However waiting to get the ticket so we could go took entirely too long. The chicken and dumplins for $12 comes with dumplins. The only chichen is buried beneath a large pile of wet flour. Two small pieces about the size of the end of my thumb. No flavor. I had never tried this dish but I used to hear compliment Cracker Barrell's chicken and dumplins. I complained to the waitress. She assured me that she had beought me the chicken and dumplins and not just dumplins. Then she came back with a cup and two tiny pieces of chicken. They were out of meatloaf and soup. We were passing through and decided to stop for late lunch/early dinner. Arrived at 1:47 and was seated immediately. We went ahead and placed our order for drinks and meals (two Mama's breakfast and a meatloaf dinner. It took almost an hour for the food to arrive at our table and the meatloaf meal was lukewarm at best and dry. I tried to eat it but just couldn't stomach it. Our server, Michael H, was so incredibly patient with taking everyone's orders even though some of the kids with us were being a bit wild. Michael was the best example of Southern hospitality that I saw on my entire trip. We even had to split the bill, which I felt awful about, but Michael told us it was no issue at all and came back with the separate checks so quickly and without a hint of resentment for what difficult customers we must have been. I was in the area for a week on business. I ordered twice from this restaurant. There were problems both times with the curbside staff. I had no issues with the meal. Ordered curbside both days, needless to say I had to get out of my vehicle both days and go inside for my order because no one ever came out. First time, order was sitting on the rack waiting. Go to grab a bite to eat right around 7pm last night with pushing 20 percent capacity of customers. Pretty laid back night overall as far as occupancy. Had to wait 3 minutes for the hostess to show up to seat us. Ask to order cheese bites but was told they do not offer marinara sauce to go with them only ranch. So skipped an appetizer and go to order country fried steak and was told it would be at least 30 minutes until they would have mashed potatoes or macaroni. Look at the rest of the menu and everything I would have cared to eat either came standard with mashed potatoes or would be the most preferred side. You should not have to wait 30 minutes until your order can be started at a place that is known for serving many people very quickly. Has been 5 plus years since I had been here with another bad incident. May not ever come back. Simply took my ticket and paid for our drinks which we had only took a sip out. My husband and I came to eat dinner. Again, the food was not what we expected. The syrup was Water, the steammed Brocoli was Cold, the steak we ordered was so hard I could not eat it and I gave it to my husband. The worst customer service experience. I placed an order online and after taking 10 minutes longer than the pick up time to get my order I had items missing. I asked for a refund since they did not have the items I wanted and the manager stated they could not refund my card, even though I just paid for it, that he could only give me gift card.
