Only 4E yoga studio had easy to navigate site with schedule and other details. Attended classes in the morning before all wine tasting shenanigans. It is very conveniently located in downtown McMinnville so you can go and explore straight after class. They rent mats out and mat towel is not required - after practice spray and small towels are provided to clean the mats. Little towels for hot classes, blocks, blankets, straps provided (free of charge). Studio is very clean and spacious. Modern designed. Love the floor - you can actually grab it and get into deeper stretch. Very enthusiastic and welcoming teachers.

It's in a bit of flux though, as it appears to be going through an ownership change (there's some "sold" signs on about half the equipment.) McMinnville is about halfway between Portland and the coast, so it's nice to have a complete gym when you have a stopover. Highlights of the gym include a full set of dumbbells, with a solid mirror situation, a complete set of the white boxy frame machines/plate loaders (solid mix of hammer strength, life fitness, etc) a full locker room with a steam room and showers. This gym is in good condition and has a good atmosphere. Good value and quality for the location and cost.

Christine, the owner, is so knowledgeable about the human body, chakras, energy work, and so much more. Each class is a new and different experience that she tailors to the people present and what she is feeling at the time. We always leave feeling lighter and more centered than we did when we arrived. Mary has the "Buti" yoga class which is more high intensity and super fun! Check the website for times! This studio is a blessing to the community of Newberg. Everyone is welcome, and it truly does feel like it is for "All People". Give it a try sometime and you will not regret it!

First Street Yoga is the real deal! It is located on the second floor of a building in old town…read moreNewberg. To access you enter in the rear of the building off of Second Ave. between College and Howard. There is free parking lot behind the building shared with Bank of America and a few other businesses. I am attending the Level I classes so I will cannot comment on Levels II & III but I am very impressed with their program so far. It differs from other Yoga classes I have taken at various fitness clubs in that the class moves at a slower pace. Instead of flowing quickly from pose to pose there is more time spent trying to achieve proper alignment. They also encourage greater use of props such as blankets, blocks, and straps than I have seen before. I am recovering from a back injury and after a year of physical therapy my physical therapist recommended Yoga to help lengthen tight muscle groups, strengthen smaller underutilized muscles, and improve posture. I am very cautious about reinjuring myself so I value the extra time the instructors take to teach proper alignmment. It is possible that some might find the pace of the class too slow. Those students might enjoy the Level II & III classes. I find that I can always challenge myself in class so I am not looking for more at this point. Classes are $15 for walk ins and there are discounts available for multiple class packages.

Brant is highly trained in this method and no class was exactly the same. Creativity was amazing. I also learned the wide range of people taking the course and yet we were all united in spirit, and that kindness/compassion must be in whomever you talk with, as you have no idea what they are dealing with daily. I've also taken Beginner Yoga with him. I'm limited in knee ability some and he always has a solution which is extremely encouraging. I highly recommend any of the classes Brant teaches.

These classes, in addition to the evening 15-min meditation he is providing our community, have been some of my most treasured moments of relaxation and centering for my body and soul. Fantastic place to bring kids up to 5 years old on a rainy day in McMinnville…read more We're visiting from out of town and we aren't used to all this rainy Oregon weather. So we tried to go to the other indoor playground, but they were closed. We were loitering in the parking lot and I asked a mom if there was any other place we could go. She suggested the Community Center and she took off super quick; I think she suspicioned that I was hitting on her. Anyway, we came here to find a friendly statue of Abraham Lincoln on a welcoming bench. Then we went inside to find friendly customer service at the front desk. It seems they have a lot of other facilities in the building, but we were there just for the toddlers playroom. It's for kids up to 5 years old. They welcomed us for our one-year-old and also let in our 6-year-old as long as she respected the other kids and the toys. It's a small fee for all-day use, with come-and-go privileges. They have a bunch of different kinds of toys that are best suited for kids 5 years or less. They have cooking sets, baby sets, toy cars and ride-in cars, balls, play mats, a couple small play structures, and small book shelf. There is a diaper changing table with wipes, bags for dirty diapers, and trash cans. One room has a tiled floor where people can eat snacks. The other, connected room is carpeted with no food allowed. Extra wipes are there for parents to clean toys after use. It seemed like the other clientele were regulars. They were nice enough and outgoing at times. I highly recommend this place on rainy days for locals and visitors alike. I'm sure there are bathrooms, but we didn't check them out.
