Went for a tour, several tripping hazards at the front not marked. Stairs to the front garden has a huge gap a kid fall in between steps and wall instead of having a second rail. Downstairs toddler room was tiny, floors looked old and filthy, chairs looked dirty. Please vacuum and clean the carpet at least. Maybe I am just used to nice facilities but this place made me fear a fall injury or worse. read more

The owner of this facility is a danger to children and harmful to families, to say the very least. My child has Down Syndrome and I work and attend school full-time for my Bachelor's in Education. I would never treat any other individual, child, or family the way this vile business owner treats parents and staff. The facility is open until 5 pm. One time I was running a few minutes late. I let them know 24 hours ahead of time I would be late picking him up, and that I would gladly compensate for the time, and the worker said no problem. The owner told me at the time I was late, if I was not there in 5 minutes, she would call law enforcement for an abandoned child. As a social worker, I knew nothing would come of that, as I was in constant communication with the provider. They would have laughed at her. Again, my child has Down Syndrome. It is hard getting him to eat, so he has had a feeding tube which he was administered a nutritional drink by his healthcare provider. He is not on the tube anymore but he continues he's to drink the drink. The owner actually told me that he's not getting the nutrition he needs from the nutritional drinks his doctor prescribes him. These are the same drinks that children on feeding tubes drink exclusively to get all their dietary needs met. I was sent a message by the owner of the daycare saying I needed to provide her medical documentation that he was receiving healthcare. I told her I'm going to disregard that, (because wtf), and she called CPS on me. She told them that my child's foot was infected, purple, oozing, and spreading (I took a photo of his foot which you will see below where you can see it was completely healed at the time she said that.) She also told them I was starving my child. My special needs child who she can see has an extremely hard time eating, is in a wheelchair, and can't walk or talk. The report was unsubstantiated, because they saw his healed foot. They also saw that he is getting all of the healthcare he needs and they know it's common for special needs children to be diagnosed with failure to thrive. So they closed the case. I also went on to the DCYF licensing website and noticed they have received several "serious" violations for hazardous conditions which are highly dangerous to children. They did not give Coly enough of his drinks at school and did not feed him regular meals with the other kids as they were instructed to in his Special Needs Plan submitted to DCYF and the facility. I have filed a police report about the owner's false reports to CPS (which is illegal) and I am also in touch with her licenser as well. I encourage any other parents with concerns to do the same. It's clear from her Yelp reviews that there have been ongoing concerns from multiple families and employees. The building is tattered and should be condemned, the employees walk on egg shells because she reprimands them so disrespectfully, even in front of parents. I kept my child here because consistency is important for special needs children, but I'm glad we found care elsewhere. We should have done so a long time ago, but I was thinking of the best interest of my child who thrives from routine and consistency. The fact that someone can attempt to assert such oppressive power and control in a state funded daycare facility in a building that is falling down around her is actually comical to me. Her misery shows through in how she treats others. This place needs to be shut down. But I rest easy knowing that the owner is clearly an absolutely unhappy human being regardless. Our son started attending Creative Kids when he turned 1 and he continued going there until it was time to start kindergarten. He loved his time there and the staff are simply incredible! By the time he left he was sad to go but he's well prepared for kindergarten. It was a wonderful place for him to learn, make friends, develop skills, and grow. read more

Former staff here, DO NOT BRING YOUR CHILDREN HERE! I have so many things I could say about this place but I will leave it to just a few reasons. There might be cameras but Annette definitely knows where the blind spots are. I've witnessed Annette put a child in a closet, down stairs across from bathrooms, and close the door telling him "Behave and you can come out". The stairs are not videoed and Annette has drug children up and down them when they don't do what she wants. Arm yanking is a daily occurrence especially if your child likes to be a child. Even worse is Julie who knows this behavior happens and continues to keep Annette as her lead teacher, turning a blind eye to this awful behavior. I can't count the many times the toddler room had breakouts of hand foot and mouth disease. There was black mold growing in a closet and was never properly treated. They scop from costco and when there was a listeria recall, the food was still served, as to not cost Julie more money.These two are a disgrace to childcare and this facility is seen as a money maker to Julie. How it is funded by Washington state is beyond me. It was too much for me and I walked out one day when Julie didn't show up to discuss an issue I had with child treatment. Julie even had the audacity to keep my last paycheck when I showed to pick it up. I would have reported them but threats by Julie and Annette are a thing they do to keep poor childcare under wraps. Navy family transferred from San Diego in March of 2019. We enrolled my then 3 year old son for daycare so that my wife may serve her country as United States Navy and I (Husband) worked during the day. The duration of my son's visit was VERY short due to staff. My son QUICKLY developed nightmares and MAJOR mood swings. He would scream for FEAR when dropping him off. During his second week, my son came home with a Red SWATTING mark behind(PAINFUL) on his bottom lower legs! My son is strong, but the clench he had on me everytime I dropped him off, tears my heart just thinking it. It TOOK my whole strength holding back the next day after my son came home with bruising, informing them my son will no longer be attending. These women are evil!!! The Good: Rhonda, kitchen well staffed The Bad: Rest of (older) staff inattentive to kids, disrespectful to parents, Inconvenient drop off times (door locks at 9:30, miss breakfast? Too bad), toddlers downstairs (not well air conditioned). Seems like maybe 20 years ago this was a wonderful daycare, but the older staff no longer want to be there and don't enjoy being around kids.. The Ugly: Brought my son here for 3 years and never felt welcomed there, from the very beginning staff was short tempered, they would raise voices at me for being a few minutes late, and scold my child for small things like having a dirty face (yeah sorry my 2 year old is a messy eater). Miss Annette would use the most condescending tone for things that need simple communication, usually making rude comments like, "I don't have time for this [child's name]", right in front of me, hard imagining what was done and said when no parents were around. When my son was just a year old, he was being bitten constantly, for months was bit multiple times a week, sometimes multiple times a day. Of course he learned this behavior and started biting when he got older. Each time, whether he was bit or did the biting, they could NEVER tell us exactly what happened prior, the incident reports only included what they did afterwards to try and curb the behavior but obviously it was not effective. Eventually the director meets with us and says our child needs counseling because their methods weren't effective. It seemed apparent to me that the kids weren't being watched well enough to prevent them from fighting. The Depressing: I came out as transgender about a year ago, and the staff here were the only people in my life that gave me animosity for it. The frequency of rude interactions grew to daily. My child started calling me mom/momma very quick at home, but the daycare staff would "correct" him and refer to me with old pronouns. It got to the point where my son was only calling me daddy at daycare, as if he were trying to please them. Eventually I grew tired of this and tried talking to staff about it, but they didn't really take me seriously and behavior didn't really change, they just wanted me to drop off and leave them alone. The Covid policies made it so staff interacted with us even less, where at least I didn't have to be subjected to that kind of humiliation. I regret not pulling my child out of this daycare a lot sooner, I should have taken the red flags and ran. I just thought if I abided by their rules, showed up when they wanted with a smile on my face, that eventually I would be treated with kindness. Sadly this isn't the case, and now I'm being threatened with an attorney for sharing my experience online... (not the first threat I received from them and obviously I'm not scared) it should be no surprise that teachers who don't practice kindness, will have a classroom full of misbehaving children. I only give this facility 1 star and that's because of Ms. Rhonda and a couple of other nice teachers who truly care about the health and well-being of the children. There are far too many negatives at this daycare. Sorry for the length, but I want other parents to be well informed because my experience was so horrible. This facility doesn't put the children first and for that reason alone, go somewhere else. First, the owner and most of the staff are extremely rude and unprofessional. The staff are always snapping at parents for forgetting a rule or not knowing the routine & if you let the owner know what's going on she defends them. There's no apology & I'll have a talk with them, there's just making excuses for their horrible behavior & absolutely no resolution to your issue. It's very disappointing because this could be a great daycare if the owner would just listen to the parents needs & make adjustments accordingly, but she only cares about her staff and money. The children & parents are just inconveniences for this facility. Second, after leaving the toddler room we had an issue about our daughter coming home with a dirty butt after pooping, just not being completely clean up. This led to a nasty rash & pain for my baby. When I brought this up I was never told what was done to correct the problem, but the issue stopped for a little bit. Then it happened again. Her father was very upset and complained, admittedly, not in a polite way & the owner acted like how dare we complain about our child not being taken care of well. She said they had a meeting about it and the issue was resolved. I kept saying it's not resolved when she came home with the same issue again. She then threatened to terminate child care, for them doing something wrong! Unfortunately there weren't other suitable options for childcare so I was forced to keep my child in this subpar facility. Then COVID hit and childcare became even more difficult to find. Third, there is no communication at all! There is new staff all the time with no introductions made or communication to the parents about even just their names! I had no idea who some of the people were who were taking care of my child all day. Finally, during COVID masks have been required during drop off and pick up. My daughters father picked her up on Monday and didn't wear a mask. When talked to about the mask he said he doesn't have one but could go get one. They told him no, & brought our child to him. The next day when trying to drop my daughter off I was rudely told by the teacher to go talk to Julie (the owner). She kicked my child out of daycare because her father forgot about masks when picking her up! She said she sent me a message that morning through the app. First, a message through an app is not an appropriate form of communication about official business with parents. Second, she sent me the message at 7:23 am, purposely waiting until the last minute to try to mess up my day. Third, the message consisted of "Anabelles last day of childcare was yesterday". This is the most unprofessional experience I have ever gone through! My daughter wasn't allowed to say goodbye to her friends or any of the teachers that she had known for the last 4 years of her life. I'm shocked and disappointed by the overall unprofessional behavior of the owner and management. read more

I contemplated if I should write this review or not, but I thought other parents may be interested. I am super grateful that this daycare kicked us out of care. My child went there for 3 months, and received 4-5 incident reports. After every single incident report, I questioned the staff members about what had occurred, and what was done. Every single time, my concerns were minimized, and dismissed, especially by Julie and Annette. If you are the least bit overbearing, and inquisitive about your children's welfare, than I would recommend not to go to this place. Not only will they criticize you for being overly cautious, but they will remove you for asking too many questions, for being concerned about your child, and will twist your words. We have never been disrespectful to any of the staff members, never missed a payment, always dropped off our kid on time and picked up on time. The very last sentence that the director wrote to me was recommending me to find a private nanny so that my child can avoid "normal childhood injuries". Not once did she meet with us to see what can be done, how we can come to a resolution, or wanting to hear our concerns. I am so grateful for the termination. We found a wonderful daycare that caters to our needs, and my child loves them. So thank you again, for pulling the plug, before we did. It was truly a blessing in disguise. read more

My daughter has been going here since she was 1 years old she is now 2 1/2 . I feel very safe leaving my daughter in their care. They have lots of fun activities to do all day. My daughter eats fruits and vegetables because she has been encouraged to eat them with the other children every meal . It's always clean and the staff has always been warm and friendly. They have cameras all over the building inside and out side. The doors have codes so not just anyone can walk in . They have a really neat app that they send pictures to you of things your little one is doing with them. She has lots of fun here . read more

My oldest attended Creative Kids for 1 year in Pre-K and my youngest attended for 3 years. We had great experiences here. The teachers are wonderful and truly cared about my boys. They both left more than prepared for Kindergarten! (As a Kindergarten teacher myself I can tell you how impressed I have been at what they learned and did to prepare for Kindergarten). I never questioned the care they were receiving, my boys were always happy to go, which makes it so much easier as a parent, and we had a hard time saying goodbye to them at the end of our time there! read more

My son has been going there since March of 2016. I cannot imagine what a perfect daycare would look like, however I can tell you in my eyes, this ones got to be close. The staff is great, my son loves going there or at least says he does. My son is almost 5 so his time is coming where he has to move on as kindergarten arrives. I would say that the only negative I can say is that they have an age cap and my son is about to hit it. I will also add that my son is on the autism spectrum. It was a perk for us to have him attend Creative Kids due to the knowledge and training of one particular staff member on autism. first day there was a dead rat pinned in the gate. at least 3x spit pebbles out of her mouth after I loaded her in the car. came home with a sunburn 3x (response was I can't believe you have a problem with our sunscreen policy) and would regularly have diaper rash (again cream they were to provide yet I brought in her own because they obviously weren't using it) she was always thirsty at pickup and was constantly sick which is understandable they have rats running around outside and don't watch children close enough to prevent them from eatting the sand/dirt those rodents are deficating in. When my babysitter picked her up on an 80 degree day she overheard a child ask for water and the teacher said there was nothing she could do about it. After notifying the owner and pulling her the owner was kind enough to send me a message half shaming me for needing extended care something I never requested from them but did request from the community because after hearing the neglectful statement made and the culmination of all the other things I sent out a SOS to the community which they are a part of. I should have notified CPS, because all of the issues I had were neglect. read more

DO NOT send your child here. The owner of the place is NEVER there, not all but most of the employees are snobby. My child came would cry everyday screaming for me not to leave, and my child usually loves everyone. The inside of the place is VERY cold during the winter. The place is also very unsanitary. I don't think I've ever seen them clean the place. My reply to C.K.L.C I was an EX CUSTOMER of yours. And While your employees may be state certified, it doesn't mean they are qualified for the job. I would rather my child be with someone that has compassion, love and understanding, than for my child to be with someone that hates their job and looks miserable everyday. Stay at home and be depressed alone. I have a friend who was looking for a child care facility in Port Orchard and told her TO NOT send her child here. And then when I go on yelp to see that this facility has 5 stars, probably made by an employee, it pisses me off. Obviously the parents of these children that you "care for" aren't jumping at the opportunity to give you any type of review because you only have ONE review which is probably a biased review made YEARS ago. I was really hoping to send my son to this daycare since it is literally a block away from my house. I had high hopes tbat this place would be great. I toured the place in June and it was ok-mediocre. The staff didn't seem all that pleasant, but hey, they take care of kids all day im sure its stressful. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. I only needed a spot for two days a week, she took my info in a spiral notebook and said they would call me back to let me know the fall availability and told me it looked like there would be 5 or 6 spots open then.... They never called me back, so in August ( 2 months later) I called them again. She said the owner was out of town and would call me when she got back and there was still openings for the days I needed. She never did call me. I called at the end of August and they said they have to wait until school starts on September 11 to see if there are preschool spots! Ok.... I call them today September 7 and the program coordinator says there are 0 spots open for preschool age, but that she would be happy to put me on a waiting list! Are you kidding me! I've been calling all summer! " well did you put down a deposit?" Is all she said. No lady, I didnt. If someone had told me that was a requirement at any time during my interaction with these people I would have done that! Not a great place, no warm fuzzy feelings, send your kids to a place with happier, more organized people that's all I can say for this rediculous place. read more

Our kids have been going for a couple of years now, and we love it. We love the teachers, and the cook, and all the stuff they do with the kids. They started using this thing that sends us pictures of our kiddos, and it's fabulous. They keep everyone busy, happy, and learning so much! My youngest comes home singing songs all the time (that I don't know) and when I asked the teacher about it, she made me a copy of the songs so I could sing them at home with him. They take such good care of our kids! We're so glad we found this daycare. read more

Please ignore all of the other bad ratings. This daycare has been absolutely incredible from the start. My daughter has been attending for about two years now. They are incredibly secure and they even have an app that they send you notes and pictures through throughout the day (only of/for your child, or notes that are for all parents with kids there). My daughter has loved it, the staff who work there love her, they have taught her so much. As a single mom who works full time, they have helped SO much. They even did 90% of the potty training for her! I struggle with things financially and the last two Christmases they have even given gifts for the parents that qualify, even gifts for my son who is in school and doesn't even go there!They learn and explore so many different things. They celebrate holidays and teach the kids all about them. They do everything. I wouldn't want her anywhere else. I am SO thankful for everything this daycare has to offer. read more

I cannot comment on the actual care this business provides, because my child is not, and will not be, enrolled here. I called inquiring about possibly enrolling and I felt I had to pull teeth to get information, and the person seemed annoyed to have to answer. But, I did set an appointment, because perhaps the person on the phone is better in person! As I was walking up to the building, two women literally pulled the blinds up from 2 different windows to watch me. It was uncomfortable. And of course, they were seated when I came in, as though they hadn't just done that. The woman at the desk stared at me blankly and did she didn't welcome me in. When I stated who I was, 'Yea, I know' was the response. She took me down to the children's area, which although was small, it did look nice enough and to give credit to the 2 women tending to the children, the kids did look content. I asked her questions and the answers were fine, but her attitude was terrible. She was a bit snotty when answering and when I responded to her answers, she became even ruder. The entire "tour", which was of only one room (where we stood in the same place) and in all lasted less than 10minutes, felt as though I was an inconvenience to her. She did not offer any information (other than another daycare I could go to), and the answers to my questions were minimal. I refuse to give my hard-earned money to someone that can't show me any kind of respect or kindness. First impressions are a huge deal to me. If you can't treat an adult with respect, how in the world can I trust that she will treat my child any differently? As far as I know, which isn't much thanks to her lack of responsiveness, I think she is more of an office employee, but I don't want my child to feel unwanted or like he is an inconvenience, even as he passes through her work-area. read more

I have had my two kids going here for almost five years and they love going to daycare every morning. This is a wonderful business and I highly recommend it to anyone wanting child care! Creative kids staff seem to be nice but have neglected my disabled son. I think this is because they are not trained as well as they say they are, he has been outside with out a hat and coat on days when it was cold, my son is nonverbal on the Autism spectrum and cant say that he is cold but when I became upset about this they told me I'm being abusive. read more
