Play Laugh & Grow - Family Christmas party

Play Laugh & Grow

Play, Laugh, & Grow has been nothing short of amazing for my kids!! We moved to Raymond, NH from MA…read moreand we were looking for a preschool for our 3 & 4 year olds. They had never attended preschool before so we were (and they!) were very nervous. PLG made us feel like family instantly! They were so welcoming and accommodating. They are constantly sending pics and updates throughout the day through the app which put me at ease. They do awesome and fun activities during the day. My kids can't wait to go to school the next day. My daughter actually gets upset when I pick her up because she doesn't want to leave! lol If you are looking for a preschool for your child, look no further! PLG is absolutely wonderful!! Lastly, their pricing is very competitive. I have friends who are paying double what we pay! The facility is also brand new and beautiful! Everything is super clean and they have an awesome new playground too! We couldn't be happier :)

My child needed socialization & went 2 days a week Mon & Fri. We were new & missed 2 snow days. I…read moremessaged the owner Kristy DeCesare & said Monday is a holiday could my daughter make up that day. She was extremely rude and said no there are no make ups. I said there are 9 holidays that fall on her day . She said you pay for all of them & we don't let you make up any days. Good Luck . There's a wait list all over town. I called her to get more clarity & her AD answered . She was coarse, uncaring & just as rude. She said I don't care. Every daycare in town is full. Good Luck finding one. You should have known this before you signed up. I didn't know & their policy should be more transparent about closed days especially if the customers pays for the days. However , it's their business they can make up whatever policy they want. However, their heartless attitude , rudeness & bullying behavior is not okay. They take advantage of mother's stuck with no other availability around town. Kristy also has a two week policy when leaving and she told me my child could not finish the two weeks. She said we are done. Good Luck finding a center. Her policies are in place for her only. I asked on the town's FB page about peoples' experience with PLAY LAUGH & GROW. I got 8 negative messages & one positive one. They complained about the etiquette of owners & AD ; kids getting hurt without an accident report , several more complaints & said stay away from this center . The owner text me how dare you asked the community about my business . I said, " I am a customer. Customers go by word of mouth. " I told her I got several bad messages about her business in a few hours. She text me "If you make a bad review about PLAY LAUGH & GROW I will take you to court and my lawyer demands you to send all the messages I got on FB." Threatening me if I write a bad review is a violating of the Customer Review Fairness Act. A day later , I got a call from a Chester police officer saying Kristy called them seeing if they could advise me not to make a bad review. I am only expressing my honest experience with Kristy DeCesare and Rachel Whiteneck at PLAY , LAUGH & GROW hoping this will give future customers information & the first amendment gives me the right to do so. She had a few nice ladies working there . Unfortunately, one left. This business has too many red flags. I wouldn't recommend it at all. In my opinion, they are focusing solely on the $ and are ignoring the heart and soul of the business; the families . They shouldn't call themselves a preschool simply a daycare. If anyone doubts these communications happened please contact me . I have all of Kristy's text saved & the officer's message. I don't enjoy making a bad review. However, in this case I was morally treated badly & felt obliged to document this in hope this facility will start caring about the way the treat people.

If I could give it 0, I would. Kayte (director) and Jen (owner) lied to me about having a spot on…read morethe waitlist, reversing their statements once a spot was open. Instead, labeling my child as needing "intensive behavioral support" based on our tour, where he was well behaved and the staff never corrected or redirected him. They used this need to justify not allowing him to attend at that location, stating he needed to attend one of their other locations, which could over a smaller class size which could better support his behavior problem. Yet when I asked for their observations so that I could address it with my medical team, I was told nothing. What type of person would lie about a 2 year old? And if they weren't lying, then why not support a mother in getting a child proper care by supplying evidence to bring to the doctor? Clearly, it's not about the children, just the money. Such a shame.

We have two kids at AP2G and we couldn't say more about this nature based school!…read more First off they have done an amazing job handling COVID and dealing with state regs and everything having to do with keeping the kids safe. They take this very seriously and we are so thankful as we've been lucky to have them open and available during most of the pandemic! From the moment we first toured the school we knew Jen's attitude (and the schools mantra) about nature based learning were aligned with our goals of providing structure and learning together with the outdoors and exploring. Jen and her staff communicate well and really strive to get to know each family - they have become family to us! We recommend this school to all of our friends moving to the area!

We interviewed and toured a lot of daycare centers before bringing our newborn to DCEC. This school…read moreis by far the BEST! I second every kind thing throughout these reviews. From being able to watch your child while you're at work to the hand written notes that they leave about your child's day, to the incident reports to see how something was handled; they're INCREDIBLE. I email the staff at least once a week with a question or a food substitute for our son and receive an immediate response. Everyone who works there treats you with kindness and respect and you really feel like your child is part of a little family and our son truly loves his teachers! I would recommend this daycare without hesitation to ANYONE!

The negative post made earlier this week is truly upsetting, as someone who has two children that…read moreare and have gone through this center - and have loved every second of it. From eight weeks old, to five years old, my daughter thrived at Discovery. The same teachers that she had, my son now has. The daycare is as clean as any daycare is going to be. I can tell you, it is more sanitary than my house, with two kids, at the end of a (week) end day with them. SO, how they keep it as clean as they do, with more than two kids in each room - is truly something. As for potty training - I actually give them credit for potty training my kids. My husband always say, "we got lucky!" but really, the teachers did it for us. Positive reinforcement, continual reminders, sticker charts - they did it all to make sure their potty days were successful ones. The staff is hands down the best, and so many have been there for so long. Most who are Moms, also have their kids there in other rooms. That speaks volumes to me. IN addition to that - there are several who have left for college, and come back for summers, or who leave hoping to make more money (because everyone knows how underpaid child education is) and then come back! Everyday, we get a print out and a hand written note about what our kids did that day, if they were happy/sad/sensitive, what they played with, etc. They spend so much time outside, that at tub time every night, we could make our own sandbox :-) In the bigger room, just before Kindergarten, they spend less time outside, but that is because they are preparing them for what lies ahead in Kindergarten! At my daughter's first parent/teacher meeting in Kindergarten - we were told that she is excelling, and far above where she is expected to be at this point, one month into the school year!! Could not be more proud, and owe that thanks to Discovery. Any concern, though there be few, are always thoughtfully addressed by the owner and the staff. The comments that the ratio of children to teachers is high depends on what your opinion is, really. The state has regulations - and they have as many kids as possible to teachers, in order to run a profitable business. Otherwise, why run the business? Discovery - you keep doing you. I'd send my kids there again in a heartbeat, and hope that the "one person who is saved" by the negative post from earlier (jeesh) reads *this* post - and realizes that from a MOTHER, (not a disgruntled employee) you'd be doing your kids, and yourself a favor - to send them to such a great school.
