I'm so disappointed in one of my most favorite breakfast spots; we've never had such terrible service of any restaurant that we frequent. We waited 35 minutes before we were approached by our waitress, Nikky Y. and then we waited another 10 minutes to get a cup of coffee. We asked for biscuits three times and never got them. After an hour, I went to the kitchen door and asked for a manager. Horrible! Horrible! We witnessed two different parties getting up and walking out after they had waited an hour. The manager on duty had different waitress bring us our order and we ate quickly because we had an appointment. We couldn't wait to pay and be on our way. Our visit to Cracker Barrel yesterday was unbelievably disappointing. I don't know what's going on with this location, but the service and food quality have completely fallen apart. We waited a ridiculous amount of time just to be acknowledged at the door. Employees walked by us repeatedly without even making eye contact. When we were finally seated, the hostess didn't say a single word -- she just dropped the menus on the table and walked away. No greeting, no warmth, nothing. It was rude and set the tone for the whole visit. Our server wasn't much improvement. It took far too long to even get drinks, and the wait for our food felt endless. When it did arrive, it was honestly embarrassing. My husband's food was overcooked beyond saving -- dry, tough, and clearly prepared with zero care. My meal wasn't any better: cold, bland, and slapped together like an afterthought. Trying to get help was impossible. The staff acted annoyed and uninterested, like customers were an inconvenience instead of the reason they have a job. No apology, no effort to fix anything -- just terrible attitudes all around. Food - was really disappointing to make this my birthday breakfast choice. The eggs were tasteless, the ham was over cooked and hard to cut and chew. Even the hash brown casserole was just not as good as I remembered. The French toast was okay-ish and I didn't even attempt to try my bacon or sausage. Just no. & My husband's Dr Pepper was horrible. The biscuits were the only thing I would say were good, but it took me 5 times of asking the waiter, Winter, for some strawberry jelly. He seemed so spacey and kept forgetting to take care of his tables which he only had us and one other. The server came by and placed some bread on the table without saying hello nor introducing herself. Came back and still didn't introduce herself. We gave the complete order and it took about 25 minutes to get the food. She didn't intentionally check on us to see if we needed something after the food arrived. I had to motion for her to come to us. I thought she was in training but come to find out, she was training a young man. Disappointing. It's a Sunday morning and we knew it would busy, but not that service would suffer to badly. Yes, we waited about an hour, after being told 30-45 minutes, to get a table. We got seated and after our waitress Victoria greeted us, that was about it. We asked for biscuits while we waited, they never came. When we asked about them again, she said there were no baskets to out them in. We pointed out that the table next to us got them on a plate, she turned around and said "really" but still never came out until we asked yet again. She came by the table three times saying the kitchen was crazy that's why our food was so delayed, but it was odd. Every table around us, even ones that ordered after us, all got their food before we did. When the food finally came out, it came out bit by bit. At the same time we asked for utensils, but we didn't get actual metal utensils, we got to go plastic utensils really? Every other table around us got real silverware, we did not. Two of us sat there with empty drink glasses, but we were never asked if we wanted refills, we had to ask. One of the sides never came out. After we asked about it three times it finally came out in a to go box. At the same time we were eating, a table was sat next to us that sadly had food on the floor under it. The ladies saw the food, went to the kitchen door and asked for a broom. The person standing there gave her a pan and broom and then watched as the customer swept and cleaned the floor under their table. A manager even watched but did nothing. I placed an order to go called it in they said it would be 10-15 mins so I waited outside for 10-15 minutes then when I went in, they said they never got the order for Seth Then they took like five minutes looking to see if they even have the order they couldn't find an order for it so whoever I talked to over the phone never put it in so then I said OK I'll just place the order. In my 35+ years of dining at CB, one of the worst experiences to date. Visited on a Monday around 3:30pm, party of 2. They must be telepathic, because it looked and tasted like my food had been cooked several hours before I even arrived. Server was new, so I'll cut her some slack by not mentioning her name. Asked for only corn muffins, got only biscuits, and they were cold. When I finally got the muffins, they were't even warm enough to melt the butter. My fried catfish (could only bear to eat 1 fillet, the 2nd one inhumanely went to my dogs) was also cold and uncharacteristically fishy-tasting (and slimy). The carrots? Cold and mushy. Steak fries? Also cold, and so greasy they appeared almost translucent -- inedible. The only passable item was the turnip greens -- also cold. Had I not been with my son, whom I don't get to see that often, I would've returned everything to the "kitchen" and had a courageous conversation with the manager on duty. Was really hoping for a positive experience, especially after all the rebranding hoopla, but this was enough to turn me away for good. Not even Uncle Herschel could've redeemed this one. My husband came from the restroom and said it very nasty was I sure I wanted to eat there and we decided to stay and eat. We should've went with our gut and left. Cracker Barrel has always been a decent, inexpensive restaurant chain offering good "home style" meals - from breakfast to lunch and into the evening for dinner. Is it anything special? No. But it's a well-known and staple chain restaurant I categorize with others like Chili's, Applebees, Olive Garden, etc. I always enjoy browsing the front store with seasonal goodies! We stopped in for breakfast driving through the town. Their breakfast/brunch menu is hearty and full of variety, relatively inexpensive depending on what all you order, and served as expected. No frills, no surprises. Service was excellent - our server was kind and attentive and efficient, despite the breakfast rush that quickly followed after we got seated. I ordered their seasonal French Toast Latte which was piled high with whipped cream and the steak and eggs hash brown bowl, which was a generous portion of hash brown casserole topped with cheese, eggs, tomatoes and onions, steak bites, and crispy fried onions. Absolutely terrible experience today (Sunday, July 13 2:30 PM) at Cracker Barrel. We were a party of 3 and waited over 2 hours for cold food, with no server assigned to our section the entire time. The table in front of us actually got up and left. After waiting 15 minutes just to speak to someone, the manager finally came over, but offered no real resolution--just a small discount that didn't come close to making up for the disrespect and lack of service. If the restaurant is short-staffed, they should at least communicate that up front. Instead, we were left completely in the dark, wondering what was going on while being ignored. This level of disorganization and poor service is unacceptable. I won't be returning, and they seriously need to hire a new manager who knows how to handle these situations with professionalism and transparency. read more

We hadn't eaten yet, so brunch sounded perfect, and I was surprised that we only had to wait 25 minutes for a table. That's about the only positive part of the visit. From the start, the restaurant looked dirty. Our original waitress was kind and clearly doing her best, but extremely overworked. After waiting 25 minutes just for someone to take our order (after drinks), another staff member had to step in. It still took nearly an hour to get our food, and when it finally arrived, everything was cold. The coffee tasted like it had been made in a dirty pot, and the food was disappointing all around. My eggs were cold, the bacon was soggy, and the hashbrown casserole, which used to be my favorite, was cold and bland. I was truly shocked at how far the quality has fallen. Let me be clear: this isn't about the waitress. She was managing what looked like 15 tables by herself, rushing as fast as she could. I actually felt bad for her. She was working hard, carrying heavy dishes to wash, trying to clear tables, and doing it all alone. Where was management? I didn't see a single manager on the floor. The whole restaurant felt understaffed and chaotic. Cracker Barrel used to be one of my favorite places, but sadly, I won't be back. The experience was gross, exhausting, and not worth the wait. The start to breakfast today was slow. Not taking anything away from Cracker Barrel with the stomach on empty on Saturday, we are all thinking breakfast at 10am. Hostess shared the news that the wait would be upwards of 40 minutes. We knew with the porch benches full of waiting to eat, 40 minutes was expected. Checked in and provided phone number to be called in when table ready. Much to our surprise we were promptly seated in around 30 minutes. Thank you Cracker Barrel. We ordered the usual momma's breakfast with pecan pancakes which arrived pipping hot and totally delicious. I subbed fruit for the meat for no extra charge. My sis happily ate the scrambled eggs. I love that the pancakes were served with hot pure maple syrup. Yum! Perry served us with a glowing smile and warm personality. Our water and tea glasses were refilled several times throughout breakfast. Great service. Good food. Wonderful biscuits greeted us shortly after we were seated. Front of the house service here is horrible yet I go back periodically to see if anything has improved. Last night, I waited 23 minutes for an order that should have been ready at 6:30. They weren't busy but apparently had run out of chicken and dumplings, which they didn't mention. The location had people there but it was not overly crowded. We looked over the menu and our waiter came over to get our drink orders while we continued to look over the menu. After a few minutes we decided to order the 2 strawberry cheesecake filled pancakes, egg whites, sausage, and bacon. We also just decided to drink water on this hot summer day.
