Wes came out to look at things to see what I needed. He checked the roof area of the "leak" and confirmed it was not soft. He then described that the behavior was very similar to an "ice dam" and he clearly educated me on how that can be remedied. Here is what is awesome. He, like I, thought it was odd that this would happen after 20+ years, so he thought a bit and checked the attic. He found that i had a gap in the pipes up there which was causing hot air to build up inside the attic which is likely what caused the ice dam! I had that fixed over the weekend, so once we get more snow, i'll be able to confirm that that solved the issue. So, my review is "Trust". He could have gouged me and told me the roof was soft and needed to be replaced. He also could have said that i need cables for the ice dam. But Wes kept on it to identify the actual problem.
