Our unit, 408, was relatively clean, but in desperate need of an update. The kitchen table was in terrible condition. The entire top was bubbled up. The amenities were at a bare minimum...very few dishes, very dull cutlery, and very little cookware. The paint on the walls was chipped. Volume on bedroom tv did not work, and not streaming opinions were not provided. In essence, tvs needed to be updated. Extra sheets for sofa bed were not provided. Previous guests had stored some type of seafood in freezer and the entire refrigerator smelled like bad fish. The hotel had one functioning elevator and was not very clean. The only reason this received two stars instead of one was the ocean front view. read more

We very much enjoyed our stay here. The unit was clean, the staff was extremely friendly. Keep in mind that each unit is individually owned so the condition varies from unit to unit, so do your due diligence and go in advance or look online which one suits you. The Wifi here is mediocre, but the good news is buku cell sites on nearby buildings, so you should enjoy a full scale signal for Sprint and Verizon. So strong that we passed on the wifi. Unlimited data is a wunnerfull thing. The Overflow parking across the street is well-lit and plentiful no problems there.... and of course you're walking distance to several places and a short drive to several more. Before you come here make sure you fill your gas tank up the road in Wilmington so that you do not have to buy gas at either of the two closest gas stations to this location. they purposely do not put receipt paper in the card readers to force your azz to come into the store. I spent $1300 to stay here for 5 nights (July 19-24, 2014) and I was completely disgusted. The room that I stayed in was a nightmare. Mold on the walls and ceiling. The room smelled like it was very mildewed and by the looks of the molding stains, I probably should be concerned for my health after staying here. I can almost guarantee you that the carpet has not been changed or shampooed in at least 5 summers. I literally wore flip flops the entire time! I used my own pillow and blankets because honestly, why would I trust that they've actually washed their comforters and throw blankets? The place is disgusting! The dishes in the cabinets were NOT clean! We bought plastic silverware, solo cups, and paper plates to get us by. Vents and blinds were broken things in the room that were not replaced. You are required to take out your own trash which I thought was silly. The only accommodations you get are fresh sheets and towels daily upon 'room cleaning'. The indoor and outdoor pools are very small and are also not clean. The WIFI is tricky and I had to ask the front desk to help me connect, but they treated me like an inconvenience so I walked away before I flipped out. The view of the ocean was the only thing I liked about this room, but other than that I wish that I would have saved my money and slept in my car. Don't even try to complain to the front desk or management. You are most likely not getting refunded and you are definitely going to ruin your vacation by getting bent out of shape over it. Unfortunately, I just had to bite the bullet and deal with it. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO AVOID ALL OF THIS AND FIND ANOTHER HOTEL TO STAY AT! read more

I stayed a few days last month. Extra clean. All units are individually owned so a lot of variation. I chose Unit 511. It will sleep 4 or 5. No bunks so extra room in the living room with plenty of room to relax on the two lazy boy couches and recliner. New television in the living room and updates since pictures were posted on the main site. Very nice. Rocking chairs with pillows on the balcony along with other outside furniture. Will stay in this unit again, if available. Staff is very helpful and friendly. read more

Not perfect but great for what I paid. I stayed in September for one night. We got the second to the last room before they were booked solid. We wanted a place right on the beach and we're seeing a lot of no vacancy signs, so I was worried we might either pay through the nose (we did not) or it would be a dive. I'm not big on cosmetic stuff and if I was I might complain about a couple of things but otherwise my room was clean. That was more important to me. Someone else complained about dirty carpet on here. I think there may have been a bit of sand in the carpet (imagine that for a place on the beach) but I have stayed at 3.5 star hotels where my children's feet were black from a dirty carpet - that did not happen here!! For which I am grateful! The way the building is situated the rooms are beach side so there's a gorgeous view from the balcony. There are several floors (I may edit later to say how many) but we were on the fourth floor and I loved view! I was impressed with the little kitchen and should we have an extended stay, I would try this place again. The dishes were all clean. It had an old but working and clean fridge, electric stove top and oven and a toaster oven (all clean). As far as amenities in the bathroom and bedroom it reminded me of a 2 star hotel, although the bed was comfortable. I had two shampoos instead of conditioner and I nearly used the one bar of soap in a single shower but not a deal breaker for me. As with hotels and the like, I don't think they wash the bed spread because one I pulled off the twin bed was a bit stale smelling and I needed it because it was cool while we were watching TV. (Yes, I adjusted the thermostat and eventually didn't need it). But all there was on the beds was a sheet and the spread and I still needed more than the sheet to be comfortable. (My husband needs a little cooler than I do). So I would've liked a blanket too. Overall my experience was a good one here. I think during the high summer season, I would not want to pay the prices I noticed in other reviews but in September on a Saturday night I was very happy. read more

We just got home from visiting this place. Let me just start by saying I am very hard to please but my family and I have been staying here for now 12 years! We absolutely love it! The condos are great the space in the condo for the kids are great! The place is clean and kid friendly. You have your privacy and you don't have to worry about trouble! Most everybody that stays there are family's and it is such a wonderful atmosphere!!! The staff is great and friendly and are there to please! We are even thinking about buying a condo. The hotel has really gone down hill! Hotel does not provide coffee, shampoo, or room cleaning! Blinds were missing pieces and would not close! Floor was dirty and they told me to go to front desk to get vacuum...really?! Shouldn't it be clean? If u need sheets or blanket, you go downstairs to get them! No thanks! We are definitely coming back here!!! I can't say enough how wonderful and friendly the staff especially Whitney was. My family decided on a last minute trip for our little cousins birthday. We called several hotels in area and they were all booked. We called here and from the get go, Whitney explained everything and the price for 2 night which is the minimum was amazing. We were in room 1104 and the room was lovely. We had a room with king size bed, the twin bunks in the living area and the full queen sleeper sofa. The kitchenette was stocked with basics and the living area was nice. The balcony had an amazing view to the beach and one bathroom is the only downside to the 6 people max. Minor detail overall. I like the staff attentiveness on giving us extra toiletries like dishwashing liquid, trash bags and room towels to use. They don't provide coffee or coffee filters even though there is a pot. There is no beach towels, paper towels, salt or pepper, shampoo/conditioner or toothpaste or toothbrush. You have to take out trash before checking out and leave dishwasher washing any dirty dishes. With the kitchenette, we came prepared and made food which save money eating out. They have a pathway directly to beach with a shower and hose at end. Parking is small in front, but there is a lot (permit required)across the street directly in front. They give 2 parking passes for your stay if needed. Definitely recommend at a fair price and clean units which with kids is a must. Whitney and the crew, we may be back sooner than you think. read more

I was extremely disappointed when i called. I asked about there Mothers Day special for Sunday the 18th of May....their special is from 5/5-5/22. My kids and I for 20 yrs have gone here havent been in a while since I moved to WA state. I called and asked for a reservation for Sun the clerk said we wouldnt be able to check in until 5pm...I asked for extended stay pay extra....I was told that the soccor tourn would b leaving and thats why so late. I was like ok was concerned about having the baby with us until that late on the beach. She said let me look into it. She comes back and informs me that the have no avail. I was like you just said you had avail. The chairs in the living room are dirty. The bed covering has a red spot stain on it, one of the rollaway beds has a mattress that is completely worn and uncomfortable and the other has sand on it and looks very dirty, all dishes in the cabinet were dirty. I had an amazing experience and time while staying at Atlantic Towers. I stayed in Unit 511 and it didn't disappoint! The place is well furnished, 2 TVs, a full kitchen, spacious living room and a amazing view of the ocean from the living room or balcony. What more could you want? Units here are individually owned and it's obviously this homeowner has taken great pride ensuring that their guest will be comfortable! It truly felt like I wasn't staying somewhere where other guest were, but a home-like feel experience. I highly recommend unit 511 as a option for your stay and I plan to visit again soon! Oh! And I should also mention that the front desk staff is very courteous and helpful and makes the check-in and check-out process a breeze. read more

BED BUGS! AND THEY LIED ABOUT IT! I have been going to Atlantic Towers for YEARS but this time when I checked in they were FUMIGATING? ! I asked the clerk "FOR WHAT? BED BUGS??!" And she said NO just routine, every month... When I discovered bed bugs on my PILLOW we checked out immediately Bed bugs are a real problem for condos and hotels but they should be required to at least tell you yes if you ask. What are the laws about this? Because we had to leave all our luggage and clothes behind. And take hot showers and still are not sure whether r not we brought them home. Had a room overlooking the beach, fantastic view! Room had a king bed, pull out sofa bed and two bunk beds, one bathroom and a kitchenette. Beach access was easy, pool on site, game room, laundry facilities, and a short walk down to the boardwalk. Staff was friendly and attentive. Good family place, but ask for an updated room, since not all are same. Carolina Beach is a good beach for a family vacation--Fort Fisher and Wilmington make nice excursions for the kids as well. Stayed on the 10th floor, and you can wait for elevators, but it is still OK. Views are better from upper floors. Upon arrival someone was needing bug spray, not a good sign. The unit was much smaller than it seemed online and the bunk beds weren't what was online, we took this room because the bunks had sides but they must take things and move them from unit to unit because these had no sides and I'm not putting a kid high with no side to keep them in. The beds were hard. The view was great and the beach is close. The biggest problems other than the leaning broken and glued toilet was the fact that between the people taking up space with huge canopy's that are left empty 98% of the day and the umbrella rental people taking the rest of the space you are left with very little place to sit on the beach. Also beware this beach has red biting ants, something I've never seen at a beach before, my kids got bit a few times and one of the bites was huge. Also there isn't wifi, they say they have free internet but who really brings a laptop or something else you have to plug into a phone jack. Even the dumpy looking motels had free wi fi. If you have asthma like me you can't sit on the balcony and enjoy the view or leave the door open because of the smokers. They say the units are non smoking but I guess everyone goes to the balcony. The pools aren't great esp. the indoor one. The side of the dishwasher was off and the toilet paper is so cheap that it sticks to your body, your better off buying a roll of your own. The little packs of dishwasher soap makes the dishes nasty. The living room TV and DVD didn't have a remote, they did bring us a remote for the TV but the TV in the bedroom got more channels than the TV in the living room, don't ask me how that works but of course all the Disney Jr, sprout and stuff was only on the bedroom TV. There really should be a rule about the umbrella rental place and the people with canopy's taking up most of the beach front and then not using or renting them out. It isn't fair to other paying customers who want to use the beach. I can't say I would ever go back, because for the cost I feel the units could have better up keep. Also the parking really sucks, especially if your handicapped. Extremely limited parking up front, but they have a big lot across the street which makes it tough in the heat to walk and carry stuff. read more

We arrived and the individual condo, itself, was nice and clean; very cute (unit 201). HOWEVER - the pool, both indoor and outdoor, were dirty. WORSE STILL, WAS THE MANAGEMENT. At 2:30am, the night worker directed a person (obviously intoxicated or on drugs) to our unit, b/c he stated his girlfriend was in unit 201. The front desk person did not verify this person's identity or anything. My family was woken up at 2:30 in the morning by continuous banging on the door. The man would not go away even when we yelled for him to go away. IT WAS EXTREMELY SCAREY to say the least. I called the front desk to report it, and the lady told me she sent him. When I told her that he was not with us,, she states she could not do anything. There is NO SECURITY. The man did not go away for a while. I called tiwce, the lady did NOTHING. I requested to speak with a manager the next morning, she was 'out on property,' I left her a message - no surprise she never contacted me. I even went back again, all I got was excuses and no resolve. By the way, the manager NEVER addressed issues or contacted me back. On top of this, we had very rambunctious people in the two condos below us. They were extremely loud and shooting fireworks the following night. The management did nothing about it, only gave us more excuses and even tried to take up for those guest by stating it wasn't them, that it was people on the beach. BUT, we saw and took photos of the 3 huge bags full of used fireworks on the porch of the guests below us. read more

We visited this past weekend and were disappointed. Our room 1008 was online marketed larger than it is - you could not walk in the living room when the sofa bed was open, chairs on the deck were toooooo low to the ground, owner left chairs, etc in the closet so we could not store our luggage in an already very small unit, the shower did not have a mat and we almost fell and the bedroom did not have room darkening shades so the exterior light shown in all night. The front desk manager said all the units living areas were the same. We will not return. read more

The Atlantic Towers could be wonderful, but the staff...especially the night staff was terrible. It is a shame because the location of this condo building is just perfect! We stayed two nights and have to say it was the worse two nights. The first night at 2:36 a.m. a drunken man banged on our door screaming for someone and would not leave after telling him he had the wrong room. We called the front desk immediately for help and the clerk refused to help and said there was no security of any kind, they had no concern for us at all. After calling the front desk a second time, we had found out the clerk had let this drunken man come up after saying he was with the party staying in our room...with no apology of any sort she just made up excuses. What front desk clerk does not double check with the tenants or asks for an ID when they had all the names of the tenants staying in the room. The next day after one of us going down to the front desk to talk about what had happened, they made more excuses and zero apologies. Second night...around 12:30 a.m. the tenants directly below us shot off fireworks for which lasted an hour and not once did the staff on site do anything. Too tired from the sleepless night before, we just tried to ignore the noise. Even though the weekend was great due to the company I was with...I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. The staff is zero help, rude and is not a safe place if traveling with young kids or all girls. Love Carolina Beach...Hate the Atlantic Towers! Do yourself a favor and book somewhere else. read more
