Lock and load everyone, it's 'laser' time!!…read more Oh yeah, you want a place where you can run around and shoot lasers? This is the place to go! I made a booking the day before and had to pay half as a deposit to secure my place. We arrived and unfortunately I couldn't get my deposit back for the missing peeps but we were refunded through the power of them dodgems, which will be used at a later date. We couldn't get on them as they were empyting the coins in the cars. Meh! Anyhoo back to them lasers. We were suited and booted with our packs, we were the green team. Didn't think I'd ever say this but 'Mon the greens!' We were allowed to put our jackets 'n' shiz where the packs where hanging. We got a brief rundown then we were let loose. So zap zap, pow pow!! Where's the weans 'till we shoot them?! Och no they're on our team. Damn! The blues and reds were getting really competitive, we all heard them say 'kill the greens'. Oooft! We had two games, which last 20 minutes each. The reds had sussed out the layout at bit more and there is mezzanine level. They hid up there, had tactics and were zapping us to bits. Grrr I got my mean 'Arnie face' on now. It was such a great wee evening and was a fab start to some birthday shenanigans. I miss having Laser Quest in the town, shame the cooncil took it over. Boo!! It is a bit out of town at Xscape, handy if someone is driving, although there is plenty of buses that can get you there. I highly reccommend though if you fancy doing something a wee big different. Good for kids and especially us big kids. Zap zap!!!

A perfect activity for wee kids, big kids and kids at heart, this laser tag arena is medium sized…read moreand has the advantage of being based at Soar at Intu Braehead. So, should you get bored of shooting your friends with lasers, there's a lot of other options nearby for more entertainment. Games cost ~£6 each for 20 minutes and you put down a 50% deposit when you book ahead. It's possible (but generally more expensive) to book out the full arena just for you and your mates but that's not really necessary. They'll just group together whoever shows up and it usually works out just fine. Then you get your laser gun and a backpack style thingy with a bunch of sensor on it. If you get shot one of these sensors detects it and your opponent gets some points. You can also get points by shooting the stationary "base stations" hidden around the arena. Expect lots of giggling and sneakiness to the accompaniment of sci-fi movies theme tunes (think The Matrix or Ghostbusters). It's a lot of fun and I'd definitely come back here. I wish they had proper lockers for you to store your stuff (at the moment you just leave it in the equipment room) but that's the only thing I can think of that could be improved.
