Hi, James can go to hell. He is the worst employee I've ever met. I've never faced such disrespectful attitude/demeanour. This man needs to be re-evaluated in his work ethic. I am not impressed; he has no personable traits nor professional relations. My son and his friends had to leave their coats behind in the middle of winter because James wouldn't let them retrieve them. My son had a flight to catch at 8pm today and he is not allowed to get his jacket until 7pm. I feel like I can't give it a bad review or a good review. I still can't believe I even went to Cowboys as it was a point of pride that I had never entered its doors. Mainly I detest the concept of this place on principle, so let me be objective in my review. A bachelorette was planned and I was on the guest list, so to Cowboys we went. Little did we know it was 1) student night and 2) a glow party. Our attempt to make the bride feel special while we all wore black and her all in white complete with tutu was ruined as everyone in the bar was wearing white and we were repeatedly asked why we were all wearing black. I wish I could say the bride was at least the only one in a tutu, but she couldn't even have that. So student night is 75 cent draft night at Cowboys, you can buy a thimble of beer for 75 cents. woohoo. What beer is it? I do not know and was too scared to try. A big thank you to the Cowboys staff though, as we had booked the bachelorette in advance so we got in with no cover (though we had to be there before 9, I think typical of the club environment). We were greeted by Austin (I think that was his name!) who gave us a warm welcome, a bag of some bacherloette themed goodies (penis straws! :O) and bought us a round of drinks. The place was empty, except for some international students who asked us if we went to MRU. "uhhh...I graduated from MRU four years ago." So the makeup of the cowboys audience is 18 year olds, then a Flames home game ended, so Flames fans (25-30) arrived. It was weird when the DJ played a song about being 22, when I am pretty sure most people there were not even 20. Some of the girls in our stagette were upset that no country was played. This I was ok with cause I would rather stab rusty forks through my eyes then listen to country music. I didn't venture into the dance hall bathrooms, but the bathrooms just outside Cowboys in the casino portion were very nice. Beer tub girl short changed me and then I tipped her a $1. Go my mental math skills! So, would I go back to Cowboys? No. Was it as dirty as I thought it would be? No, it was pretty clean. If you want to go clubbing, and want the model club experience, Cowboys is for you. I felt too old and married to be there. read more

My friend had a free extra vaucher ticket to go to the Cowboys tent with brunch included which was worth $50. And there would be live bands. I accepted the offer. However I was running late and I rushed there with my bike. Once I got there with my downloaded ticket on my phone, I locked and parked my bike. They wouldn't accept backpacks inside the tent. So they made be walk across to block to go to the cowboys casino check my back pack for $4. After I did that, walked back towards the tent waited in line while my friend was there. Once I get inside, they had a massive line up to grab brunch which was a 2 hour line up. Luckily I found a sneaky short line up which took 5 minutes. After I got to the food tables, it turns out we had to pay $15 extra brunch which was like food which turned out to be like stampede breakfast food. I thought there was a mistake, which was include. They told me to go out in the front confirm my ticket for brunch. It turns our tickets didn't include brunch. And drinks are expensive to. I found my friend told him our tickets didn't include. The fact that I had to put up with the hassle at Cowboys turned out to be such a fiasco. They were about to have a show there. Me and my friend had a$10 coors light beer there and decided to leave, grab lunch somewhere else and come back, but it turned out there was no re-entry and it would be $50 to re-enter. It was so crowded there. What a fucking joke Cowboys is. Especially during Stampede. We decided to leave and not want anything to do with this money grabbing trashy establishment like Cowboys anymore. I'm appalled by this. I feel like Cowboys and is a place where people go to blow their money and make Calgary look embarrasing. read more

One of my top 3 favourite clubs in Calgs! I like it for the country music, the drink specials and the friendly staff. I always have a good time when I go out here with my girls especially on ladies night to see the canadian playboyz lol! It's also a plus how its right outside of the stampede train station. Cowboys is really one of the best clubs to go and dance. Huge floor, decent crowd and good music. Why am I rating it so low? The bartender I had (Casey according to the name tag) short poured me so hard I don't think the alcohol even made it to the shot glass. After giving me my "nearly virgin" vodka water he then had the audacity to tap his tip jar. Shady (greedy) bartenders like this really ruin the whole Cowboys experience/reputation for me. On the flip side the next bartender I had (Andrew) was fast and fair. Still. I can't shake the bad taste the other bartender left in mouth (and the taste was not alcohol). read more

The Cowboys tent is the place to be during Stampede. Arrive early before the rodeo is out, or be prepared to wait in line or pay a hefty price to skip it! I was at the tent this year for a corporate Stampede party. Good food, plenty of outdoor seating areas, and fast service. I wasn't willing to pay $100 to get in on a Saturday night, but I would consider planning ahead next year and buying advance tickets to avoid the hassle of the long lines. I have not been in the bar since it moved to the Casino, but I'm sure it's as much fun as the Penny Lane location was many years ago! read more

Not nearly as many fights or altercations as knoxville's (IMO and from what i've seen) and it's pretty clean actually. They always have something cool going on. usually a younger douchey crowd. personally it's my fav club in calgary. sometimes they play country and sometimes they don't. not sure what determines it. the line dancing is so so fun!!! read more

Great location, Great club, and Great DJ, but the guys that come out there are really CREEPY! I mean, my friend was drunk and several east Indians kept hitting on her even after she said NO! GO AWAY! Ladies stand up for yourself and just say NO! And be firm about it! I almost felt like the bouncers should have stepped in and done something about it at one point as these guys seem aggressive sometimes - to the point it appeared as harassment. These guys do prey on drunk girls and you can't miss them - you'll know when you see them! Keep your purse/wallets belongings close to you. Personally, I don't trust anyone who doesn't have integrity! (FYI: one of our friend who works there told us that these guys do come to cowboys often on the weekends - back to back, so be cautious) Aside from the creepy experience, everything else seems cool - great friendly staff, clean. I think drinks were reasonably priced considering it is the casino - more than other bars/clubs though. Everyone else seemed to have a chill vibe. I had a really great time! The bar staff and girls on the beer tubs were all super friendly and welcoming, and the average age of the crowd has gone up since the last time I visited the dancehall so it's not solely 18 year olds anymore. Ive went to a couple drag events here in the past year and they are extremely LGBTQ+ friendly and offered a safe space for everyone attending! Would definitely recommend going if you haven't, great drink specials with 75cent draft on thursdays and I believe they still do $3 drinks on saturdays if I'm not mistaken and an even better experience interacting with the staff! read more

I clearly told her what drink I wanted and she made me the wrong thing when I told her I'm sorry that's not what I ordered she mumbled bitch or something rude under her breathe and handed off the drink to someone for free !!! honestly disgusting. the male bartenders are so rude and carry such a ego. i can't explain my whole personal experience that i had, but i'd go out to cowboys twice a week and never skip a beat and the way one male bartender treated me this one night had me never return to cowboys for 3 years. i'd actually go out my way to go get my drinks at his bar because he gave me the best service and i was a regular, you know how that goes. i'm taking a snap of my shot and my camera flash goes of on him and he pauses everything he's doing and yelled at me in such a belittling way. i was definitely super intoxicated but even then i felt so embarrassed and also filled w anger that this grown man embarrass me in public like that. i was super uncomfortable and decided to leave..... this happened 3 years ago. and it still doesn't sit well with me. f cowboys u guys are literally only good for stampede..... also a second review of mine on ur female bartenders wondering if we had the same bar tender (this is a reply to another's review)..... i asked for 2 waters please.... she gave me her ear again implying that she didn't hear me so i repeated.. two waters. she steps back and says to me "Please?!" and pours the waters. what a hassle. gives them to my girl friend and tells her to tell me to use my manors ... Wife and I stopped by here with two friends, mainly because our friends were on the prowl and looking to meet dudes. Well, unless you are under 25 (we are far from it), this is not your scene. We arrived around 9pm and the place was mostly empty, except for about a dozen young women watching a male stripper (who does not go full monty). Went to the bar to get some drinks, where you are served by busty women in skimpy outfits -- something for everyone. Pretty soon a Calgary Flames game ended and within minutes the place was packed, and the music got louder and louder and louder until you couldn't hear yourself think. The crowd was all 19-25, a mix of people in casual clothes and Calgary flames jerseys, and a few women in their finest skank nightclub outfits. By the way, there have been several violence incidents at this club. Just Google "Cowboys Dance hall" and "murder" or "attack". Will NOT return. read more

I've never had such a terrible experience at a bar. To start with the bouncers asked to see a second piece of ID. Understandable. I proceeded to do so with no questions. They still didn't believe so they tested my signature 3 times. Again didn't believe me so one of the bouncers proceeded to stare at me for about five minutes comparing my picture to me. Finally they tell me I need to bring more ID in and something with another photo like a school ID card. I didn't argue I obliged and went back to the vehicle and brought in more secondary pieces of ID. I understand that they have to be cautious when they think someone's ID may not be them but then They accept a school ID card from 2014 but wouldn't accept my secondary pieces of ID with my actual signature on them. What if I didn't happen to have old school ids on me. And only more secondary pieces with no photo. I wouldn't be as upset except for the fact that the time they wasted staring at me caused for me to be late on our guest list. When they could have just told me hey can you please just run out and get a few more pieces of ID... as I actually got into the nightclub all staff members that I had encountered within the entire ten minutes I was there was extremely rude and impolite. I know you can't expect the best service at a busy club but this was just ridiculous. Me and my friends Will not be returning. Extremely displeased. read more
