Flash forward to now. Nobody ever wants to make that phone call. I mean, who honestly enjoys calling your creditors? Reaching out for help only to be put on hold for hours/have your calls disconnected/transferred to the wrong department--all for the privilege of conversing with the surly CSR in cardmember services who talks to you like you're a serial puppy killer for making a late payment. After about half an hour of getting nowhere with my credit card company, I was transferred to Clearpoint, and braced myself for more of the same. But it was nothing like what I'd anticipated. I got transferred around and spoke with a few different people, sure, but every single person I interacted with was just SO nice. Ridiculously nice. The kind of nice you can't even fake. The counselor working with me was really encouraging, professional, and treated me like a human. I'm not an evil villain, I'm not incompetent, I'm just a girl who came across some less than ideal circumstances. Being in debt is shitty. We know that. But still, what a breath of fresh air to be treated with dignity. Most importantly, I got squared away with a realistic plan to squash that debt, all my questions were answered, and the pros and cons of the debt management program were explained thoroughly. I actually felt happy when I got off the phone. Happy? Seriously? We talked about my stupid debt for an hour and I feel happy? The fees they charge are so minimal compared to the amount of service they provide, and I feel good supporting a local nonprofit. And I'll live happily ever after, having this ordeal finally taken care of. The end.

If you know nothing else about them, know that they are the ONLY HUD-approved credit-counseling agency in the state of Washington. To go elsewhere is to make oneself vulnerable to scams that will make you lose more than you've already lost, all to fill their heartless, greedy pockets. Out of work for not quite a year yet when I contacted them, I'd already spent through all my "retirement" savings (ha!) hoping to save my condo. Through a combination of credit-card purchases and cash advances, I was rapidly approaching the last of my credit limits when I called them. They bundled my credit-card debt into one (very) low-interest loan that they brokered my payments on, in exchange for a modest monthly handling fee (especially when compared to how much I'd have paid in interest with the Wall Street banks), all handled through monthly withdrawals from my checking account, which I was able to keep funded (modestly, but adequately) through some creative moves. With their help, I was able to sell the house, with enough equity (I realize not everyone's this lucky) to pay off my credit-card debt, a week or two before the foreclosure hounds would have come snarling at my door. Their attitude and service demonstrate compassion and a sincere willingness to help, and they are both responsive to requests for help and advice and proactively in touch when needed. They earned every penny of their fees, unlike the loan-shark interest I paid Big Banking before signing up for their Debt Management Program. I don't envy anyone the circumstances that brought me together with ClearPoint, but thank God that they were there and oh-so-helpful in my hour of need. If you're on the brink of possible financial disaster and hoping for a miracle, here's my advice: Wake up and get these guys on your side before it's too late to save anything. I haven't checked my credit score yet, but I feel sure that it's at the very least at or above average thanks to the ways ClearPoint knows how to hook its clients up. Call them while you still maintain some control over your future. They'll help make it better.

Amber had written a reply previously but it never got sent, which we did apologize for. We just reached out to you again on Feb 2 to see if we could connect to help resolve any outstanding concerns that you have. During Covid, the federal government issued the CARES Act which allows the bureaus additional time to respond to inquiries. Please reach out to us directly so that we can answer any questions you have pertaining to your results My Response: Serge, As previously stated, I never received a response to my question from 12/28/2020. That was until I posted this review on 1/19/21. I then received a response from her the very next day. Presumably, because of negative the review. This doesn't excuse the sixteen business day gap from the time I sent a question and received a response. I doubt I ever would have received a response if I had not posted a review. I am aware that the bureaus have additional time to process (30-45 days), but this doesn't negate that we didn't receive anything from the bureaus in close to four months. If I had not questioned it, we would have continued to spend some $150 dollars a month with LSI with no results. Original Post: I had a similar experience with LSI. I was working with Amber. They reach out once a month and go over the credit challenges I continued with the service during COVID but stopped receiving notifications from the credit bureaus. This went on for almost six months. We decided to stop our services in Dec since we weren't seeing any improvement. I told Amber to go ahead with the pull since they had just charged my card, but we would cancel next month. I was told that they couldn't because the bill for Dec that was just paid was for the previous month. When I emailed for an explanation (attached), they never responded. Additionally, I questioned how the credit challenges were submitted as it's a violation of FCRA for the bureaus not to provide a response. Amber was always pleasant via email, but when you spend $1200 for credit repair, you expect at least a response to an email.

It wasn't until I made the leap to small business owner where my deeper underlying money beliefs reared their ugly heads. Things got super real...in not a good way. My chronic tendency to depreciate the value of my heart-centered hard work meant that I was constantly underpricing and in a state of "not enough". I've been working with Heather for a few months and have been amazed at the shifts. Starting at the first meeting we were able to access and clear some of the mistaken beliefs that I have about money (tied to old but subconsciously powerful traumas). I've raised my rates and started being able to self-regulate when fear and anxiety raises it's ugly head. I've taken a number of classes on the mechanics of handling money..but working with Heather is the first time that we've gotten to the underlying reasons of why. Highly recommend!

Mindy was great, walked me through a plan and i was headed off to the races. I'm not sure I really understood it, but I rolled with it as best as I could. Fast forward a handful of years later and I wanted to revisit my plan. A lot changed from job to income and I needed something new after selling some real estate. The 2nd experience wasn't quite the same for a number of perspectives. What hit me the hardest was hearing what was said about my situation behind the scenes after my first consultation with Mindy. The planner (Sam) actally said outloud they didn't believe I could make something happen with the previous plan. Guess what, I did do something. Now I'm in need of another plan after an unexpected windfall, but don't trust the experience won't be the same. The other part I don't get is why it was suggested to open a brokerage account (which I did based on the plan) when playing the stock market is not something I do or comfortable with. Anything having to do with stocks and the market scares me and I'm very uncomfortable on any financial site outside of a bank. Nothing makes sense and vocabulary is vague. I expressed my discomfort in this area and needed a lot of hand holding to execute moving funds and opening a brokerage account. I still don't understand this one, but I did it based on a recommendation. Now I am sittiing with a brokerage account and it's doing nothing because the thought of it just paralyzes me. While the set it and forget it method is great concept in theory, it's only as good as the plan and the clients ability realistically execute. Although the 2nd plan was a great idea to retire at 62, it had zero reality of lifes unexpected changes. Good Luck!
