I feel compelled to give Larry another review. I bought an ECG aluminum guitar. I waited more than two years to get it and when it arrived the neck was off. I could have sent it back to ECG for a fix, but I was looking at a really long repair wait time. So I took it to Larry. Somehow, he managed to bend the neck back into shape. Then he did his standard set up. It plays beautifully now. When I picked it up, he apologized for not being able to get the neck quite where he wanted it, which is LOL funny because it plays perfectly. He's a master and a genuinely good human. read more

Certainly not the cheapest guy to set up a guitar. But, if you want it intonated properly then it makes all the sense in the world. Larry set up all my guitars for years. Has never been rude or come across in any other way other than a very pleasant man. He never cried or belly ached about a floyd rose. The only guy I know that can setup a dtuna properly. Larry Cragg is the best guitar technician on the face of the planate! There is no if, ands or buts about it. He knows how to bring guitars to a new level, making them well balanced and very playable. I look my Martin to him which was in bad shape. The neck was bent, the bridge was lifted and the wood was tired. He revitalized the color in the wood, straitened the neck and gave it one of his signature shakings, put new bridge pins in and carved a new custom bone bridge saddle. My guitar went from difficult to play and muffled, to easy to play and bright. The tone on it is fantastic now and its a joy to play. Larry came highly recommended to me by my friend Neil and Now I recommend him highly to all of my friends. If you care about your instrument, take it to Larry Cragg. I took a 40-year-old Guild that had become nearly unplayable to Larry. Larry pointed out how the neck was no longer straight, the bridge was coming unglued, and that the top was pulling apart along a glued seam. He not only fixed all of these issues, but made several other adjustments, returning a better-than-new guitar to me. I don't know how he was able to fix the split seam, but it is now seamless and the finish is perfect. He clearly loves his work. So do I. read more

Follow up to my lengthy review: After 8 months of California touring, two different trips to Fender Masters Build Services in Corona, and two different setup attempts from a Custom Shop Authorized repair facility in San Jose, both facilities insisted there's nothing wrong with the tele. I knew different. I circled back to Larry. He noticed many discrepancies in the previous set up attempts and corrected them. Larry really listened to my complaints, and made adjustments to the guitar based on what I was talking about and got it playing how I wanted it- buttery low consistent action up and down the neck, with no hint of buzzing or fretting out or loss of sustain anywhere. Larry will get your guitar set up how you want it and is so willing to work with his customers in achieving that goal. After 8 months in and out of the hands of Fender "experts" and Fender themselves ( on 2 different occasions) Larry was the only person who could get my guitar set up to my satisfaction. If you want the very best out of your guitar, Larry is the easy choice. Elvin Bishop, Carlos Santana, Neil Young and countless others can't be wrong. They aren't.
