Initially when we…read morestarted our daughter there, communication from the principal was good and the care provided by the teachers was decent. Things really started going downhill when Jessica took over as principal. We started noticing the updates through Procare were few and far between, and when asked for updates from the teachers at pick up we got minimal info... so we started resorting to watching the cameras that were made available to parents. At this point we started noticing our daughter (and many other kids) were not being offered drinks for breakfast - this was noted on MULTIPLE occasions. My husband and I reached out to the front desk numerous times to voice this concern to assure our daughter is offered drinks, and after progress was not being made we reached out to Jessica via email. The email was ignored, so my husband spoke with her one day at pick up to request a meeting - at the meeting we expressed our concerns of drinks not being offered, she assured us this wasn't true and diminished our concerns. We pleaded for her to look at the camera footage, but I don't believe this was ever done. We also expressed our concerns that Procare had been down for a month and paper charting wasn't being done. She gave some false promises that she would talk to the teachers and assure this is being done here forward and said there was nothing they could do about Procare being down. The coming few weeks we received maybe two paper charts with Procare still being down. The final straw was when we brought our daughter home and noted that she has a diaper rash and un-wiped leftover stool on her legs and peri area. This was shocking because our daughter is 2 years and potty training, and hasn't had a diaper rash since she was a newborn... and this happened in a matter of 8 hours at daycare. We pulled her from Kids R Kids that day, reached out to the regional director to voice our concerns, who was so apologetic and wonderful. She did inform us that Procare was only down maybe 3 days, and not the 1-2 months that Jessica led us to believe... so just another wild thing to add to the list of concerns. Overall I would NEVER recommend this daycare to anyone under the care of Jessica and the toddler room teachers (aside from Miss Helen, who was very kind and caring) they have no accountability and don't take parents concerns seriously. Please think twice before sending your child here.

My son was born a few months before Covid hit and so I was very nervous about his first preschool experience. The Gardner school made it so easy and enjoyable for him! I especially loved that all meals are included in tuition, and the teachers were helpful with potty training. This school is very clean and tidy, and I was very satisfied with the safety precautions they have in place (locked front doors, code required for check-in/out). My son loved the themed classrooms/hallways and the staff were so friendly and kind. My job situation changed soon after my son started at the school but the staff were very understanding and we were so sad to go.

The Growing Place has changed our perspective towards child care and early learning development as well as far surpassed our expectations as parents who were apprehensive to keep him in a daycare environment. Clean, secure, organized, bright, cheerful and with a smart layout containing classrooms, a cafeteria, and play area, The Growing Place is aesthetically pleasing for children and parents alike. It feels more like a school and less like a place to drop your kids to hang out while you're at work. I love the cleanliness of the facility. They stress the children should be washing their hands frequently. At his former facility, he was sick ALL THE TIME. He has had one runny nose during his first month at The Growing Place. ONE. Incredible. Potty training is going so smooth and they are helping him learn each day instead of giving him set times to be changed or use the toilet. The pricing is absolutely fair, as well. I'm excited to see how he continues to grow and learn. He's so happy to go to school now and so excited to see me and show me what he's accomplished every day. Instead of running to me in fear at the end of the day, begging to go home, he stays and says goodbye to his friends and teachers and shows me his drawings or crafts he's completed that day. The updates via SchoolVine are an excellent bonus and I feel like they truly pay attention to each child as an individual. Needless to say, we are so happy with The Growing Place!

But I think that might have been different if I'd gone to Grandview Elementary. It's a small urban school. It sits on a bluff in Bellevue overlooking the city and the Cincinnati skyline. Wonderful. But even with the blinds drawn and the view obscured, it'd be a great school. The teachers seem to care. No one gives me the impression of clocking time; of winding down until summer vacation hits or a juicy public employees pension can be tapped. Here's what sold me on the school: My oldest went to kindergarten there. We were unhappy with it. From first grade through fourth, my daughter went to Catholic schools. Because of several problems there, we decided it was time to move on. I called several schools and on a lark called Grandview. The principal that was just starting her first year when my daughter was in kindergarten now had several years to reshape the school. What caught my attention though was she still remember my daughter, her interests, and her hobbies...and my too-young-for-school daughter's name. And me and my wife. That's a level of attention paid that we still find permeating the school. This is an urban school with too much poverty and young, broken families, but the school offers those kids and all kids a chance. It's one I wish I had had a chance to go to.

The thing to keep in mind with Grandview is that you aren't just getting a great school--you are getting a great community and a true neighborhood school. We are able to walk to any number of our friends and neighbors homes for gatherings, and it's a regular occurrence for us to be walking down the street and my son to see his classmates (and even teachers and staff). Bellevue's walkability, community garden, community potlucks, and a closeness we had formed with some residents and young families here, are literally the reasons why we were strongly considering moving from Fort Thomas to Bellevue. Then, when we met members of the Board of Education and Robb Smith, the superintendent, we were sold. Grandview's staff has been nothing but supportive of the kids I've seen coming and going, from Daphne (the crossing guard) knowing each kid by name, to Mrs. Young and Mr. Fuller high fiving and greeting each kid coming in with a smile and/or high five. We're glad we made the jump, and look forward to many more years of our family being Tigers. #ChooseBellevue

They also have the means to help and make people beg just to tell them basically you have to be spending money in that semester to get assistance to come back. I had Javance Sinclair tell me basically oh well you might go homeless if you make it to next semester then I might help you. You'll have to beg again though. I was looking to continue education with these people after my bachelors but I wouldn't dare. This school is sad. Charge all this money and can't help the people that ask for help.

I graduated from NKU just a few months ago with my bachelor's in biology and I already miss it so…read moremuch! Each of my professors were so kind and supportive in my education journey. I made so many friends as well. Even my academic advisors and mentors were extremely helpful throughout my four years. I would recommend this school to anyone. Norse up!
