The staff is always extremely helpful and very pleasant. The WiFi is plenty fast and there is more than ample seating, if you want to stray from the herd. There is also a quiet reading room with a Keurig, stocked up with plenty of flavors. The front doors sounds like a multiple vehicle pileup when they're opened, but that's the paradoxical part of the quiet library experience, I guess. Still love the place!

They have a great library with alot of connected museums nearby and good flyer management. It's the way of the world now that in this digital age where people are so seperate and distant from eachother, places like the library have to bring back that social connection amongst people cuz without that there really is no valuing of knowledge, even in things like books. Living in Joliet, I didn't expect much from the library system at first. After all, the schools…read moreare lacking, so I assumed the library would be as well. I've been pleasantly surprised! Unlike some libraries, the set up is ideal, so there are quiet spots away from the children's areas and public computers. I'm there a lot writing, and am rarely disturbed by other patrons in the little back area with the study tables. The nonfiction book selection is good; they even have a technical manual that I thought would be hard to find. As a mom, I've also been very pleased with the programming for youngsters! Between 6 and 18 months, it's hard to find activities that are age appropriate, but they have great story time for the little guys! I love the cafe on site. It's rarely too crowded, everyone is friendly, and the coffee is pretty good. My only caveat for this library system is a poor e-book database. However, I'm assuming there's not much of a market for the e-books in the area, but hopefully that will grow as more people adopt the media.

The staff encourages patrons to use the library. They make you feel welcome and comfortable. Recently I was in Tulsa and while perusing a bookstore near my hotel, I purchased a number of books of specific local interest. I then make a list of the other less local books so that I can come to my local library to borrow them. It was refreshing to come into town and need to make a few copies because it gave me a reason to revisit. The best part? The friendly staff, comfortable environment, and abundant resources hasn't changed. What has changed its how much has been updated to accommodate your needs! Although this is a small town, the library has all of the modern necessities to make this a one-stop shop! Grande Prairie is just one of many comforts of home that has maintained it's community appeal and charm! I'm glad the youth of today get to experience one of few community buildings that resonate the togetherness and support of yesterday.
