Fantastic shop. There are obviously tons of stores in this particular market in New Orleans, but this is one that's definitely worth visiting. We bought a bunch of items in the shop that fit what we were looking for and also got a reading while we were there. This place is really serene and otherworldly. They claimed to be the only black owned witchy shop in the French Quarter. We did get our tarot cards read and had a really nice experience. I have also bought some of their products online, including their oils and soaps. They are all made right there in the store. Sometimes you can walk in and watch them work on their latest batch. They also offer classes, but I have yet to take one. I really like the vibe here. It feels really authentic. You can tell that they are dedicated to their craft and aren't trying to just sell you stuff. I highly recommend stopping by. read more

Crescent City Conjure was on my list of places to visit as I found recommendations on Reddit & from others as an authentic, Black owned spiritual shop. The pictures don't do justice of the offering here. Though yes- there are various supplies: coffin nails, oils, bath blends, kits, candles, etc. The true beauty of this shop lies with the truly knowledgable & passionate employees. Jarvis inspired me to invest in a tarot reading- I'm by no means a tarot girlie but gave it a shot. Before the reading Jarvis was so generous with his time listening to me share detailed context of what brought me in. The cashier, unsure of his name was also very helpful respectfully giving his insights along with confirming proper usage of the supplies I purchased. Bless I recommend Crescent City to any practitioner of ATR/ ADR, adjacent practices, or anyone curious to learn about the cultural practices. As a Northerner it's nearly impossible to make these real life connections locally so this stop left a very special place in my heart & spiritual journey alongside all the other lovely NOLA folks I've met on my adventures. read more

Crescent City Conjure was by far my favourite of the ones I visited, & not only because they have a "bodega chicken" named Ginger (see: Pic 2). This place is all about the Craft and I felt immediately welcomed by the entire vibe of the place. I couldn't stay away on my two recent visits to NOLA. They had exactly what I needed and there was no question where I wanted to get my first reading when I returned with a friend on a different visit. Thomjaná did my friend's reading and the insights were really powerful. So powerful that I decided to get my own reading. I'm a reader and practitioner myself so I was tentative about getting tarot but Tomjaná's method was unique and incredibly insightful. She was genuine, caring, and thoughtful in her intuition. Our visit really set the tone for the rest of our week in NOLA. I've set some things in motion with the help of the oils I purchased. I wish I could remember the gentleman's name with the long hair, but he did an incredibly thoughtful ritual for the candle my friend purchased and it was clear how devoted he was to the craft. It was a very powerful experience and I'm grateful. I'll be hard-pressed to find a place I vibe with like I vibe with this place. It's a practitioner's shop, not a tourist shop, so it's not for everybody, but I was extremely pleased with my experiences here. read more

This is a practitioners shop! Not everyone will get this place, but for those who do it is a gem. I was happy to find it while vacationing with my husband this past July. I know I know, I could've sworn I wrote this, but found it still in my phone. The fact that I still wanted to finish the review says how impressed I was. As soon as I entered I knew this place was different. You can feel the peace and protection in the space. The woman working was so sweet and told me stories when I admired their huge statue of Archangel Michael. The owner was also present and was very welcoming. He was speaking to another couple who had a ton of questions. I overheard him being extremely patient and could not dispute one answer he gave them. My husband went to touch an evil eye bracelet and it shattered. IYKYK... So we alerted the shop owner who understood what took place, did not get upset, and just asked we dispose of it outside. I got several products and have actually ordered online from them since I've been back in Ohio. I go everywhere and even harvest many of my own products so I am familiar with quality. They have it. I will be back whenever I am in town and in the meantime I plan to keep having items shipped. read more

What a grand experience!! So we (my husband and I) went Saturday night and met Jason. He was EXTREMELY knowledgeable but approachable and friendly. We had a great conversation and learned a lot. The readers were gone for the day but he advised us to come back and suggested JP. We squeezed in the time before our flight to go back and I'm really glad we did. Elias was in and very busy with a store full of people, but he heard everyone and bounced around answering questions. JP was again recommended and once we met him it wad clear, whatever vibe was felt it was the correct choice. A genuine reading from JP and even more information and a great conversation from Elias was a great way to end our time. Definitely will be revisiting once we go back. read more

Shop was small and didn't have very much going on. Extremely small crystal selection (like 6 varieties) but decent herb selection (maybe like 30?). Shop owner (Tiffany) was so pretentious it literally itched my spirit. Wouldn't give me a 15 minute tarot reading unless it was a "spiritual emergency" or I was being "spiritually attacked" and suggested I go along the strip on Jacksonville of what we all know are mostly unreliable readers. She seemed in a hurry to get to where she was going and left very quickly after that discussion. Reading prices starting at $65 for a 30 minute reading. 15 minute readings are at Tiffany's discretion. Shop assistant had limited knowledge of things being sold in the store and didn't have the answers to many of the questions being asked. Regardless of her lack of knowledge of the store she worked in, she was very eager to help us and very kind. She had a wonderful calming energy about her that led me to the thought she'd medicated prior to working because she was unable to do simple addition to add up our items by hand because the card machine had broken down and she was unable to fix it. Very very nice girl nevertheless. I won't be returning to this location in the future but would recommend to anyone else with such pompous attitude as they'd get along well with Tiffany. The last stop we made on our way out of NOLA was to Elias and his beautiful shop. It's a small storefront in the Marigny that is BIG on authenticity and spirit. Though the on-site selections isn't huge, you can find all the basics here, and Elias will order anything else you may need - which he offered to do for us. Elias himself is very mellow and personable, and he spent a lot of time with us, explaining what he could (he can't give up all of his secrets!) about Gris-Gris bags, their creation, their care and feeding, and he fed them for us right their on the spot with rum and his own oils corresponding to the purpose of the bag. He seems to be the genuine article, and I feel so fortunate that we were able to chat with him before leaving the city. His shop is expertly curated, welcoming, and has a feeling of warmth and knowledge. We also found his Facebook page (by the same Name as the shop), and I'm delighted to find he has some videos up! I am very new to the craft and am eagerly trying to learn as much as I can about multiple traditions, so I'm super excited to get to see more of Elias, his staff, and all that comes to Crescent City Conjure. I was told "one of the best in the country" and had the highest hopes for Sen Elias and Crescent City Conjure!!! I was going through a very tough time in life. I even thought that I was cursed! I called and one of the shop keepers recommended I buy a bunch of items to rid myself of it (which I did and oddly ended up with night terrors for a long time). Things got a little worse and after speaking with Sen, I flew straight to New Orleans and stayed down the street so he could do some sort of ritual on me to get rid of it. Long story short, he sent me to my hotel with a bunch of bath items and a candle to wash and come back to the shop with - dude fled the shop and never showed up again. I went back multiple times as he requested and the shop keeper said he was "out for the day". Terrifying experience as it was my first solo trip anywhere. Long story short, don't buy into this guy. He sells his clients fear and manages to pay his rent with it (and low-key vacations to Europe apparently!) I paid for my life lesson in bullshit, "specialty hoodoo-witchcraft" energy clearings and hopefully yours too!
