Took this course at the Metro L.A. location with my daughter so she can volunteer for occupational therapy and I could have the life-saving skill too. The facility was great, and the class was fast, organized, and deeply engaging. The lady who administered the test was helpful, and Fernanda was an exceptional teacher. Perfect spot for first-timers!

Came back to renew my BLS card and this time around I took the class with Fernanda. The class takes up to four hours and it is very informative overall. My arms were sore the next day due to delivering high quality chest compressions on the mannequin. So I'm prepared for a real life situation, hopefully not, but must be ready. It is always helpful to refresh your knowledge and also apply any new changes. Glad to be a returning student here.

This class was amazing! Everything! The whole process was very fast and efficient...& totally organized. (This was in Norwalk!) The police officer helped guide us and the front staff Lucero was sweet and friendly right when I got there. My CPR instructor-Lucy was amazing! She was very professional, she would occasionally say a joke while being serious very knowledgeable about this sort of stuff. She made the class enjoyable! I loved it! Will totally go back if offered again. -Nereida ;)

This was a great experience.I learned a lot, and the instructor was engaging and very knowledgeable. Participants got to ask questions and practice on dummies, which was really helpful. Everyone who loves their families and communities should take this class. The location was a community center and did a wonderful job hosting such a large group.

From the beginning, he was patient, professional, and always willing to answer the many questions I had about transferring credits, financial aid, deadlines, and the BSN program. Transferring schools can be stressful, but David made the entire process much easier. He took the time to explain each step, kept me updated, and made sure I understood what documents I still needed and what my next steps were. Whenever I reached out, he was supportive and genuinely wanted to help me succeed. One thing I appreciated most was that he never made me feel rushed. He answered all of my questions thoroughly and helped me feel confident in my decision to attend West Coast University. Thanks to David's guidance, I'm now getting ready to begin nursing school, and I'm excited for what's ahead. If you're considering West Coast University, I highly recommend asking for David Gallardo. He made what could have been a stressful admissions process feel organized, smooth, and encouraging. Thank you again, David, for all your help and support!

We went through a mock interview where she asked me questions that were very similar to what Cedars Sinai would ask. One thing she immediately noticed was that I had a tendency to ramble. She helped me organize my thoughts so my answers were concise while still covering the important points. She also reminded me not to memorize responses because they can come across as robotic, which was advice that made a big difference during the actual interview. I especially struggled with questions like "Why Cedars Sinai?" and "Why orthopedics?" Rebeka helped me understand how to answer them in a genuine way. Instead of giving a generic response, she encouraged me to talk about Cedars Sinai's values and reputation. She also helped me connect my interest in orthopedics to my passion for caring for the geriatric population, which is something I genuinely enjoy and is very common in orthopedic nursing. Thanks to her preparation and encouragement, I was able to receive an offer from Cedars Sinai as a new graduate RN. I am incredibly grateful for all the time and effort she invested in helping me succeed. If you are a student at West Coast University, I highly recommend taking advantage of Career Services. It was one of the most valuable resources I used during and after nursing school.

I completed the IV Therapy & Blood Withdrawal Certification course at Los Angeles Career College,…read moreand I have to say--this place runs smoother than most hospital floors I've worked on. The staff was organized, check-in was easy, and the hybrid format made the whole process painless (unlike some IV attempts I've witnessed in real life). What really impressed me was how efficient everything was. Once I passed my exam, they handed me my certificate the same day--no waiting, no chasing emails, no mysterious "processing time." Just boom. Certified. I wish everything in healthcare worked that fast. Now for the real highlight: Instructor Steele Erickson. Steele is the kind of nursing instructor you secretly hope for but never expect to get. He breaks down IV therapy and blood withdrawal with such clarity and patience that even tricky techniques suddenly feel manageable. He teaches with a calm, supportive energy that makes everyone relax. He's incredibly knowledgeable, genuinely invested in every student, and somehow keeps the class both educational and entertaining. As someone with 25+ years in healthcare, I can confidently say instructors like Steele do not grow on trees. If you're considering getting your IV Certification, go to Los Angeles Career College and hope you get Steele Erickson as your instructor. You'll walk away confident, competent, and wondering why every nursing class can't be this smooth. Highly recommended!

Life got in the way a couple of times during this portion of the class and I was able to talk to Mika and figure out a plan so that I wouldn't have to miss class. I also loved listening to her real life stories of working in nursing. The course I took was 5 weeks, 8 hours a day. The first two weeks were online. There is a lot of reading, a lot of quizzes, and several tests, but you get the hang of it quickly. The second week was practical where you learned the skills. I got pretty frustrated when I didn't get the skill right the first time, but the fact is that there are a lot of steps to the skills and these are brand new things that I'm learning. It all falls into place when you go into the clinical. You get to apply what you learned in class and in your practical learning. I especially loved my clinical rotations at the hospital. It gave me such a bigger perspective on the healthcare industry and patient care. I learned so much and discovered that I really liked working in ER. I look forward to applying everything I learned in my future career.
