It was the first time I tried Haitian food and everything was absolutely delicious. I enjoyed all the variety of flavors including the slaw that was spicy it gave the food a nice kick with so much flavor. The oxtail was so delicious the beef patties, the black rice, etc. I enjoyed everything so much I can not wait to have it again. I totally recommend this place. This is your average hole in the wall to pick up your Haitian favs. Don't expect anything more than what's in front of you and if not a lonnnnnggggg wait. Lol. I ordered the legume (stew vegetables) with white rice. Normally at other locations they give you bunun perze (fried green plantains) and the legume has beef in it, but there was no meat and there was no bunun. I guess if you're a vegetarian that's for you. So i ordered 2 meatballs too. Just got home to finally eat and i won't lie. It's average. The rice was amissing salt but i get it if you're trying to be healthy ‍ the legume was okay. The meatballs were missing salt. That might be the main ingredient they held back on. But the pikliz was fire! Glad i asked for it bc it put alll the seasoning that was missing. I mean i guess what do you expect for a medium lunch plate? $7 can't really complain. read more

Finally a Haitian food spot near the VS/Rosedale area. Ordered the griot and the beef pate. My Jamaican friends will kill me for this but Haitian patties are better. And this place has some amazing beef patties. The griot was delicious and the djoun djoun rice was amazing. I gave this place a second chance, and my review remains the same--one star. If I could give 0 stars I would. The legume and the cornmeal was terrible tasting. The legume had a pungent and sour taste. The cornmeal was unpleasantly tasting and rancid. I had two family members do a taste test and their opinion was in alignment with mine. Went in a few minutes after 3, and they kindly let me order a lunch special : stewed chicken (delicious), with rice and beans (a bit dry, but nice gravy), plantains (tostones, really) and a side salad. Young man who greeted me only speaks French and Creole, so he called the owner to help. Both were very nice. I used a few words from my junior high school French (which was a long time ago). I'm not Haitian, though I know the food a bit, and I'm not in that neighborhood often. Worth going back to, definitely. Good bargain, good food, good people. read more

Everything I had here was great. I'm from Atlanta and I've tried a lot of haitian restaurants while I'm in Ny and nothing comes close to this place. They have a very rare ration of great food and service here. I will definitely come back. Oh and the rations are more then generous here. read more

Feening for Haitian food while in Queens. After searching Yelp, we decided on Creole Plate. Upon walking in I notice the interior is quite small with only 4 bar stools to sit & dine in. We chose to dine in. The two older male employees were sweet. We ordered rice & peas, legume, & griot which came with complimentary fried plantain & sweet potato. To be honest, the food was a little bland, but I still enjoyed it. My dad's family has some BOMB chefs so my view is bias. However $19 for a crazy amount of food that stuffed two people with leftovers.....You cant beat that!!! I would return! Happy Yelping! read more

I really like this place you can never go wrong with some good ol haitian dish especially when you just come back from during errands or work whatever that may be. My only issue is parking in that area sucks I live not too far from it but who wants to go home drop off the car and then come back walking to get you food on an empty stomach? This place is a real neighborhood gem. I was in the area visiting a friend and seen this restaurant a couple of blocks from their house. Stopped in for a quick bite to eat, glad I did. The griot was very tasty with good flavor, and being as big of a fan of banan as I am, I must say they were well cooked and not too hard and dry as some places have them. I decided to have Haitian food tonight for dinner. I didn't want to drive too far so I decided to stay in the neighborhood. I found this place on Yelp and it's not too far away from where I live. I called ahead to make sure they had what I wanted and placed my order. I get there and it doesn't seem like the order was even put in. I was told to wait 5 minutes I end up spending 20 to 25 minutes in there waiting. After all this time goes by I ask if the food isn't ready yet and she says no casually. So I walked out. So basically I just wasted my time standing in there waiting for something that should be really easy to prepare. When you go in the restaurant towards the back where the kitchen is, therea a window that you can see the cook's preparing the meals. Walking out on potentially good Haitian food would have been harder if I didn't observe one of the cooks eating food out of his hand which is totally unsanitary. I guess I won't be going back there. worse place ever.... I told the guy that was serving the food that I do not eat meat and what they had without meat; said the had legume. I skeptical and questioned him more than once, you sure it has no meat; he says I am sure. i said wasn't cooked with meat. he says no, i found it hard to believe but i went ahead and ordered because I know in Miami at this one Haitian restaurant you could order vegetarian legume made to order no meat....Anyways, I got home ate some of the legume, got so sick, I had left over the next day, I was going to eat and Bam it was meat all at the bottom.
