The students have a voice in choosing what they want to learn about. It's like a college where students are given credits and they demonstrate learning by demonstrating project work and reflecting on themselves - rather than just memorizing information/ taking tests. We are so lucky we found such an amazing learning environment for our daughter, which will encourage her to use her voice, practice critical thinking and love the community around her. Here are some of the things we like about Seacoast Waldorf School: 1) the emphasis on creativity and a lifelong love of learning (my kids LOVE going to school!) 2) the fact that kids learn two languages (Spanish and German) starting in 1st grade 3) the emphasis on integrating arts into learning (for example, knitting helps with math, prepares kids for reading and improves concentration - who knew!) 4) music (violin and recorder in the grades; songs and movement, too) 5) outdoor/farming/nature emphasis (great for my two very active boys!) 6) an academic program that is deep, rich, and experiential. 7) being surrounded by like-minded families that want to give their children a real 'childhood', are engaged and involved and value all of the above. (It was his first school ever- He is only 2 yrs old.) Then suddenly in January their teachers informed us that they would not be able to keep him as a full time student the following year. We have two children and my husband and I are both professionals with strict schedules. It was a shock to suddenly be told that our child could only be a student from 8:30 to 11:30am. When we asked them why, they said he would not take naps. Strange, both our children nap regularly EVERYDAY. I was able to talk to the some of the other parents who have children in the same class as my son. A few of them mentioned that their kids also do not nap, but their children WERE attending full time next year. It turns out these families have have other siblings attending Cornerstone. That made us feel that the school was exhibiting some bias against our child. We had heard very little communication from the school during his first 6 months, just mostly generic daily comms, but suddenly we began getting communications 2-3x per week detailing complaints such as our son stepping on bugs, playing with sticks too much or even chewing his food with his mouth open, really?! He was only 2! This continued for weeks which made us feel bullied. This school makes up a lot of stories to cover up their own lies that they tell to parents. The toddler teachers and the Head of school, Lee-Ann are very judgmental. Once the She finds out that you are asking questions about the teachers, some of which are not certified, or questioning their "curriculum", She will make sure that you and your child will have a terrible year filled with multiple early dismissals which cause you to scramble for babysitting coverage or take personal time. Since we been there, the Toddler House class size has dropped by over a third. Do your research, this school has had a lot of issues with the Board of Education and has had multiple lawsuits filed against them, all in the public record. The upper school has a good reputation but their Toddler House leaves a lot to be desired. The reason for my review is to help parents really ask the RIGHT questions before going into this school. Good luck to anyone who is considering entering their child into the Toddler-House.

Both children passed the written exam and driving exam on their first attempts. I find the instructors go above and beyond to help accommodate students' schedules and special needs. They have amazing flexibility in their scheduling to accommodate the vast needs of the students attending the school. Their communication with me was great when I had questions. The instructors are also very relatable for the students, and the feedback from my children was overwhelmingly positive. Would highly recommend!

The girls who do the driving hours are all young, they may be the owner's daughters, and they did highway driving, parking and parallel parking once. The majority of drives were on roads that weren't very busy and he was only exposed to navigating difficult situations with me. As any parent knows, the dynamic is much different with a driving instructor than a parent. He was not adequately prepared for the state written exam, they did a Kahoot on their phones to study vs using the book that the state tests from. I have heard of unprofessional behavior from the instructors from other parents, luckily we didn't have that experience. I would encourage parents to seek a different driving school if they want their child adequately prepared for the road.

The administration seems to be trying to preserve the reputation of the school instead of just doing the next right thing. It's also not necessarily a good place for every smart kid. It's designed to support the superstar kids, and that's not a bad thing. It's easily the smartest and most talented collection of people I've ever been around. Amazing people who've started schools, won Tonys, written academic masterpieces, and that just a couple people in my own class. If you think you're one of those superstars, this could be the place for you. But it's easy to fall through the cracks when you're not in the top 10% of the class. You need to be able to make your own schedule and have a sense of who you are. This is not for immature kids! Bottom line: expensive school, worth every penny if you're self-motivated and ambitious. Plenty of financial aid to deserving kids who could not otherwise afford it. Or you can be the scion of a family that can afford its own jet. These are the best ways to get through. The rest of us do well, and we have really cool friends 30 years later.

Because of his driving time with Mr. B he has developed so much confidence and was able to shake off a lot of his nerves he was holding onto. The way he taught the class my son said was both fun and insightful. He is not only there for the students but for their parents as well. Mr. B provides open communication and will give you pointers on what he has seen your child present in class to help you teach your child if you ask. My son learned so much from him and passed his knowledge test at thr DMV with ease. Road test is coming up but thanks to Mr. B I am confident my son will do fine there as well. UNH, DEMN Nursing Program…read more My best friend's experience as a graduate nursing student at the University of New Hampshire (UNH) Direct Entry Master of Science Nursing(DEMN) was deeply disappointing and marked by a pervasive sense of discrimination and unfair treatment. From the outset, she felt unsupported and singled out by the faculty, particularly in the Fundamentals of Nursing course. Despite her best efforts and a passing GPA, she was denied the help she needed to succeed and ultimately forced to withdraw from the program. This lack of support was not an isolated incident. Throughout her time at UNH, she witnessed a disturbing pattern of neglect and discouragement towards struggling students. Professors, like Deborah Simonton, the Director Of Nursing, and the Dean of Graduate School showed NO interest in helping students improve and instead encouraged them to quit. This created a hostile and unwelcoming environment, particularly for those without prior healthcare experience. Furthermore, she encountered numerous instances of discrimination outside the classroom. She was subjected to inappropriate and demeaning comments by staff members, and her concerns about her living conditions were repeatedly ignored. These experiences left her feeling isolated and devalued, and they contributed to a significant decline in her mental and emotional well-being. Overall, my best friend's time at UNH was a profoundly negative experience. The university's lack of support for struggling students, combined with a pervasive culture of discrimination, created a hostile and unwelcoming environment. I would strongly caution prospective students, particularly those from diverse backgrounds or without prior healthcare experience, against attending this institution. UNH's failure to uphold its stated values of diversity and inclusion is a serious issue that needs to be addressed.
