A couple months ago, my friend was looking for a nice gift to give to her mom for Mother's day. She…read moredecided to go to the Coach store in the mall to get the gift. She was planning on spending about $400 dollars, and was looking for really anything really nice she could get that her mom would love. So we went together and I went off on my own to browse and just look around (I wasn't planning on getting anything). My friend always dresses more chill and has a certain different style. She is Hispanic and was wearing a black hoodie, nice dark jeans, a gold chain necklace, and white nike airforce shoes. I am white and was dressing like a typical cute casual teen. I was wearing a striped shirt, jeans, and Van's. So has I was browsing lots of very helpful employees came to me and ask if I needed help finding anything. I said no thank you I'm just looking. On the other hand one employee looked my friend up and down and said "Let me know if you needed anything." very skeptical. Nobody else came up to her and asked her if she needed help. She kept trying to get any of the employees attention but they continued to ignore her and pretend she wasn't there. Meanwhile, as people came in the employees were very attentive in helping them right away. Also I still got employees coming up to me asking me if I needed help every couple of minutes. This goes to show my friend was discriminated because of the way she dressed and her race as well. We ended up leaving the store and she never got anything for her mom. This tells you you should not judge someone by their looks or race. I was white and may have looked rich but I didn't even have five dollars to my name, while my friend over here has over $400.
