Superior rooms are quite large and are technically are suites. Reverse cycle air conditioning and fridge come in quite handy. The onsite bar is cosy and apparently the restaurant is supposed to be good as well. Location is on a main street in central Tumut with plenty of parking.

Update 2015. This place has closed. As was inevitable…read more We have been here many times. Well OK, twice. But before it was Beaufort House it was an ice cream and scone place and before that something else. It has never been as funny as this though. There is a suit of armour in the dining room and the owner dresses in scarlet velvet evening dresses with a purple jacket and full 'to the nines' gear. The schnitzels don't fit on the plates, and the plates are huge. The food actually covers the entire plate so you can't tell there is actually a plate there until you make some headway. There is also trout and other Austrian specials like goulash soup and the like. An Austrian restaurant in Adelong, where there are only two pubs but one is still called 'The Middle'. Adelong is struggling but the Beaufort is still going strong- god knows how.
