I've only stopped a handful of times and maybe bought a pickle or chips. There wasn't a large selection of anything back then. I recently saw someone on TikTok patronize the store and I remembered this being a staple of the community(or so I thought.) I was in the area and needed a "pick me up." I opened the door, took one step in and was immediately transported back to the early 1990's. I took a step back and returned to 2026, lol. I fully entered and was amazed at how nothing's changed since my teenage years. I went to the cooler for a Red Bull but it looks like they don't sell it. There was plenty of beer though. I then went up front to inquire about 5 Hour Energy. There was one case of regular strength for individual sale. That wasn't enough for me so I politely declined and mentioned I was hoping for extra strength. I began to walk out when the cashier gave me unsolicited caution about "taking that stuff." I just said, oh ok." I love boudin just as much as the next person but I highly doubt M&S cautions every customer about the other unnatural products they sell.
