Everyone made us feel welcome during a stressful time. The clinic was spotless, and we were especially touched to see a personalized welcome sign with our pet's name. It was such a thoughtful gesture that made us feel cared for from the moment we arrived. We truly appreciate the excellent care and outstanding customer service.

UPDATED AFTER CAH OWNER REACHED OUT TO ME…read more We faithfully took 3 dogs and 4 cats to this clinic over the last 13-15 years, but due to high charges and a rotating staff of veterinarians resulting in a fractured continuity of care, we have moved on. It feels very corporate now, though I should make it clear I was incorrect in my previous belief CAH was bought out by private equity and/or now has an executive board to answer to. I am glad to know that isn't the case and that vets are salaried (not paid commission or how many patients they see), but regardless, the feel of the office has decidedly changed to a less personal, attentive experience. Prices were high before but are outrageous now. Neutering a male kitten--a very quick and simple procedure--is nearly $400, and that's *just* the neuter; adding the pre-neuter exam, microchip and other related procedures and prep add a couple hundred more. Spaying a large breed dog was nearly $800, which floored me. Many clinics offer much lower spay/neuter services to encourage responsible pet ownership and reducing the pet population, so these prices I find exceptionally egregious. In contrast, our new vet neutered, microchipped, examined, and gave the first round of shots to our kitten for $300, and I was told spaying a large dog would have cost us no more than half CAH's charge. The quote we received for our dog's teeth was ranged from $1100-2600 (and we had previously paid $2000+ for our old dog's teeth here); new vet did a wonderful job on the same dog's teeth for $700 and said the highest they ever charge for dental is $800 in cases where all or nearly all teeth are pulled. I just referred a friend who was quoted $3000+ for her cat's dental to my new vet--he did it for $750. When our geriatric dog had an issue with her eye, we took her to CAH 3 times and saw at least 2, if not 3, vets, leading to a continuity of care issue where one vet was unaware of what the others had done. Ultimately, they said they couldn't do anything to help her and recommended we take her to a canine eye specialist in Pasadena or Alhambra. We asked if the eye could just be removed, and was told no--we needed to see the specialist first. CAH in essence washed their hands of our dog's case. Outside of the impracticality of those locations and the frustration of not getting help from the vet, an exam at those locations is $300 just to walk in the door; the procedure she ended up needing would've run $3000, and that's without the additional testing that would be necessary before the procedure. In contrast, our new vet recognized almost instantly what was going on with her eye, knew what procedure was needed, and did it himself for under $400. He was safe and accurate in his treatment and this procedure ended the constant problems that had us coming back to CAH 3 times. More than the money, we feel the new vet is personally invested in our animals' care and we feel secure knowing he is looking out for them, and us; this has decidedly not been the case at CAH the last few years we were there. I am unsure what is happening behind the scenes to have caused this change leading to a rotating staff of vets and sky high pricing, but we decidedly did not feel like we were receiving premium care for the platinum-level prices we had to pay, and this is why we left. In fact, we have been receiving far more attentive and effective care for about 30% of the cost at the new office. The vets at CAH do genuinely care, but as employees, they have limited autonomy. I recommend everyone find a smaller, private practice vet office owned and run by the vet themselves. You get MUCH more attentive, personal care, at a fraction of the cost.

We've done all of their vaccines, microchipping, and most recently their neutering, and everything has always been such a smooth process. I recently had a little scare after they ate something they weren't supposed to. I called and was able to bring them in right away, and Dr. Jeong gave me so much peace of mind. She's been seeing the boys since the beginning and is absolutely fantastic with them. They love her so much, and I always feel like they're in safe hands with her! As a chronic worrier, I especially appreciate how reassuring she is. She even followed up multiple times afterward to make sure the boys were doing okay, which meant so much to me. Some of the staff even remember the pups when we come in and are always so sweet and loving toward them. I'm so grateful we found Healthy Paws. Thank you for taking such great care of my boys!

Dr Han is the best veterinarian I have ever met as he is super friendly, truly caring, very knowledgeable, experienced and will take whatever time is necessary in order to answer all pet owners questions. Dr Han called me twice on my personal cell phone during the treatment period and after being given three medications simply to check on my dog's progress. Who does that ?? No one but Dr Han and that's the reason why everyone respects and admires this doctor. I am so glad that Healthy Paws Animal Hospital has become our number one animal care provider for our two Yorkies.

Dr. Phillip and Nurse Terry displayed unrivaled levels of patience and understanding when dealing with my traumatized dog, Harvey (lab mix). They took their time explaining and offering solutions that best suited our situation, and Harvey left properly taken care of for the very first time in 10 years. The relief and joy they brought me in such a stressful situation is something that I never thought possible prior to this experience. Ricky (shiba) is always easy to handle, but I'm so happy to have finally found a clinic who truly puts the care and effort into handling all dogs. My initial phone call requesting a quote for the procedure left me surprised and satisfied with the information provided by the friendly clinic staff member over the phone. I was quoted a price that was $225.00 less than that of the previous lowest-priced quote I had received from three other veterinary clinics. Could it be too good to be true was my original thought. This price included lab/blood work, the actual procedure, recovery period at the clinic, and medication. Unlike at any other clinic, which charges a separate fee for bloodwork that must be done days before the procedure, all required bloodwork here was to be completed on the same day as the procedure. Feeling comfortable, I scheduled an appointment to have the procedure done here. Upon arriving at the clinic, I was pleasantly surprised at how large and clean the exterior and interior of the clinic were, as everything appeared to be well maintained. The staff members immediately welcomed me to the clinic and checked me in. The entire staff is extremely friendly, outgoing, supportive, and professional. While waiting to be called in, several other pet owners walked in with their pets to be treated, while others walked out with their pets appearing satisfied with the service they had received. Side note: This is a very popular and busy clinic, yet the personalized service provided to each visitor was top-notch. I waited less than ten minutes before my wife and I were called in and escorted to a room with our dog. After I had been seated in the room for less than three minutes, Dr Bory and one of his assistants entered and introduced themselves to my family. They both took a seat on the extremely clean and polished floor with crossed legs. I found this action surprising, yet it put my family and me at ease as the doctor and his assistant were closer to our dog, which seemed to put her at ease. This action of sitting on the ground also made the doctor and his assistant feel friendly, compassionate, and truly caring for our dog. I might add that the examination table in the room was up against the wall, as the doctor advised he uses the table as needed and prefers to sit on the ground to be at eye level with family pets. This was very cool. The doctor allowed us as much time as needed to ask questions, and his responses were very informative and educational. Dr Bory explained the procedure and recovery process. Dr Bory was easy to understand, very friendly, a great listener, and went out of his way to make us feel comfortable and at ease. Feeling satisfied, we left our dog and six or seven hours later, I received a call that our dog was ready to be picked up. Three days later, our dog, while wearing the cone around her neck, is doing great, playing with her brother, and is back to her loving and playful nature while recovering perfectly. Dr Bory and his entire staff are to be commended for a very positive and friendly experience. We are truly thankful for the AMAZING and professional service we received during our visit. Thank you!

My Frenchie was having her first litter, and things became very chaotic very quickly. On the way to the hospital, she had her first puppy right there in the front seat of my truck! When we arrived, I called to let them know what was happening, and they were kind enough to come outside and help bring her and her newborn puppy inside. From that moment on, I felt like she was in good hands. The staff was incredibly welcoming, gentle, and compassionate. They knew how to keep me calm without overwhelming me with how serious her C-section was. I was scared and had so many questions, but someone was always there to explain the process and talk me through what was happening. There was honestly no wait time, they took her in right away. I also really appreciated how comfortable they made me feel discussing the cost of everything. I never felt pressured or like I was being pushed to make a decision based on money. Everything was explained clearly, and I felt respected throughout the entire experience. My Frenchie is now home recovering, and I'm so grateful to everyone who took care of her and her puppies. This review has taken me some time to post because it has been a difficult situation to process. We…read moretook our 6 year old otherwise healthy Labradoodle in due to extreme lethargy and swelling. Intake was fine, but that was the only part of the experience that was. Our dog was taken away for testing and we were left to fill out paperwork. While we were doing that, another patient was trying to make payment for their dog's sudden euthanasia. His card was not working and he was offering alternate ways to pay with no real help or feedback from reception. He felt a bit panicked...his significant other was crying in the exam room while the fact that his card declined had become a very public discussion in the lobby. While we were there an owner came in with a dog that had been hit by a car and another owner came in with a pet with a snake bite. Both were visibly rattled. I had to help one of the owners fill out the intake paperwork, as no help was offered. While we have a dog being put to sleep in one room, two frantic owners in the lobby, and me anxiously awaiting test results, the two people at the front desk talked about their weekend plans and laughed. This went on the entire time I was in the lobby. We were taken to an exam room. The doctor could not pull up the xray images. After waiting for some time, my nerves were frazzled and I ask that she simply dictate what she found, as we did not need visuals. She denied my request and left for 15-20 minutes while trying to figure out how to get the results sent to the correct computer. That wait was horrible as we had absolutely no clue as to what was going on. She finally returned and told us that there was an issue with our dog's spleen and that the surgery would be $8,000 and "probably not worth it." The other options were to take her home and simply wait for natural death, take her home with Chinese herbs that would help death come sooner but not ease the pain, or put her to sleep. At that time I asked my husband to bring our children down to say goodbye. Understand, that morning we left for work with a perfectly healthy (so we thought) 6 year old dog and this decision was absolutely unexpected. After waiting an eternity, the tech came in and administered the medication that caused her breathing to slow and eventually stop. We never saw the doctor after our decision was made. No one offered condolences or their expressed regret that we had such a heavy experience. In fact, though there were signs on two doors that said "please be quite, someone is saying goodbye to a loved one" we walked out with red, swollen faces to staff still cracking jokes behind the desk. It felt surreal. Sometime later a voicemail was left letting me know her remains were ready for pick up. Before I could call back, they placed a second call. Quite frankly, I wasn't ready to take that call knowing what it was about, but I answered. The person on the other end was very matter of fact and ended the conversation saying that if I don't come by the end of the week my dog's remains would "be disposed of." Mind you, this is the first time their office ever talked to me...it isn't like months or even weeks had passed since I was given this information. Additionally, my dog's cremation was a service that I paid several hundreds for. To act like they were doing some favor by holding her 5" x 7" box in their office until I could pick her up was unacceptable and cruel. Over the years I have had many pets that passed and I have never, ever experienced such treatment. I, unfortunately, have to drive by this location daily and every time I do I think back to the poor treatment we experienced from the time we checked in until we picked up our dog's remains. I write this as a word of caution because I would genuinely hate for another pet loving family to ever experience this.
