Delicious ice cream and amazing service!! A very cute ice cream shop with nice decorations on the inside. The owner was very nice and patient. We tried samples and got the cafe, parcha (passionfruit), and tamarindo- all three were great and the parcha tasted very fresh. This spot is popular with locals! Definitely stop by here. read more

Mantecado frito (fried ice cream) is the item to order! So delicious! Comes with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, a syrup of your choice & a topping of your choice. The owner is very friendly and encouraged us to relax and enjoy our ice cream before paying. Inside the tables have benches that swing, which the kids enjoyed. Update::: the address on Yelp is wrong. We clicked Direction from the app and couldn't find the place before we leave. So just use your map and type in the name of this place. So sad I couldn't enjoy it the second time around. So we rented a place about ten mins from here and wanted some dessert and this place came up. GRACIAS !!!!! The fried ice cream was amazing ! Delicious. among the three of us we had the rum raisin, passion fruit (parcha) sorbet and coconut in cups and the Superman (vanilla with coloring) in a waffle cone. The parcha was the hands down favorite- the right mix of sweet and sour. Nothing was too sweet so I didn't feel like my kid would be bouncing off the walls afterwards and it was the real deal. The raisins in the rum raisin were still plump and it didn't have the artificial boozy taste the big brands have. Delicious. The coconut was creamy with a good texture of coconut still. I mean - so good. I wished my son went for the fried ice cream bc of the reviews but the waffle cone must have been good bc it disappeared before I could take a nibble and vanilla doesn't disappoint plus he chowed on my parcha. The seating is fun (swings) and the neighborhood seems a little rough but they buzz you in so we felt safe and secure. Parked right outside. Total gem. The owner was present and served us - they o tasters and explained flavors (like chino she said was an orange flavor but they were out of the rainbow). You can tell she takes pride in her business. Don't miss this place if you are on your way back from a bioluminescent bay tour- i think it was on the way (or wasn't much of a detour) on our drive back to San Juan. 3 miles / 12 minutes Highly highly recommend! read more

We stopped here for some ice cream while we were staying in Fajardo. They are know for their fried ice cream but we were not interested in trying that. Hubby had a strawberry milkshake which he reported to be delicious and I had a cone with both chocolate and mango ice cream. When in Puerto Rico one must try the local flavors like parcha and guanabana that are hard to find on the main land. The owner was working and she was very attentive. I've been going to Cremaldi since I was a baby. Every time I visit Puerto Rico it's a must visit. (I'm not a fan of ice cream, but I'm a fan OF THIS ICE CREAM). They have the best friend ice cream, what makes it different is that here in the United States friend ice cream is made with cake batter. At Cremaldi, the fried ice cream is made with cereal, the cereal makes it a bit crunchy on the outside. I always get fried ice cream, with whip cream, Oreos and caramel syrup. I saw some reviews pertaining to the location looking dangerous, it's not. I've been both in the morning and at night. The service is great, and the servers are very attentive. It's actually a family run business. There are no cons that I can think of. read more

At the suggestion of one of the locals I met on my trip to Puerto Rico, I ventured out to find Cremaldi. This place is UNIQUE and CHEAP. The ice cream itself is nothing spectacular, but it's the atmosphere that makes this place really cool. You buy your ice cream and you get to sit on SWINGING benches!!! It is 5 minutes from the Fajardo Ferry Terminal on PR-195, so I highly suggest you stop by before or after visiting Vieques or Culebra to get some ice cream. Thank you so much to Tiffany's review! My husband and I drove to this little gem for some ice cream. Waffle cones - OH. MY. It's not the traditional crispy kind. The batter they use create a soft and chewy texture. I had a lot of waffle cones in my life but I think this is probably the best one I ever had. It looks like a family owned business and it has the "everyone knows everyone" feel in there. Oh not to forget, you get to sit on SWINGS instead of regular boring chairs. There was a big birthday party when we stopped by. It's a very family friendly environment and kids have a GREAT time there. It was so busy there that the owner told us to sit down, finish our ice cream first and pay later. What a lovely lady. We arrived a little after their closing time (10pm), yet they still allowed us to enjoy their wonderful ice cream. It had a pleasant atmosphere and a very unique concept of swinging chairs rather than most other restaurants. Magaly, the owner, and Ricardo, the other gentleman who worked there, were very kind and assisted us in picking some great flavors. I had pistachio, my wife had butter almond, and my daughter had chocolate with a freshly made waffle cone (a MUST HAVE). Getting there is a bit difficult, so watch carefully while you're driving to this amazing eatery. My friend's family got lost on the way, but I luckily got to deliver their order to them before it melted! read more

My gripes with this place aren't really with the ice cream itself (though I am salty about the fact that 'pocky topping' is just two sticks of pocky jammed into the cup), it's mostly about the experience. Rolled ice cream is cool and all, but what we pay for isn't really the ice cream: it's the experience. Watching them pour the liquid ice cream onto the cold surface, chop it, spread it, and roll it is what we're paying for. And Below Zero has blocked off the area where you'd usually watch them work.
