She is manipulative and will make it seem as if you are being abusive to her even if you're just expressing your frustration. We got their "courtesy officer" on the phone and he told us he couldn't help us and then hung up. Maybe the most unprofessional situation I've ever dealt with regarding an apartment complex.

She and her staff are friendly and attentive to problems, and she runs a tight ship when tenants are sloppy or careless.. The trash compactor area and recycling are much better though I am stunned at the amount of trash the complex produces, and more people seem to be picking up after their dogs (though I can't fathom why everyone doesn't). I was dealing with Abbie at the front desk during all of this and I called her the next day to ask if it would be okay if I handed in my key and fully moved out Saturday June 3 and she said yes no problem at all. I got to my apartment on June 2 to pick up the rest of my items and a few of my personal items were outside my door, the front door was unlocked and 95 percent of my personal items inside that I had left were gone. When I told the front desk girls, they truly acted as though it was no big deal and were disgustingly dismissive and told me to call the manager on Monday. Monday Tabitha told me maintenance threw my stuff out because they thought I had moved out because Abbie never communicated that I had until the 3rd ( which I was paying for ). To make a very long story short Tabitha started to find some of my things that were supposedly thrown out even though me and her checked the dumpsters. Maintenance stole my stuff. Went through my stuff and took what they wanted. Since then I've gotten about 60 percent of my stuff back. The rest of it is gone. Hawthorne thinks it's good enough that they didn't make me pay rent up until the day the new residents moved in and gave me back my cleaning fee I pre payed for. Corporate is a joke. Hawthorne's staff can't be trusted on any level. I lived here 3 years and the day I moved in my air conditioner was broken and it was in July and they didn't notice. My air conditioner broke consistently every month for the first year I was there. Don't be blinded by their claims of luxury living when the staff are thieves.

The rental unit we were provided with through another company was absolutely horrific and roach infested, so I was frantically calling around to any and all rental companies in the area to find another rental to get us out of our hell hole. All of the staff I spoke with after explaining our situation and the need to book immediately were very helpful, accommodating, and understanding to our situation. We were able to book Sea Colony B2 around 11 AM and we were able to check in and pick up our keys by 4 PM that same day. The staff member who checked us in was very helpful and friendly. The unit we rented was beautiful, clean, and well maintained. Check out at the end of our stay was a breeze. Everyone in the group enjoyed our stay.f we had not found a rental through this company we had planned on switching flights and heading home early because of how bad our current rental was. My situation is not normal. My house that I lived in for 25 years burned in 2022, and it left me in a situation that I could not afford to buy the house next to me since the values went up 300% and just like that I was houseless with only half enough money to function, so this dilemma has sent me on a journey to totally relocate and start my life over somewhere else, so at 72 I was totally adrift, and just by chance I saw Carolina Beach NC as a fantastic place to headquarter out of while I look around, and by chance I called Dale at Saltwater Real Estate about staying in a condo or many condos on the beach for the off season, and Dale worked so hard to accomidate me and help me navigate thru my many time sensitive road blocks as my apartment lease in Texas was up and I had no place to seemlessy go, so I was in limbo for lack of a better word, and I have never had anyone step up so quickly and take control of my situation and totally look out for me, and his lease clients, and Dale played a heck of a game of chess to secure a place for me to temporarily live while I get to know the area and buy a new place if I find here is where I want to be, and I cannot thank Dale, and Carol enough for saving me so much stress, time and money, and Dale has been the absolute best, and he is very in tune with the area, and he has a heart, and so honest, and professional and all I can add is, IF you need a realestate agent, for vacation rentals or for a forever place, Ill assure you you will not find anyone that will take care of everything you need more than Dale and Carol at Saltwater Real Estate.
