Had vehicle towed here in the evening and the next morning (a Saturday no less) I was back on the road with my family. What killed my like though is when we blew an engine in one of our vehicles. I had it towed to DT and talking to the owner, I told him I would be having problems coming up with the money but would keep him informed. The only option I had he suggested me not taking due to the high interests rate. He told me that my vehicle would be safe in back and keep him up to date. Yes it was a few months later when I decided to have the vehicle towed to my house until I could come up with the money or options. About this same time I received a letter in the mail from the county clerks office telling me I had lean against me from DT for vehicle storage. And guess how much...wait for it, the exact amount of what I was going to be charged to replace the engine. When I called the owner, he insisted that he had told me there would be a storage fee. He had NEVER told me about a storage fee nor had he ever charged a storage fee. Needless to say, I couldn't pay it, the vehicle was sold at auction to settle the lean, and we are still getting letters from the finance company asking about the vehicle. Oh btw, the finance company wrote the vehicle off after talking to DT. My opinion, don't use them!!!

I'm really sad to put this because the first time I ever called used Dave's Heating and Cooling…read morethey were very prompt, great, and informative. But this last time was anything but that. We were concerned about our furnace in a new house. Granted we are an all electric and we did not know much about how it worked, other than the fact our electric bill practically tripled, so we wanted to rule out anything that could be causing problems. I had replaced both elements on my water heater, checked the amperage on my panel, furnace, and water heater to not find anything to cause alarm before the service call date. However upon arrival after driving my kids to school the day of the service ca I caught the tail end of the technician basically telling my wife 'either find a new number to be comfortable with, or purchase a heat pump or a new furnace.' I did electrical work when I was younger and could never imagine speaking to a customer this way. I understand that the winter had been rough and you didn't want to be out in it but as a customer I was requesting service, paying for said service and answers. Not for my wife or I to spoken to disrespectfully the way we were. Also the comment of 'your bill is what it is.' I'm sorry but sounds to me like customer service and speaking with tact was not something that was taught. I do not care how skilled or knowledgeable someone is, if you are just rude and disrespectful there is no reason or excuse for that. Maybe others will have better luck, but as for me I will pay the service bill I will be getting charged, which I'm essentially paying for someone to treat me like an idiot and tell me to spend more money to 'possibly' save money in the long run, but will definitely not be calling this business again.

Where to begin? First, their communication is terrible because you'll talk to someone and the next…read morecall or text goes to someone else. I called and setup a time - I called back and the guy said I didn't have a move scheduled (got a text confirming I didn't have anything scheduled). Then people showed up at my house (I wasn't ready). The company blamed me even after I showed them the text and the call where the guy said I didn't have an appt. Move time comes - the guys are aloof and unhelpful. They didn't ask if I was okay leaving the doors open (they propped them up immediately). So then I had to find my cat. They used the front and back (while they were only two people) and messed up the door frame to the back - with nails sticking out that could've easily poked my kids (I'll come back to this). That's bad enough but professionals would have at least mentioned what they did (not try to avoid it). Professionals would say, "We screwed up - how can we help". I know this because I hired professionals after this company failed so miserably and they did something considerably minor and immediately were like, "We're sorry - that was our mistake." And that was it - taking simple accountability was all that was needed and I could not have cared less (although as professionals, they didn't screw up nearly as badly as College Movers). Back to College "Movers". They damaged furniture. They poorly packed and took very little of what I asked them to take and then they stopped before the time agreed upon and had the unmitigated gall to ask me if I would be tipping them. When the crew that came after these guys saw how they literally had thrown my things in a 10x20 storage unit and taken up a ton of space with not that much - they laughed (because these guys are laughably pathetic). Even sadder? I'm in no way a professional; the movers told me they had no way to understand how to take apart a bunk bed. I did it in the 20 minutes after they left (by myself). They are, simply, lazy. And that's fine - be lazy (but don't be movers). The worst part is that for each issue raised, their company took absolutely no responsibility. Texts indicating I had no appt? I must've confused their system (and ignore the fact that I could name who I talked to, when I called and for how long). Pictures showing the damage they did (but had not happened in the 4 years I previously lived in the home or from the movers I hired AFTER them because they were so bad) - must've been poor craftsmanship of the house, furniture, or magic. At no point was someone able to say, "You know, we could've done better." It has been (repeatedly), "Well, actually ..." If you want college movers in the vein of frat guys who are bad at their job, uninterested in professionalism, and adding to the litany of why moving sucks - these are completely your people. If you'd like a good company, go with "Moving You Forward" out of Terre Haute or "A Better Way" or literally any two people off the street.
