Mr. Craft is wonderful. He initially did not have any available units, but offered a waiting list. Once one was available he set us quickly and gave easy to follow directions to the unit. He offered advice on moving companies and was so fatherly with his sound advice. His units are clean and easy to access. I recommend him whole heartedly. read more

Bill Craft runs an excellent storage facility for a great price. I have rented two units at separate times over the past ten years. The units are well maintained, the site is very secure with 24-hour keypad entry, and the access lanes are wide and paved. I'll never use any other storage facility. read more

Bill Craft is the owner, and was very responsive to all my questions. I rented a 5x10 storage unit for my daughter from May-August and it was large enough to hold all her contents, plus her friends belongings. The cost was $70 per month. I did not get a temperature controlled unit and her belongings (bed, TV, etc. all were fine. Upon vacating the unit, my $25 deposit was returned within a week. Additionally, the unit was conveniently located off the highway and my daughter was able to access it whenever she needed to, by using a code to enter the facility. And her own personal lock on the unit. My only suggestion would be for Craft self storage to implement Venmo or some other payment processing system. Sending the check in an envelope via snail mail, was just a minor inconvenience. But other than that - it was a great experience and met our storage needs. read more

Mr. Craft was incredibly friendly and helpful. I will definitely be coming back here again. When I first contacted him (towards the end of the school year), he did not have storage units. However, he put me on a list, and for the next month, whenever he had a unit come up, he was incredibly prompt to return my calls and let me know there was a unit. I was out of the state for about a month and a half; however, I was able to reach him for one of the units, and he automatically reserved the unit for me (without having to sign any paperwork, beforehand). How incredibly honest! The lease started mid-July (he emailed me the paperwork and I signed and faxed it back to him before the start of August). It was $70 for a 5x10 (which holds up to a full apartment's worth of stuff). with a $20 deposit. However, since I would be moved out by Aug 8th, he was gracious enough to say that he'll only charge me for the security deposit, for time in August instead of paying the full month! what awesomeness! Through this whole experience, he has been very accomodating and has been very prompt in returning phone calls and emails. The units are very clean and well kept. The area itself isn't sketchy at all; the gates work all by code (both going in and coming out). The units also seem to insulate pretty well and while I have things that are sensitive to heat, they haven't been too affected. Very much recommend Craft Self Storage and also Mr. Craft's business. read more

Very happy that we rented a storage unit from Mr. Craft! It was well worth the space and the hassle of storing our Hokies' gear back at home. We managed to set-up, pay, and close-out the unit electronically (super easy). We were pleased by the convenience to 81, 460, and the VT Campus. We rented a 10x10 and had plenty of space for trunks, furniture, household goods and more! Everything stayed clean, dry, and mold free (and this wasn't a climate controlled unit). Very satisfied and we plan to return in May 2019! Thank you! read more

I told Mr. Warner of an impending move within a 2-week window but did not have the specific dates at that time. He arranged his schedule to meet with me in my home 2 days after my semi-urgent phone call. Arriving right on time Mr. Warner quickly walked thru the entire 2-story house and finished basement to assess my moving needs and said he would call the following day with an estimate. Just as promised Mr. Warner called the next day with the estimate which was considerably lower than another mover I had contacted. During the conversation I provided the preferred week for the move and he arranged for the move to occur precisely when I needed it. On packing day 4 representatives arrived and worked tirelessly for about 7 hours packing boxes and other matters associated with the move. The next day the Allied van rolled up to my house and the driver and crew completely loaded all the furniture and "last minute" packing as needed. The loading was made more difficult because of rain and cold temperatures along with a steep driveway to traverse. At conclusion of the process the moving crew which included Corey and Michael, and two more whose names escape me all conducted themselves with professionalism in every way. Each was friendly, polite and courteous, start to finish. I regret I cannot remember the names of the other two men. On delivery day all was unloaded with care and placed where we wanted the items. Nothing was broken, damaged or lost. These workers along with Page Warner and Robin Baker, move coordinator, are above reproach. I have moved several times over the years both in and out of the military. This move was from southwestern Virginia east to Williamsburg. Without a doubt, this was the easiest move I've ever made with the most professional crew I've ever seen. Each member of the crew from packing and loading day to delivery day worked well together in an organized, unified way. I highly recommend Dunmar Moving Systems and the crews from Roanoke. They have earned 10 stars but I can only rate them with five. Thanks Dunmar for a job well done.

Second, I asked if my last month could be prorated since we moved out the day after the payment was received. They said they could not prorate and charged me the full fee for one day of use. I rented two storage units from Craft Storage Units. I made my decision to use their services compared to others located within the Christiansburg/New River Valley vicinity for various of reasons: 1) Occasionally, I go to storage auctions when people fail to pay their bills. I've been to many storage facilities and I was quite impressed with the upkeep of this particular location. It just seemed "clean" compared to others I had ever visited. 2) The location is great. Located near the interstate, bypass and easy to get to coming from all sides. 3) The price was in alignment with other facilities. And Mr. Craft also offers a great deal with paying upfront for a few months and getting a free month of rent. 4) Bill Craft was very easy to work with. I needed an additional unit to keep additional stuff in. Mr. Craft got me a unit within 12 hours of my call. All in all, I can not say one negative thing about this facility and overall management of Craft Storage. I would recommend to my friends, family and now the entire Yelp community. read more

I rented a spacious 10 x 10 unit for the summer for my VT Hokie from Craft Self Storage, for less than the cost of a 5 x 10 everywhere else. Mr. Bill Craft, the owner, is personable and responsive and made the experience so easy; he was a delight to do business with. The facility is clean and secure, and my son's belongings were in no danger from the elements outside. I highly recommend Craft Self Storage to all Hokies and anyone who needs a little extra storage in the Christiansburg/Blacksburg area. I've rented from Mr. Craft on different occasions and I'll definitely be back the next time I need storage space. The units are very well kept. Our stuff never got wet or overrun with pests, the rows are big enough to fit a moving truck down, the area is safe (secure units behind a locked gate), and the prices are incredibly fair. This storage facility is clean. The pavement has a slight angle so no worries about water damage. I never saw a bug and never saw a sign of a mouse. It is fenced, but with your security code you can get in it anytime. The payment box is handy. read more
