The owner did not say a word to us and just walked away! The owner who I think is now the mayor of Gallup is totally unprofessional and a bit prejudice in my opinion - I say this because he had this outdoor mural on the side of his shop that was in poor taste on the chose to represent the American Indian in that mural. I don't know who painted and I don't know if it's gone now but good grief we are in 2021 and he still thinks it's okay to depict American Indians in the color red than say the color tan and the American Indian was wearing buckskin ~ get outta here dude - he has not learned the appropriate way to depict American Indians and has been living in Gallup for more than a few decades! He has an outsider attitude and still has not embraced unity. At any rate he's inability to even acknowledge us as customers really changed my thoughts on the character of this person who is now the mayor! Can't wait until he is voted out of office. My father and I came in looking for old pawn jewelry and just some jewelry in general to buy. Many years ago we previously bought from Shi'ma Traders. We always had great service and purchased quality jewelry pieces. I guess those days are long gone. The young woman working there didn't even acknowledge us with a simple hello, and we were the only ones in the store. That should have been a warning sign right there. I looked through a small basket of sale items, none of which I was looking for. She never said a word other than to answer "no" when I asked if she had anymore old pawn items other than in the case. This one is kinda one I'd pass on, but I can't give any less than 3 stars because they always have great staff and the company itself is a great company. This one I'd pass on because it doesn't seem to really put out great stuff. The sections I personally frequent and consider the most potential of having great finds I think lack at this store and it seems the clothes in general is clothes most people would probably pass on.
