At first I was somewhat skeptical of reiki, but after having two sessions I'm a full convert. In my view, reiki helps clear out negative energies that might be stuck inside your body. These energies can lead to depression, pains in the body, and a general feeling of anxiety. The reiki practioner targets these energies and helps release them. Janet talked with me first about my needs and hopes for the session, and asked me to remain flexible with the outcome--and I'm glad she did because more was released than I ever thought possible. I began a full sleeve and had several pieces placed and then moved on to water colors as the background. The "artist" I went to did a good job on the multiple pieces, and said he could absolutely do water colors as the background. Once the session began I noticed it wasn't getting better, but he assured me to trust the process. After 5 sessions and arrived for my 6th I was very concerned as my arm looked like a child may have polka dotted me from top to bottom. He wanted to begin on the back of my arm first and it just so happened another artist walked by and said "what is that?". My so called artist said "I'm doing a spin off on her elbow." Guess what? I had no idea he was doing circles around my elbow. I immediately made him stop and I left. For the past 5 years I have been wearing nothing but long sleeve shirts because I was so embarrassed of my arm. I found a few other tattoo shops along the way that said they couldn't fix it unless we lightened the background and I wanted it black. No one would help me so I gave up because I really thought no tattoo shop in the tri cities was worth their salt. So, this past summer while on vacation, I was in 100 degrees wearing long sleeve, so I gave it another go at a shop in Gray TN. I was completely hosed. I went in for a 2 hour session and Chelsey. the "artist" got up multiple times and left me sitting. she had to get a drink, she had to get a table that someone was dropping off...etc.... she charged me for the full 2 hours when it was like 30 minutes. I was done! I let another season pass and I could not take it anymore. I found Little Chicago and I decided this would be my last attempt. it was my last attempt because my arm is now almost 100% complete and beautiful all because of an artist named Raven. I cannot believe how much she has changed this arm and it's truly a masterpiece. I am so excited to be back in short sleeve shirts and my confidence level is so high because of her work. Me and my good friend were in Asheville and decided to get matching tattoos. We called around and…read morethis place was recommended to us so we said why not. We wanted to get the word hope with a watercolor background. The people were fantastic. Everyone was really nice and welcoming. The place was beyond clean. It was a little weird that they had someone dying hair right next to us but I'm not going to judge. I believe our tattoo artist name was Dan but I'm not 100% sure. He didn't give us a business card. But he had recently come back from not working there for awhile so his name was not on the website. He said he specializes in watercolor so I was on board. No this isn't my first watercolor tattoo so I know the process. He decided to use only two colors. When I got my other watercolor tattoo my artist used a wide range of colors to get the idea that the colors were mixed together. He decided instead of using a stencil for the water color piece he would draw it with watery ink and then tattoo a gray outline as to were the color should be. And that's done if you could cover it with colors but that didn't happen. When I got it I loved it! Now looking at it I'm seeing little imperfections that shouldn't be there. There are small dots that aren't filled in. The outline is showing which in my opinion ruins the effect. And the colors do not look blended they just look like one was placed over the other. Overall, the place was amazing and the people where nice but the tattoo falls short. I don't recommend this place for your tattoo.

Then the snowstorm hit! We both got snowed in and couldn't make it in to the shop for the appointment. He reworked his schedule to make sure I could get in before my visit was over. On top of his flexibility, the man is a master of his craft and a damn fine artist. He had an amazing design that captured exactly what I wanted. He is fast and efficient with your time and has Netflix, if you're so inclined, to watch while he works (I suggest a nature documentary if you're into it. Leads to fun dialogue.)
