Offered me a solution which I agreed with and they said they could come out the same day and get it done. This didn't happen. They told me one date which they then pushed back further, so over 2 weeks after the initial visit they came out and did the repair. They replaced a large section of cast-iron sewer pipes in my basement. Initially, everything seemed ok but after a couple weeks, the same issue we called about started again (leaking through our kitchen ceiling after the upstairs toilet became blocked), and also an additional sewage smell from the downstairs toilet. I called them about it, I was told they would call me back. Nothing. So I called them again and they were 'not sure why a sewage smell would be coming from the toilet'. In regard to the leaking issue, they again said they would call me back. To this day they have yet to call me back and I am done having to follow up with them. I re-seated the downstairs toilet and the smell is now gone, the upstairs toilet wasn't even secured (bolts were left loose), they left quite a mess in the basement too. They basically took the money and ran, almost $3000, of which $2100 was labor and I honestly believe they over-charged for that. They were not at my property for that amount of time. I would not recommend this company, not reliable and certainly don't seem to have any sense of customer service.

I had to have another estimate due to the city of Macomb on my back, and I thought estimates were free. In the past, I never had to pay for an estimate. This last time I was charged over 300 dollars and he did no repairs. I got an estimate for a ton of work that I did not ask about. I still owe Hollister's for that. I am 68. I live alone and owe them. I live off of social security. I'm sick with a progressive disease, and it just doesn't feel right that this business that makes more than enough money does this. I had plumbing work done previously where the wall had to be opened up to fix the leak. Maybe I am just stupid, but I thought they would repair the wall. NO! They would not. Oh, they would if I would pay for it to be fixed. I just feel that if you do the job that is part of it. Macomb has been a horrible place to get repairs done .

I called Generations and they sent Tom out to my house right away. He had the microwave fixed in no time (I'd been trying to track that down off-and-on for... a while). He also diagnosed the problem with the porch light - it turns out that the brand-new motion sensing light I had put on last fall had a defective sensor, so the light wouldn't turn on. I had also picked up the wrong type of fixture for the basement light, and I hadn't purchased the bathroom vent/light yet at that point, because I wanted to ask first how big of a project it was going to be first. After talking over what I needed with Tom, I picked up a new porch light, bathroom vent/light, and basement light the next day, and once again, Tom came right over to finish the projects. Honestly, I thought I might pay a premium for hiring a company with that responsive of a service, but when I got the bill, I was happily surprised with a very reasonable bill. Overall, I'm totally satisfied with the service I received from Generations Electric. They were fast to respond and fixed everything I needed to have fixed quickly, and at a fair price. Tom was a total professional and a pleasure to work with. They will definitely be my first call next time I need an electrician.
