My Explorer was in need of the rear end to be rebuilt after 100,000 miles, as it started howling on a recent trip. I was expecting this not to be a cheap repair but with the expertise of SDL, they still made it reasonable and what I was expecting to pay. I also brought up a couple of small leaks on my transfer case and Phil's team included the repair as part of the initial quote! If you're looking for a repair shop to talk to you in unicorns in pixie dust, please get that out of your mind before you walk in the door as you will basically get a point blank description of what is wrong with your vehicle and what is needed for them to complete any service to your vehicle. I've been to countless convertible expert shops to slow or stop the leak for over 13 years and most made the leak worse. I had the top replaced after re-gluing the back window in place 5 times over the years. Then while at 7th Gear BMW specialist Repair Shop in Schaumburg IL. Ben recommended going to Expert Auto Collision Repair & Painting in Schaumburg IL. for some minor painting on the corvette while there I asked about the leaking top and Brad recommended. FOR AUTO CONVERTIBLE TOO REPLACEMENT REPAIR AND INTERIOR WORK I RECOMMEND BELLA AUTO INTERIOR AND CONVERTIBLE TOP REPAIRS. Brad recommended RICHY at BELLA AUTO INTERIORS & CONVERTIBLE TOP REPAIR and I drove right over to BELLA INTERIORS & CONVERTIBLE TOP REPAIR and talked to Richy. I made an appointment for a Tuesday with Bella and dropped the car off the following week Tuesday. Rich had the car and I called him several times probably annoying his most professional employees I've seen in the auto interior business! He told me he water tested the top throughout the adjustments he was making and it was a little better. When I picked up the car I went to the back of the Bella Shop to find Rich and I got to talk to the leather artist hand sewing a set of leather seat covers to fit an owner's design and fitting to the cushions being covered. Rich told me the car needs a front windshield A-Pillar weatherstrip and unfortunately the only one made is not worthy of the quality the weatherstripping companies offer for the problem of fitting. I have ordered the entire 8 piece weatherstripping kit from two suppliers including the Windshield A-Pillar weatherstrip over the 17 years I've driven the car with this leak and neither manufacturer helped stop the leaks, in fact they have all increased the leaks forcing me to remove and return their kits and re-installing the original 22 year old weatherstripping . Then there are the Bella mechanics that accomplished a 95% improvement in a week. RICH AND HIS ARTISTS AT BELLA ARE AN OLD SCHOOL PERFECTION LEATHER DESIGN FABRICATION INSTALLATION AND CONVERTIBLE TOP REPAIR SHOP. A LITTLE BETTER ? RICH YOUR MODEST. I DROVE THROUGH A HEAVY RAIN IN THE CHICAGO AREA AND EXPERIENCED A 95% IMPROVEMENT STOP OF WATER LEAKING INTO THE CAR WHILE PARKED AND DRIVING AT LOW AND SPEEDS UP TO 60 MPH. 17 years I've had a leak that required a hand towel on the floor of the drivers side and using a hand towel while driving. YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW Shocking WHILE DRIVING AND to look at the interior drivers side door and seeing a dry door panel. Thanks Rich and Bella's employees! Mule.
