Phone lines do not pick up. I called 4 times to get in contact with HR, they hung up on me 3 times in a row- I hadn't even spoken to a person yet, this was the automated system. When I finally found a way to get it to connect me to a representative, I was instead met with another bot saying they'll return my call the next business day. So my husband and I were excited to go and enjoy a meal out. Not only did we eat but, I purchased a bracelet $19.99 and a birthday card $ 5.00. After we finished and went to pay, the lady said I'm not sure why there is nothing coming off of your bill! the pegs ?????? She ask another lady who I thought was more experienced and she could not explain it either. She tried to say something about some purchases in the store were different from the food purchased? But she could not explain that either. It was all the cash registers fault.??? So we ended up paying full price and no pegs or points were able to be used!!! My bill was $63.62 which we paid . Received a gift card for $50. Went to my local Restaurant to use it and they said there was not a balance. We had not used the card since we had just got it, they said that they do not honor Cracker Barrel gift cards...when did this become a thing where a restaurant doesn't honor their own cards? We even had the receipt for the purchase as we had trouble with gift cards in the past so the receipt was even attached when we got it. So today ... our family met after our father died last week. We decided to meet at Cracker Barrel on Bear Creek in Columbia, TN. My brother and spouse drove from Atlanta with my father's ashes in urn, his will and some other personal possessions that were left to me. Of all places to meet - Cracker Barrel - my father's favorite. My brother exhausted and driving overnight arrived to Cracker Barrel probably 5 minutes before us - he asked to be seated before we arrived. Having diabetes, overweight and neuropathy and with the toll of literally just loosing our father ... simply a seat and a coffee at "family restaurant Cracker Barrel." He was told by the hostess she couldn't seat him till we were all there. Corporate policy - no exceptions He finally explained he needed to sit and he found a small 2 Top and sitting there waiting for us . When we arrived this hostess wouldn't even acknowledge us. I asked her where she would like us to sit and pointed to a 6 top behind the hostess stand. She wouldn't speak or even acknowledge - She grabbed menus And started walking ....We found our spots by the window. While talking about our father, discussing the will and knowing my brother had a 14 hour drive to Nebraska we were deep in thought Then came a bag of coffee thrown at our table - with a person and the HOSTESS from Cracker Barrel. There THEY stood after throwing the coffee on our food and said, "Merry Christmas - Here's your coffee- next time don't be an Asshole". As the hostess looked directly at us with this other person. She stood there and then walked away in tow. We were deep in the moment of our discussion about family plans, medical bills, will, selling house etc. The next thing we knew - we had coffee thrown on the table - and a verbal attack in front of A restaurant FULL of people. We couldn't really relax after that and were genuinely shocked at the lack of restraint - So - we left and the bill was paid .... But, after thinking about it, I asked to talk to management - TY was his name. He had no idea what took place - as we spoke the hostess kept her head down. We were 2 feet from her discussing the situation. So he approached her - she was very ameniable and kind all of a sudden. And she sat us in a Nice Window seat. She was a different hostess than we had encountered! So, Apparently we are told by your hostess .....the person paid "her" to show her our table because she thought my brother "was short" with her. After paying her , apparently they purchased the coffee and so customer asked the hostess to show her our table - and asked her to accompany her. And she did just that. Obviously, this hostess knew who the coffee was for because of the money involved , the conversation and finally accompanying her to our table and...she knew the customer was disgruntled. Cracker Barrel employee was nothing more than an a compliance to HATE, HOSTILITY and aggression toward me and my family. Obviously, we felt threatened and attacked. We sat in dismay. NO ONE from management came to our table. We exchanged ashes and he went On his way. As we parted ways - we have this indelible memory of embarrassment, fear and utter disgust knowing this is how an employee of Cracker Barrel would in this day and age ... pay to be part of this rage and anger that a "Karen" had toward a simple cup of coffee and simply wanting to sit before you're allowed . Granted I'm sure he was short - I'm sure he was forceful , but that doesn't give licensure for this aggressive act conjured up by "so Customer" and Cracker Barrel employee. Why on earth would your hostess accept money from a " customer" and then escort her to our table and stand there while the coffee is thrown and verbally Attack us? Why didn't she see a problem with this type of aggression and have management intervene? Why? Because she wanted and deliberately made herself part of the plan - that stemmed from aggression and complacency - What if this would have been a concealed gun? I have enjoyed eating at cracker Barrel all over the country, but Prattville Al, we have been going there for years, but the last four times that we visited the service was terrible. We had to wait 10-15 minutes for a waiter to ask for our beverage. We have had to wait about 30-45 minutes to get our meals,plus another 30 minute for our cornbread. Yesterday my wife and I walk out after we was seated, it took over 15-20 minutes to get our beverage order the waiter was as nice as you could ever want, she apologized for our wait, we decided to give her our meal order with our beverage order and again another 30 minutes for cornbread. When, i got home with it the portions were like a child's plate. I purchased a coastal seafood dinner. Total cost was $15.68 charged on April 19. I complained to the manager because he knew what happened but he couldn't refund the venmo card himself. The manager left messages for corporate 3 times. They didn't respond to him. We always loved stopping at Cracker Barrel when traveling. The last 3 visits to Cracker Barrel were below par. The meals have not been nearly as good as they use to be. The last several times we have been to Cracker Barrel in Tualatin, Oregon we have been very disappointed. The favorite menu items that Cracker Barrel is noted for are no longer on the menu (for example - catfish, fried okra, fried chicken livers, cornbread, turnip greens). Several months ago they cut down their serving hours to 6 pm Monday through Friday, and 7 pm on Saturday and Sunday due to the lack of sufficient wait staff (their explanation). Their prices for the lemon-peppered Mountain Trout has increased 20% as well as other prices on their menu. Tonight there were only SIX staff in the whole restaurant! The server was very apologetic about the menu changes but said the menu changes were made by the Corporate Office in Tennessee and not by their particular Cracker Barrel location. I can understand why there is a problem with wait staff. Many people are being given handouts which makes them not very interested in working at a job. I have seen many, many signs on stores and restaurants that say "Now Hiring". And I also understand that the COVID shutdown caused the restaurant, as well as many other eating places, to shut down for months. What I do not understand is why the CEO and other top officials in the Cracker Barrel management aren't trying to maintain the once gold standard reputation Cracker Barrel held for decades! We lived in Georgia for 33 years and we could always count on stopping at Cracker Barrel Restaurants for quality food, good service, and the menu items Cracker Barrel has always been known for as we travelled. I love your food, but for the last few years it has been the worst food. Old hard bread. Veggies that could gag a maggot. Everything is over cooked and tastes old. I keep trying to go back, I would rather go to McDonald's. Complained a couple of times, but ended up with hair in Mr food. Same trip. It has been a few months since the incident. I apologize for that as I have had several major events in the last three months. The story: My 18 year old grandson and I went to a Cracker Barrel in Bremen, GA for dinner. We are both immuno-compromised, so we are both vaccinated and wear masks until we are sitting alone. I noticed that none of the staff were wearing masks, so I asked our waitress if she was vaccinated, She would not say, but we could conclude. I asked her then if she could wear a mask when serving us--and she excused herself. The restaurant manager (a woman) came to our table and said that we made our waitress uncomfortable, so she was asking us to leave. I asked if I could record our interaction as I went for my phone. The manager ran to the back room. The entire restaurant looked at us as if we were lepers. The truth of the matter is that someone in our vicinity that is not wearing a mask can spread the Covid virus to us as the virus particles from them as they are talking can go onto our table, onto our hands, onto our masks, which we would remove to eat--and therefore spread the virus with our hands. I did not think it was too much to ask for the waitress to wear a mask seeing the over one million people in the United States have already died from the virus. My grandson and I were both humiliated as other customers saw us get up to leave. We called Olive Garden from our car, and they assured us that their staff wears masks while interacting with customers. We enjoyed our meal, but the embarrassment and now the lack of desire to ever visit a "Cracker" Barrel is gone. So disappointed with this restaurant! Went to 2 different locations in NC , different dates of course, Kernersville and Greensboro. Had a very bad experience at both!!! Service was extremely slow. Tonight it took 45 minutes for food to come out, the onion pedals appetizer didn't show up until about 5 minutes before the food did and was overcooked and nearly cold. Once the food was finally served, the chicken tenders we had were overcooked ....WAY overcooked. Just looking at it on the plate you could tell how bad it was going to be. Part of the sides didn't come out until we were halfway through our meal and then we were overcharged on top of that! We questioned it and the waitress gave us some lame excuse about how they charge for each item BUT, we each had Chicken tenders with 3 sides that the menu showed as $14.49 each OR You could get only 2 sides for 12.99. so our meals should have been 14.49 each plus our drinks....however, we were charged for the chicken tenders at 12.99 and then an additional 2.99 per side!!! This is NOT what the menu showed .... needless to say we were very upset but we took it for it was and went to the register to check out. The cashier asked how everything was and I told her she just really didn't want to know , she apologized and rang up our ticket of nearly $53.00 .... we paid and left. Now I am usually not one to remain this calm in a situation like this, and I was much nicer than I could have been but we will NEVER go back!!!! That is 2 for 2 and we will not be giving it a 3rd chance. This past Sunday my wife and I went to the Frackville Pa. location around 6:30 pm we were seated righr away, wife ordered the trout and I the Southern fried chicken. 10 minutes later the server came back to inform me that there wasn't anymore fried chicken, that I should order something else, so I ordered a different entre about another 10 minutes later both orders arrived. Her trout was dried out, I suspect for it being left under the warmer for about 20 min. My steak was ordered med rare, it was brown and like shoe leather. At this point very agitated and the server ask if I wanted to put that in a bag. I said didn't I ask for med rare, she said yes. Didn't want to reorder anything at this point. She left and the manager returned and wanted to know what was going on. I told her everything and with some condescending attitude said I wouldn't have to pay for it. WORST CUTOMER SERVICE EVER!! My Story: First, I ordered 2 rocking chairs from Cracker Barrel website over the weekend. I order many things online because I am in my late 60's and the closest Cracker Barrel is approximately 50 minutes away. About an hour later, I realized that another person in my family already ordered the same 2 rockers. As with all the websites where I have purchased items, I called CB Customer Service number to immediately cancel the order, but got a recording that they were ONLY OPEN on M-F between the hours of 8AM - 5PM CST!!!! How can a customer be able to ORDER items at the website, but not be able to speak with a Customer Service Rep!!! I then sent email to guestrelations@crackerbarrel.comindicating that another member of the family ordered them previously. DID NOT get ANY RESPONSE from Guest Relations. I have been CALLING and CALLING corporate at 800-333-9566 - THAT SAME DAY and several times each day and have waited OVER 16 MINUTES with the same inane recording. Is there an actual Cracker Barrel Customer Service Department?? I received another email from CB indicating that my purchase of 16OCT will take "approximately 15 business days after the order is placed". If it takes 15 business days to mail, why can't the order be cancelled? Today, I have placed at least 4 separate calls of over 15 minutes wait time for each and still have only the recordings to listen to. I received yet another email from CB stating that "We have received your recent email, regarding you online rocker order/purchase. On January 3rd I placed and online order at the cracker barrel in Wichita Falls, Tx at 4 PM. They said it would be ready at 4:42. When I arrived I called in & told them I was there. They said they would be right out. At 5:07 I went inside and found Amy, Tresa, and Sarah just talking. I told them who I was one of them looked at the shelf and said "oh here it is"! I ate at the Cracker Barrel on 23rd Street, Panama City, FL. on Sunday, April 21, 2024. It was a terrible experience and keep in mind there were probably only four tables with people eating. I ate with my daughter and two grandsons. The food we ordered basically tasted bad. My turnip greens and her carrots were ice cold. I asked the waitress to heat my greens and then they came back so hot they were destroyed. My daughter ordered a take out and again the food tasted bad. I have been a long time customer with Cracker Barrel. They have excellent food. Unfortunately, the customer service is terrible. I was double charged for an order. I have tried to get this resolved for over a month. I tried to get a manager to help at the restaurant and dealt with 3 different managers and got no where. They were all going to call back, never heard a word. I contacted guest relations. I got a response back that I was wrong and when I responded with more information, no one has responded back. The manager/shift leader accused my husband of using a profain word towards our waitress , which had not even approached our table within 15 minutes of sitting there. We asked for the General Manager's name , Mr Scott Rizek walks up to our table huffy and states if my husband uses "another" profain word (hence he did not use the first one at all) that he would tell us to leave . CB's Corporate already earned 1.6 stars based on numerous reviews = F, and my opinion/experience is not any better than, for example, Mary's posting in June 19th 2024. Both phone numbers listed - 800-333 AND Corporate 615-444 are identical - both send us to their website, while website replies, also identically that "they do NOT deal with any retail shopping, including searching for a specific item previously available at their stores..." Phones toss customers-to-be to the website, and web page - back to the same fake phones... I was trying to place over $100 order but gave up a few days later and shopped at Braswell's and Amazon instead, where their Representatives do answer the phone (at Amazon - 24/7!) and minimum requirement for free delivery is much lower than at CB: $75 and $35. Even though I did manage to email CB's Corporate, they never ever responded in any shape or form. read more
