This was my first visit to DB's in Wyandotte, and honestly, I wish I'd found them sooner. I've lived in Southgate for just over five years and have tried several so-called barbers in the area. In my opinion, DB's outdoes all of them--and for a lot less money. My hair was down to my collar, and Sue took great care of me. She was professional, welcoming, and very accommodating. I walked out actually looking and feeling like a new man, which doesn't happen often these days. The entire staff was friendly and made the experience relaxed and comfortable. The shop itself has a strong sports theme, which I really enjoyed--especially since my favorite team, the Wolverines, were front and center. There are a couple of TVs in front of you while the barbers work, plus easygoing conversation that makes the time fly by. I've been to places that slap the word "barbershop" on the door and think posters and attitude make up for skill. DB's proves that a real barbershop is about knowing how to cut hair, keeping up with current styles, and treating customers right. Great local business. I walked in for the first time and was greeted with a friendly smile and acknowledgement. Brenda was amazing. A great conversationalist and very good at cutting hair to my liking. She asked exactly what I wanted and did it. Great experience and will definitely be going back. Honestly i'm kind of shocked i'm making this review. i have been going to this place for the better part of 2 years for all my haircuts. i normally have this nice older lady with grey hair who does my hair on saturdays. Today i did not get her and instead, someone i've never had. i showed her the two pictures below as a reference photo. the following photos are what she gave me after i was done. i am about 3 months into minoxidil currently and was waiting for my hair to stop falling out so i could grow my hair back after a cut. The lady i got was very nice and we talked a lot although when she showed me my hair i was almost sick to my stomach. she had cut off any coverage hair i had and it looked nothing like the photo. she left my beard misaligned and combed my hair STRAIGHT DOWN as if that was the photo. this experience was so bad that i dont think i will ever go back and if i do i will only have the older lady cut my hair. the photos are mixed up but see for yourself how different they look... read more

I politely asked if she was okay with doing a kid's cut (because she seemed annoyed) and instead of politely declining she snapped "not if he's wiggling around, I'm not gonna do it". I am a female and I thought I would try a barber shop for a haircut. By chance I stopped at DB's. I am so glad I did. I walked in and asked if they cut women's hair. The female there said not usually but Dan interjected and said sure. He could probably tell it would not be a complicated crazy layering. I like spikey. Oh my gosh. DB Barber Shop is the spot for a cut and or a beard trim. I usually get a cut from Dan or the other cat in the last chair in back. Both of them have skills for sure. I know the two ladies that cut, have their chairs full so they can cut with the best as well. They have HDTV's playing sports at all times along with a bunch of cool Detroit sports memorabilia on the walls. If you're a magazine person they have a bunch of those too. After you go to DB's a few times everybody knows your name and treat you like family. I am hip to the barber game, and know what to look for in a solid barber. DB's definitely can hold it down for you with an excellent cut. 100% stop in and get a an excellent cut for a reasonable price. read more

I found this gem when I was living in Wyandotte for awhile - even after moving from the city I still go back to this barber. Every barber is great and has never let me down. Prices are fair. Plus the place just makes you feel comfortable. The interior is bright/inviting. It's decked out with sports memorabilia. Which normally leads the Saturday morning discussion. All in all it's just a great place and I have no intention of trying to find another barber. read more

Not a mask in sight!!! Walked in and 3 people in the shop. No one masked up. The one barber said she could put on a mask, which she did after pulling it out of a drawer full of combs & stuff. Since I have been going to DB's they have completely remodeled the shop! They have several large TV's so you can catch up on whatever sport your into. My haircut is always perfect. Went there yesterday and it was honestly the best hair cut I've ever had. I always went to other places like borics and not saying they did a bad job but these people know how to cut a dudes hair. A lot of older guys came in talking about "back then" it was the barber shop feel I was looking for. I don't remember the guys name that cut my hair, he had a shaved head that's all I remember but he was friendly professional and knew what he was doing.
