Our first order was great, then down hill from there. Logos on first order started to deteriorate. Then we were not getting responses to emails. We tried going in because they kept telling us how busy they are, but they made us feel like a burden to there business. We really wanted to do business here because they are in a convenient location and we like dealing with local businesses. Very poor communication. I asked multiple when I placed my order if it could be done in a week. They assured me it would. Then the day of pick up I called to see what time I should come and was informed that they had "gotten behind" and also my order was going to require more setup. So my order was late and more expensive. I asked for a discount for the inconvenience and they just charged me my original price. read more

This store is incredible. This is my first official Yelp review, and I wanted to save it for a business that truly went above and beyond for me. I was working with a different t-shirt company to get shirts printed out earlier this year for the Sacramento AIDS walk. Two days before the event, the company called me back and told me they didn't have time to complete our order. TWO DAYS BEFORE. I called Creative Impressions on a whim since they were close by and explained my situation. The woman I worked with, Poonam, was the epitome of what customer service is supposed to be. She agreed to take on my super last minute project, and asked her employees if they would mind staying late to complete this project "for a good cause". The prices were highly competitive with everything else I had seen, the work was excellent and the customer service was incredible. Since the project was so last minute, they didn't have enough of the shirt color we wanted to complete the project. Poonam stood in their storage room on the phone and took the time to walk me through all the options available, helping me make the best decision for my team. Such a great place! I was looking to get some shirts to be screen printed for my sorority and Scott did a great job! I brought in the shirts that I wanted printed and sent him my designs and he was able to get it done super fast! We only talked for like 10 minutes when I brought my stuff in so it made me hesitant, but when I came to pick up my shirts, I was seriously surprised by how great they came out! Price-wise it was super cheap! A lot of other places have a minimum and I was so glad I found this place to do my 4 shirts (each with the same design but different wording)! I had kind of a weird experience with this place...the woman was so super nice when I called for a quote--very helpful, accommodating, she called to check in, we were in touch while I got my order together, etc. Then when I placed my order, she wasn't quite as friendly and when I asked if I could call her when I got back to my office with my company's credit card, and she told me she couldn't punch in a number because she has to pay more and she had "already given me a discount." Well if I already had a discount, I certainly didn't know. So she tells me I have to bring a check or bring in a card (rather than calling it in.) Shirts will be ready Wednesday. Wednesday comes and goes. I call Thursday. Finally get a call back Friday that the order is ready. So I go pick them up and hand her my company credit card. She panicked and says she thought I'd bring a check. I reiterated what she told me before. She swipes my card and brings a receipt and asks if I want to pay the $17 she gets charged for using a company credit card. Well, no. She tells me that for using the card, she gets charged a certain percentage so now she hasn't made any money off me. Yet she's already charged me and handed me a receipt. I don't know if she was just having a hard time being assertive and saying that charge has to be included, but I wasn't going to pay to use a card she said I could use and has it plastered on the front door as an acceptable form of payment. She ended up saying it must have been her fault and I left with my shirts, but I found the whole thing very bizarre. I too like to support local businesses, but I'd hope you know how to run said business in the first place. read more

One word: unorganized. I *really* wanted to do business with Creative Impressions; they are conveniently located next to Sac State. However, I had so many red flags with my experience there that I chose to do business with a tried and true company that's more expensive and a 30-mile drive from home. I wanted to get some fraternity shirts and jackets customized with some embroidery on the sleeves and appliqué numbers on the back...something that is very commonly done by at least 20 organizations on campus. When I called Creative Impressions for an estimate, the person working at the shop told me that he couldn't provide me with a quote because the person who does embroidery was out of the shop for a week. Red flag #1: "Why don't they maintain a price list for their services like their competitors do?" I dropped by the store, provided a description of the work I was looking for, and asked that the embroidery person email me an estimate. Red flag #2: what I received from the embroidery person was less than Spartan--the invoice provided no detail of the work to be done--no details of color, size, positioning---nothing. It simply listed prices for undescribed services...not a good thing if there was ever a question about what work was to be done. The invoice was also incomplete; the appliqué item was blank because they needed to call an outside source to find out how much to charge. That's red flag #3: if the company's expert had to call someone to find out how much a 10 inch number costs, they don't do this kind of job very often...if ever. They quickly gave me a quote, but as I would find out later, that price would not be honored. When I came in to drop off my order, I experienced red flag #4: the lady didn't refer to her notes from our earlier conversations or take down any details on an order form; she started jotting down information ON POST-IT NOTES AND STICKING THEM ON THE GARMENTS! To appreciate this fully, understand that I brought in 10 garments that each needed work done in 2 different locations...that's 20 post-it notes than can fall off or be misplaced when the were sent to the off-site shop to get the embroidering done. Maybe everything would have been OK. But if there was any mix up, how would I be able to settle a dispute...hand a person a stack of 20 sticky notes to interpret? It's not too much to ask that a job is accurately written out on an order form...businesses that want to get the job right the first time take the time to write up the job to the customer's specifications. After all this, I was STILL willing to give the job to Creative Impressions. I wrote out all the details on a sheet of paper so that everyone...me, the people working in the store, and the embroidery people off-site...would be on the same page. When I changed one thing--increasing the size of the letters in 2 of 4 positions--the embroidery lady increased the prices on EVERYTHING, including the work where there were absolutely no changes since the original quotation. That was red flag #5...and the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back. When a business can't honor their own price quotes, they can't be trusted. I don't think that she was being shady, but it was clear that she was so unfamiliar with this type of work that she was reevaluating on the fly how much she should charge. If you want to experiment with a new vendor for custom embroidery work that, if done incorrectly, will ruin your garment, go ahead and try Creative Impressions. But if you can't afford to be a guinea pig, call Design Yr Sweats (the La Riviera store may be closed, but they're still doing business from home), or go to Executive One in Woodland; you'll be confident that they've done this kind of work before. read more

I usually like to support local business and have nothing against mom & pop operations, but this place has "subpar" customer service, poor communication, over-priced, etc.. I could go on and on. After almost 2 weeks of "dilly-dallying" I went online and ordered from Cafepress.com. I designed my own t-shirts in 20min and it cost me less the HALF the price of what was quoted. read more

First time I ordered from them it was a great print job and great response time, when I tried to ask them something about my second print job they were poor at communication. I even had to email them twice at times when they weren't responding to my emails and when they promised me a quote at a certain time, they failed! Quick and excellent quality work! Our dance competition called Prelude Sacramento needed to order tshirts for our show next Friday. Mind you, one of our members has been emailing him since Monday (5/8) and we paid on Thursday (5/11). We were short on budget and had to lower our quantity. We also asked for mock tshirt designs before he started printing them. Scott provided excellent and quick responses to all of our emails. We had mentioned in our email that we would like to receive these tshirts by next friday (5/19) for our show next Saturday. Today (5/12) we received an email that all of our shirts are ready for pick up! Our whole Prelude Board was shocked at how fast the tshirts were done in such a quick amount of time.
