During the years of 2015 & 2016, I lived in Texas which is a no income tax state. Yet she charged me the same fee for filing taxes in 2014 which is the year that I lived in a state which requires both federal and state income filing. That made no sense to me because the federal filing is free! Yet her response was that the fee is due because she still had to file the federal taxes. Here it is 2018 & I am now receiving notice for a tax balance that is $5,000+ from 2015 & an overpayment check for my 2014 taxes (which is nowhere near enough to cover the tax balance from 2015). I am a single individual with no businesses owned or children, filing my taxes should have been fairly easy. I would have been better off using a tax software to file my taxes. I'm certain I would not be having the tax issues I am having today. Please stop sending me correspondences to use your services again!! I will NEVER use your services or refer anyone to you...EVER.

I supplied him all the info needed to complete taxes and was led to believe the issues we sought advice on would be settled in our favor. I made it clear I wanted to go over the return before filing. Mr. Turley ignored repeated emails and calls after emailing a copy of the return with a bill for $500. There were multiple basic mistakes, and someone else, Suzanne French, had signed the return. I paid the $500 assuming he would call to answer questions and correct mistakes but after a week of waiting he called my daughter, who he knew, wasn't informed about the issues. I went to a private accountant who reviewed their work and all the same documents provided to them and was able to show that I was in fact owed money back. I'd say this office was completely incompetent, but that doesn't go far enough. They charged me $300 for their service and it took me over two months of calling almost daily to get someone to give me a refund for their egregious error. The office manager is always "working from home" or "at another office" and the receptionist couldn't ever get ahold of her. It took me calling another office and speaking to a different office manager (shout out to her) and escalating to their district manager for this elusive "manager" to reach out to me. It still took two more weeks before my refund for the service was actually be sent to me. I will never return to any H&R Block after the last two months of near full-time work trying to get them to fix their mistake. Absolutely wild level of incompetence.

I didn't get my money back because their 100 percent guarantee is only guaranteed if you pay for their guarantee. Short version is I told my tax advisor I go the early tax credit from the feds. They didn't put it in the return even though they asked me how much credit I got. So when I get my return it's delayed, and short. Oh, then when I go to appeal it the other advisor, who was rude to me, in the end basically conceded that I was correct, but as I didn't buy their guarantee their was nothing they could do. And I don't need to call them. If they really wanted to help they would call me. They have my number. But then again the office manager at the local office never got back to me last year. Why should corporate be any different. (edit) Oh, now a year later corporate wants to to reach out to me. I reached out to them last year, and the result was what you see above. Also this year I went to Jackson Hewitt. I was told I was the fourth person to bring in a big green envelope from H&R from the previous year. Gee, I'm shocked. Oh, and looking at my old taxes from last year they were done by Jackie Foster. What? How dare I give someone's name. Well guess what? Ever hear of libel laws? You can't be sued for libel when telling the truth.
