, shades, and shutters. Teresa and her dedicated team of professionals quickly built a reputation of providing quality products with unparalleled customer care. That reputation helped Cover Ups Design secure an exclusive window fashions kiosk in a major warehouse membership-only club, as well as installation services for a major home improvement chain. With that, Teresa and her team began serving the entire state of Alaska. No location is too remote, and they often travel by boat, small plane & even snowmachine to reach customers. Today, Teresa and her team continue their dedication of providing homeowners with the expertise and experience to solve any window covering challenge.

Meet the Business Owner: Teresa R.

I'm Teresa Roy, founder and owner of Cover Ups Design. My mom taught me how to sew at a very young age, and when the fabric store that I managed closed their doors in 1993, I saw an opportunity to put my sewing skills to work (and be home to raise my children). Cover Ups Design was born. I specialized in sewing custom drapes for interior designers. From their specs, I created drapes that provided the finishing touch to a living space. A good window covering specialist is, at heart, a good problem solver. Working with interior designers honed my skills and abilities to look at a window and know exactly what treatment would work. With that knowledge and experience I expanded the product line beyond custom drapes, taking advantage of innovative designs and materials. I realized I couldn't do it all myself, so the Cover Ups Design team expanded with designers and installers. While the business continues to grow, one thing remains the same: our dedication to you, our customer.
