So we actually chose the wrong location but ended up just staying here to eat. They make you wear plastic gloves to grab the food at the buffet. First problem I had, considering it was my first time visiting was there was no labels or names for the food on the buffet except for the oxtails so it's like they expected you to know the Jamaica cuisine. It wasn't much on there I wanted and they didn't even have plantains. Plus the pricing was different for different things on the buffet also super confusing . Was in the mood for some Jamaican food so decided to go to the local buffet spot. I frequented this restaurant often prior to the COVID outbreak but have up until this day avoided buffet/self service places. As you walk in there is a hand sanitizing station and plastic gloves are provided and required to be used when getting food from the buffet. Word to the wise. Be careful when preparing your plate. I had two containers...The first had rice and peas, macaroni and cheese, cabbage, curry chicken and curried goat. 2nd small container has just rice and peas with curry chicken. This totaled $27+. When I questioned the cashier about the price she informed me that since I had curried goat on my plate I was charged more. I get it, I get it! ...Those are the rules...which are in fact posted far away from the serving buffet way out of sight. The upcharge was roughly an additional $2 per pound. Not worth it for the amount of goat that I got..but..I get it. These are the rules.. Now about the food. Neither the curry chicken or goat had curry flavor. The rice was hard and also lacked flavor. I wasn't at all pleased with the experience or the food this trip. Will think twice before returning I must note that I had to pretty much scream to be heard because the music was blasting making it hard for us to hear each other. Their breakfast is included in my every Saturday routine before going to the hairdresser. I've had their lunch/dinner a few times, and it's always been fresh. I like this restaurant. It's buffet style/ weigh your food type of spot. It is always crowded in here when I come. I don't mind the crowd. It just lets you know that the food is good and worth buying. The thing that I don't like is that they are sometimes too slow. I would like to be in and out of this place but that is a never. You go inside, grab a tray., and start to fill up the tray with your desired food. I love their food though. It is very tasty. I usually pack enough for about two days worth of food and it comes out to about $15 a plate. That is not bad. This is a Jamaican buffet that features a plethora of seafood and hot plates to dine-in or To-Go. Very comparable to the Chinese buffets or a Jamaican version of NYC's Smilers. A colleague introduced this place to me in 2014 when treating me to lunch. Since he's Caribbean, I trusted his judgment. I was shocked to see the large selection of authentic buffet dishes like a ackee and salt fish, fried dumplin, yam, curry chicken/goat etc. I loved that they had the fresh fruit and SEAFOOd as an option. The buffet prices are as expected. You may spend anywhere from $10-$12 on a well portioned container. Be mindful of the weight of your items. Goat, Crab legs, Yam and dumpling can weigh you in very steep. This place is very organized. Southeast Queens, Laurelton in particular, is home to many Jamaicans and Caribbean people, in general so having this buffet here is a gold mine for business owners. I have no complaints about This place whatsoever. My mom is in town and being that we are West Indian(Guyanese), she wanted Caribbean food. I was scrolling through my Yelp timeline and saw some of my fellow helpers comment and review this place so I decided to give it a try. A plus was that it's near to where I live. I mean I always drive past it but never went in. They close at 10pm and we came here around 9:30pm. There was no line but people were still there getting food. Thy had selections ranging from salmon, macaroni,salt fish,rice and peas,oxtail, jerk chicken etc. Being that we came late I felt there were more selections because a guy was cleaning out the other side of the buffet area. They weigh by the pound but our food still came out to 18 and change with two plates. I was pleased. My moms plate came out to 12 because she had a lot of stuff on there. They have a dining area but we decided to go home and eat. The food was soooooo delicious. I mean it's rare to find a Caribbean food buffet. Customer service was good too. No complaints. The vegan one I went there the food was there you didn't even know what it was they had to tell you no labels the food was dried out. And what was not dried out was over cook rice cooked to kind soft as baby food, the Mac and cheese noodles were too soft macaroni should be aldante in between not soft, the fis made my aunt throw up. The food should be turnt, the girl at the register was not vegan no vegetarian did now know about the food. The vegan drum sticks was literally swimming in gravy and take like mush it's not meat why would it be sitting in gravy tofu yes not the drumsticks. Oh my my my, dropped in before my flight back to Portland Oregon. 6 hours later I opened my box to the lovely fragrance of Oxtails, rice and peas, Mac pie and my two beef patties. So I've been coming here for a years and its been great. Yesterday September 6th, 2017 @12pm I had the worst experience. Pros: Accepts Credit/Debit Cons: All the meats were old and cold. Reheated refridgerated food masked with sauce/gravy. Mac n Cheese was dry and obviously frozen. Jerk Chicken, Jerk Pork, BBQ chicken, Oxtail, Stew Chicken were all old and covered with heavy dark sauce to mask the leftovers they were serving as newly cooked fresh food. Oxtail gravy was clumpy until I realized I scooped up foil paper in it. Proof it was old and previously wrapped. It could have killed me. I showed two employees including a female in charge. I scooped up some ackee and salt fish, okra, yellow yam, banana and a few dumplings. I had to taste the rice and peas. I was amped. Everything is weighed by the pound. I checked out the other items on the buffet. They have all the Jamaican staples from curry, brown stew chicken, oxtail, festival, plantains, and goat. They also have desserts and every type of Caribbean drink from fresh Sorrel, peanut punch and Ting. My food was very flavorful but not too salty. The dumplings were firm but soft enough to cut with my plastic cutlery. This place is amazing with fresh food, clean and inexpensive. It was so good that I went back the next day. This time around it was 4pm and the spread for more expansive with whole fried Snapper and Pepper shrimp. read more

Street parking is available, but a little crowded. It took a minute or two to find a spot halfway down the block. Inside, the place was bustling. Food is served buffet style. Pay by the pound. Some seating is available. Nothing fancy about it, but everything is well kept and clean. The staff is friendly. All chicken dishes (curried, BBQ, sweet wings, jerk, stewed) were moist, tender and seasoned well. Oxtails melted in my mouth. Codfish salad was wonderfully balanced with a salty/vinegary taste. Curry tripe was delicate and tender with good flavor. Stewed peas are so tasty, they make you crave more. Beef and chicken patties, coco bread and desserts are behind the counter. Coco bread was fluffy and delicious. I was too full to eat the beef and chicken patties I bought, but they sure look good and freshly made. Finally writing a review after I've been to this restaurant a few times now. I enjoy that it's a buffet and I can mix and match what I want on my plate however they do charge by the pound so I'm definitely mindful of that lol. I've tasted the ackee & salt fish, jerk chicken, curry chicken, oxtail, BBQ wings, rice, macaroni & cheese, macaroni salad, potato salad & the beef patty (but not all of these in one sitting of course lol). I enjoyed everything expect for the rice & the curry chicken. The rice was just not cooked well in my opinion. I'm only able to eat it if I cover it in gravy. The curry chicken didn't have enjoy flavor in it. I've had better. My favorite is the oxtail but they're always running out of it! Which is annoying. I also really like their beef patty, it was light and flaky and the filling was just delicious. Their jerk chicken is also good, it's juicy and flavorful. Im not a fan of buffets, as,poor manners, and sloppy food handling seem to be synonymous at these venues. I was very pleasantly surprised with how clean,orderly,and most importantly delicous the food was. They have a wide variety of fare fresh veggies galore,chicken fried,sauted,stewed,goat,fish,oxtails,dumplings aiki and on and on. The prices are very fair and this is coupled with good quality,friendly service,and very clean restaurant. The food is continually replenished,fresh,and so tasty. The staff is really nice, and informative. Our personal faves were the oztails,macn cheese,the chicken was heavenly,and the multitude of veggies was to die for.
