The best Barber Shop, nothing like the barber shops I went to as a young boy. The shop is first-class and amazing wall art. The whole staff is amazing and extremely talented. My barber is Craig a real artist in his own right. He introduced me to a new style. I was sick of going to women's salons. Which were limited to how do you want your part on the left side or the right side. And great to be able to carry on a conversation about guy stuff. Like Guns how do you prefer to carry and what guns do you recommend? Music nothing that's going put you to sleep. I like my new look and one women said my hair looks beautiful. I was shocked I never had anyone say anything like that before. Besides the new style is low maintenance and quicker to take care and time saving. Craig you are a real artist and I 'm so happy I ended up one day walking into your shop. And so lucky to have you as my barber. Sometimes we need to make a change in our lives going forward. Tried out this barber for the first time the other day. I saw Jonathan for my appointment and he did a fantastic job. I didn't have a super detailed idea of what I wanted, but he asked a couple of questions and fixed me up great. The shop is super nice, very welcoming and relaxed, and they take really good care of you while you're there. I got home afterward and realized that one of the things I wanted done didn't actually look how I thought it would. I hit up the store on FB and they were happy to squeeze me in the next day and get it changed to my liking, even though it was my mistake and not theirs! read more

I really wanted to like them... I booked the presidential for both my husband and my son-in-law. This is Cream's highest level of service. My husband arrive 15 minutes before his appointment and was told to go to the area where clients with appointments check in. The receptionist couldn't find their appointments; in the meantime, several other clients came in to say they have the same appointment time. My husband was told the barber was running late while another barber tried to reschedule the overbooked clients. Needless to say, my husband sat for a half an hour while no one updated him on the situation and ended up leaving. I understand that mistakes happen and sent a private message to Cream explaining the circumstances and if something could be done. It's been two days, I know that they've seen the message, but they never responded. I would have preferred to call the owner but the business line has been disconnected. read more

Very cool space with awesome staff. I saw Tanner for my cut and the dude is a straight up artist! I feel like a lot of times traditional stylists at salons won't do a dramatic cut for me because they are scared I'll be upset with the results/ they aren't used to doing that, but this was definitely not the case here. Tanner knew exactly what I wanted and delivered perfectly. I love my hair and I can't wait to go back. So excited to have found such a good fit with this barber and this shop. Sandy also offers waxing services on Fridays and she is the ONLY person who can touch these brows. I'm located near Ferndale but damn! These guys make it worth the drive! Edit: I want to also point out that the shop is under new ownership as of a few months ago. Makes me sad to see all the bummer reviews from before! read more

I'm a girl so I really have no need to be here, but my husband got a want to get his beard lined up. He's a walk-in and was taken back right away. They are independent barbers, so you need to know their number to make appointments. No business line. No big deal. I really like the style in here. Comfortable. I'm a hairstylist and cut his hair before we came, but I know my limits. Beard linework is not my thing. If he likes this, I won't stop him from getting the presidential treatment. He deseaves it. Wow. Was a bit hesitant at first always the type to go to cheap clips. Going Vegas tomorrow so I wanted something a little special. What I got was a red carpet treatment. From the minute you walk in its VIP treatment. They only accept cash so remember before arriving. Walk-in hair cut was only 20. Can't beat that for how good you will look after. First went to Cream for my brother's wedding and have been going back ever since. Wes, is my barber, who is also the owner. Very chill atmosphere and they having music playing which I think is cool as well. The only negative is that sometimes they fall behind on appointments, but I don't mind waiting because the qaulity is top notch. read more

I want so bad to give this place 5 stars based on my initial experience, but I'm going to give it a couple more visits before I do that. My husband had his hair cut here for the first time last weekend. He waited almost an hour and a half, but he said the wait was worth it. Next time he will make an appointment! But he was so happy with his haircut and the attention the barber put in. The cut itself took an hour and only cost $20. I don't know how it was only $20, so we compensated w/ a good tip. Easily put the best place for a cut and a shave, I work in Royal Oak and nothing in that area even touches the quality of Cream. If you want the best just make an appointment and see for yourself. I am busy and about every 3 weeks or so this is an hour I get to just relax, get a great cut, a hot towel shave and leave feeling like a million bucks... Treat yourself! read more

Seems like a lot of hype. I honestly got a better haircut for half the price across the street at Great Clips, and I'm very picky and detail-oriented. Cream had a very weird hipster sort of vibe. Lots of really young guys cutting hair with Z.Z. Top beards and heavy tattooing. I felt like an alien from another planet. The whole time I was there, which was almost 50 minutes for a simple trim (!!!), I was never facing a mirror (until the very end when my hair was finished), and that made me nervous and uncomfortable. Also, he spent a good thirty minutes scrubbing the same part of my scalp with various clippers, which was very bizarre to me and definitely excessive. It also irritated my scalp. I've buzzed my own hair for years. You don't need to go over and over the same patch of hair that much for any reason. My barber was more interested in having conversations with his co-workers about football and the awful Eminem music they were playing than trying to have one with me. It was super socially awkward. I'm a professional, conservatively-dressed but politically and intellectually progressive guy in his 30s, and I felt really out of place here, almost like an intruder; as I imagine anyone would who isn't an Eminem fan or a hipster. Overall, I walked out with an okay haircut, but I've gotten better at BoRics for half the price, not to mention in less than half the time. I don't mind paying premium costs for premium services or products, but this just was nothing special. read more

Had two appointments at 6:00PM for my husband and my son. We arrived at 5:40PM and stayed until a few minutes past 6:20. We were never, ever acknowledged -- not a "hi," "have you been helped?" "we are running behind..." nothing. People who came in after us were greeted and taken back and we were completely overlooked, like we weren't even there. Instead he got a fabulous Hollywood caliber haircut that was more than worth the $16 price tag. The barbers here are skilled and know their stuff - big time. Cream was terrible. Made an appointment for 3pm. I showed up at 2:55 and was told it would be 15 minutes. Next thing I know it is 3:30. I decided to leave. How could I enjoy a shave and a trim when I was boiling mad. Service is terrible. Oh they did offer me a beer while I was waiting. That is a nice touch but I came for a shave and a trim, I can get beer anywhere. That is the last time I will enter the building. Customer service is awful....wasted an hour of my day. read more

Make an appointment, pay $10 for the privilege, show up on time--then wait 15 minutes for no one to acknowledge you. Skipped the haircut, made an appointment with my Standard Barber downtown while I waited. I'd like to have an alternate barber one my commute home to GI, this isn't going to be it. I guess my lack of tattoos, Duck Dynasty beard and generally business like attire made me invisible. You may be skilled barbers but you stink at running a business. read more
