Once in the examine, the Vet assistant asked what the reason for the visit was. I explained that we were recommended by a friend to try Animal Talk and Dr. Lucas. I mentioned that we needed the yearly shots for our dog. She asked if we had her previous medical records, and I said I have them at home and can go get them. She said she could call our previous Vet and have them faxed over. This saved me a trip back home to get the records. She went over the recommended and required shots needed and said Dr. Lucas would administer those shots. It was about 15 minutes before Dr. Lucas came in the exam room and immediately apologized for the wait. He went on to explain that sometimes different procedures took longer than expected. I told him it wasn't a problem and showed me that he took his time and didn't rush through each animal. He explained the different procedures he was about to perform and proceed to give the necessary shots. He explained different aspects of my dog and what to look out for and what to expect. I was there about an hour, from start to finish. Overall, very pleased with my first visit. I like the idea of the time he spent with my dog. I compare the time it took to going to McDonalds or going to a steak house. You will both be fed at both, but I would feel more satisfied with the steak house when I got done. Finally, the bill for all the shots and office visit was half of what I have previously paid for the same services.

WTH!!! vet techs do our dogs nails back at our old vet which was Watson vet clinic back in St. Louis. Watson vet is the best but it's now an hour drive for us. If a vet clinic can't even oblige a new client with nail trimmings then they don't deserve our business. so sad!!! I hope all country folks aren't like these people at this clinic.

She was very gentle and didn't push, backed off when they showed signs of stress. Before we left both were wagging their tails and enjoying the lick mat! We left w/ meds for both the infections and some sedatives to help us w/ the much dreaded nail trims. So far, best, nicest Vet I've found in 7 yrs. Reasonable prices as well. The dachshund's last ear infection, we were charged nearly $700 by another vet who had a mean bedside manner and it was a traumatic not to mention expensive ordeal. Both dogs got exams, antibiotic for the paw wound, ear flush, ear drops, anti-inflammitories, as well as two sedatives, all for abt $300. I think we've found our permanent vet. And She's young, so I don't think she'll be retiring any time too soon. I feel really lucky to have found this gem of a doc for our fur babies. Oh, and she did the dachshunds anal glads for us w/ out so much as a flinch or grimace. She's got mad skills and is so nice! He refused to do anything, arrogantly telling me, "I've been doing this for twenty years, I think I know what I'm doing." An independent veterinary review later confirmed he gave the wrong medication. VEG operates as a reckless corporate assembly line that shields this exact brand of medical incompetence, and Dr. Chance used his position to inflict unnecessary torture on a dying animal while ignoring a desperate owner's pleas. Formal clinical negligence complaints have been filed with both the Missouri and Kansas State Veterinary Boards. Do not trust VEG or Dr. Chance with your animal's life.

My Cat Pookie was 14 when she passed, this hospital did surgery on her twice. My Pitbull/Lab Mix was cared for by this facility, she passed at age 14, My MaineCoon Cat Jasper had his first kitten visit, neutering and declaw here and he passed away also at 12 years old. All once had excellent care. I now have three pets that have been at this facility but the customer service is not the same. I spent over $650 for medical visits, shots and tests for my Recent kitten to prepare him for surgery. He had a slight heart murmur requiring CardioLet proBNP -Feline (2666) to make sure he was safe for surgery, I got all his shots and took him in prior to surgery for the bloodtests. I paid $184.49 and went in for our scheduled appointment and the staff member advised me that I would have to pay for Koneko's 2nd Feline Leukemia Booster to havr his surgery that day. Although they stated that he was ready for surgery that day. Then I noticed the estimate was not what was previously quoted to me at $357 low cost or high cost was $482 but she printed out what I owed and the charges were $569.50 low and $680.50 high cost. Which was considerably higher and I had already paid for the bloodwork. When I disputed the charges the office staff member got up and walked away from me, then when she came back I asked her to print out my medical records for Koneko and she only printed out a portion of them and told me that they would not do the surgery on Koneko because I was not happy with their service. She was rude and disrespectful and I asked to speak to a manager.and she did not assist me in that aspect either. This being extremely disrespectful considering the history of all my prior pets treatment and I had given an excellent review back in 2010 because the staff then was exceptional and they did not seem to be grabbing for money on each visit. Every appoinment was over $200 this year and that also included an appointment for my Cat Jasmine for $264 during Koneko's treatment. But to have me prepay for bloodwork for my cats neutering and then refuse to do the surgery because I disputed under the terms of my previous estimate is beyond unethical and unprofessional with respect to actually caring for the wellbeing of a pet and a longterm customer for all those years. This was so disturbing to think that they did this to me that I can never trust them again. I have a printout of my first estimate and these figures are far more expensive than what was written on my initial estimate and they were well aware of Koneko's very mild heart murmer at which I believe was the lowest of levels. He was in otherwise great heath and at the previous visit advised me that he was ready to be neutered. This was so wrong to do to me and my Pet because now I will probably have to pay for that bloodwork before surgery again. Disturbing to say the least!!!
