I am sharing only my personal experience with this firm's tax preparation services, not its tax…read moreresolution services, and am avoiding disclosure of privileged or personal information. Initially, communication with Josh was prompt and reassuring, including during the initial free Zoom meeting. I paid upfront and promptly uploaded organized PDF documentation, including information relating to my 1099 business expenses. When the returns were completed, most of my 1099 income was included, but all of the related and documented business expenses I had uploaded were not reflected. I was not asked about those expenses or informed they would not be included. I raised this issue multiple times and requested that the uploaded documents be reviewed. I was told the expense information had not been provided, despite those documents already being in the portal. I have retained records and screenshots relating to this. Additionally, one of my 1099 forms was not included in the returns despite my providing it from the outset and despite the same form appearing on the IRS Wage and Income Transcript. Other questions and details I had provided upfront in a summary PDF document also went unaddressed until I raised them individually. What concerned me most was not only the omissions, but also the lack of meaningful review or resolution afterward. I ultimately sought assistance from another tax professional, who advised that the omitted business expenses and omitted 1099 appeared significant enough to require amended returns, which we did in order to correct these omissions, resulting in additional delay, expense, and stress. I also found communication challenging during the engagement. In several conversations, I felt my questions and concerns were interrupted mid-sentence or dismissed before they could be fully discussed, which left me feeling rushed and made it difficult to have an effective discussion and review of the issues I was raising. Based on my experience, the attention to detail and level of review were not what I expected at all. I also expected more opportunity for collaborative review and discussion during the process, including the Zoom review appointments referenced as part of the service in the Engagement Agreement. Those review meetings did not occur, and my experience did not match the level of communication, review, or service I expected. Instead, short recorded videos were provided that briefly reviewed the returns. I was not asked whether I wished to replace the referenced Zoom review meetings with recorded videos. Overall, the process felt rushed to me because several items I had uploaded were not addressed, and the Zoom review meetings referenced in the Engagement Agreement did not occur. Honestly, the majority of the interactions left me feeling as though my concerns were being minimized rather than seriously considered. As a result, I often felt talked down to instead of being treated as a client who had retained the firm, paid for the agreed services, and was seeking clarification regarding issues in the returns. I found this both confusing and surprising given the professional nature of the engagement. My concerns are based on documents, portal records, and communications that I retained throughout the engagement. I rarely leave negative reviews, but I felt my experience should be shared. Based on my experience with the firm's tax preparation services, I would not hire the firm again and would encourage prospective clients to carefully consider other available options before making a decision.
