Cow themed ice cream shop within walking distance of the cruise port and other stores. Heard there usually is a long line, but was fortunate that we did not wait long, as the line moved fairly quickly. I had a scoop of their pralines & cream (Buttered praline ice cream with pecans and toffee swirls) on their freshly made waffle cone. It was creamy, sweet and delicious as expected. Oh my! The intoxicating scent of the freshly made waffle cones will lure you in! The cownadian maple ice cream was a winner! My bf got the cownadian cream pie which had shredded coconut in it. Both silky smooth and creamy. AND last but not least, the waffle cone tasted as good as it smelled! Super cute merch too. A must when in PEI, even if it's cold, rainy, and dreary! read more

Amazing ice cream. Has blueberry, which I didn't even know that was a thing. Courteous staff. Clean. Some folks have mentioned the price. Well, it's clearly in line with everyday shops, much so with artisanal stores. If you want cheap ice cream, buy a popsicle. read more

COWS is famously known for some of the best ice cream in Canada. Although it is good ice cream, l am a little uncertain about the place itself. This review foes not contain anything about the souvenir shop as we did not visit it. The good: The ice cream is good. The young lady serving us took time to explain to us how the sundaes works. Lots of choices. The bad: Lines can be long. Can be pricey. But the thing that got me is how the six young employees kept talking to themselves, loudly, about everything and anything (like McDonalds comfort food for example). Although it was funny to hear, l do not think it has it's place here. There is s tome for everything and makes the place look like it lacks management. So yes it is worth the stop on a hot day, and people are friendly, bug it lacks leadership. read more

Pretty good ice cream in a popular spot in Charlottetown, right by the port. Not great with denoting what the gluten-free options are, but pretty good ingredient lists. I don't remember exactly what we ordered, but they let us try a few flavors before settling on our choices. This particular location also doubles as a retail store, selling different types of branded merchandise. Not bad if you're in the area. read more

Cows rocks! This neat shop is located at Peake's Wharf and carries some very cool and colorful parody related merchandise and printed tees using COWS. They have Hannah Mootana, The Jonas Brudders, Kows (Kiss), CSI (Cow Scene), Guitar Heifer, Dairy Potter, and Indiana Moo, apparel. Very hilarious! Cows had a 25 percent off sale when I was here and I purchased a CSI t-shirt and Hannah Mootana baby tee as a gag gift. This location is seasonal (open May-October), but the Cows store in Queens Square is open year round and also offers great tasting ice cream. read more

I wish Cows ice cream were as good as their marketing campaign. Since it seemed to be such a thing in town, we went and tried it even if it seemed a little overpriced for an ice cream. Both my friend and I have been very disappointed. The flavour names are funny but the ice cream itself is waaayy too sweet. Even the cone is too sweet (and I only took a plain one!). I felt I could mainly taste sugar. Having a Cownadian (Maple flavour), I expected my ice cream to be sweet but it was too much. Both our cones were also poorly manufactured and it soon started leeking. I would not go there again. read more

They have many varieties of ice cream. It may be a better idea to order two scoops in a cup for one dollar more (single scoop is $5.99 and double is $6.99 if I remember it right) so that you can try more favours. They have cute T-shirts for sale too. A must-visit for tourists in PEI. read more

Very good ice cream but Managment and staff looks like they work for the government no incentive to service guest. Bad planning line wait was 45 minutes. Did they not know that 4k people off a cruise ship would be here. why did the manager not call for help. Only one person serving ice cream. Why the person making waffles could not help every other one. Why was the other guy just standing around. To bad for the corporate the employees make the same money even if people don't wait. Bad Managment lack of training. Fix it read more

Is it the best ice cream I've ever had? No. Do they have the best ice cream marketing campaign? Probably. We went far out of our way to try this ice cream. It was just normal. The location is really nice by the pier though. I wouldn't go out of my way for it again. But if I was in the area on a hot sunny day, then I would give it another whirl, but without the crazy expectations this time. read more

we were in Charlottetown on the Maasdam in late May and early June on a 14 day cruise from Boston to Montreal and return so we got to stop here 2x.. as good as it gets.. best ice cream around.. I got a double scoop of 'Gooey-Mooey' and 'Chip Chip Hooray'.. my wife got the 'Chip Chip Hooray' and 'Chocolate Monster'... all we can say is 'moooo moooooo'.. great stuff.. recommend it highly.. love the town.. will be back again next year read more

I used to work at cows and I am a huge fan of the place! The cones are so awesome and the ice cream is to die for. Super premium ice cream with all the best ingredients (fresh strawberries, imported cocoa, etc). The price is well worth it for this special treat (and remember it's worth the extra since it is not half air like other ice creams!!). read more

It's made by ADL, the PEI dairy company that makes much of the islands dairy products from local farms and people may disagree but I really do think its pretty close to what you get at cows for a cheaper price tag (and you can buy tubs of ADL at the store) I can only speak for the icecream at Kiwanis right now but know I'll be back to try some other classic snack bar foods like fries or a hot dog. Service is friendly, quick, and with a smile. It's located in Victoria park so you can take a stroll on the board walk while you munch or lick too! I ordered 2 scoops on a fresh house made waffle cone ($1.09 extra I think but worth it bc I'm a waffle cone kind of gal) and the total was about $5.45 after tax. The Mariners salted caramel was delicious and the crunchy pb was also very good! Great stop with plenty of options!

This place also has a driving range, mini putt golf, and a small playground. Johnny's Dairy Bar serves up cold treats as well as typical drive-in fare with outside takeout windows in front and an indoor dine-in seating area. The cold treats offered include soft serve and hard ice cream (from ADL), sundaes, flurries, banana splits, shakes, and slushes. Treat the dog to a Pooch Parfait, which is ice cream & dog biscuit, WOOF!! The hot foods offerings include burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, poutines, fried foods, seafood, ribs, and chicken fingers. Most items can be upgraded into a Deluxe Meal for around $2 more, which includes home fries, regular fries, or baked potato and cole slaw. The outside window service was efficient. We enjoyed a large ice cream cone (coffee) and a banana split, which was so good and refreshing on a warm summer day. This is why summertime is so great!
