This is about Doctor Hubbard, in Blountstown Fl. I do not know how she is in Panama City with the animals, but I know Doctor Hubbard in Blountstown Critter Care. She needs money and just maybe she uses Blountstown Critter Care to make up for what she can't over charge in Panama City. I know from experience when she charged me $800.00 for a healthy cat named Mo Mo. I am believing when I told her to do what was needed that she would do the decent thing. Well Mo Mo was just fine nothing to worry about. When I saw that amount (still paying on it plus interest) I raised my voice at her and let her know how I felt. Well, she just said to me, You, told me to do what I needed to do! I had an appointment August 21 for my large cat Sam. I just wanted his mouth checked. Well, he had a bad tooth and Doctor Hubbard let me see his mouth and just that one small tooth that needed to come out. Well Doctor Hubbard had Sam taken to the back for a shot of antibiotics. It was because I was going to have that tooth out and he needed it and another later one. Well, as I was in the room waiting, the person who took Sam to the back brought me what Doctor Hubbard was going to do for Sam in taking care of his tooth, did come back to me and gave me a list of things Doctor Hubbard was going to do for Sam. Well, it showed the low and the high cost. Hi cost $753.30 low cost $590.80. Well, the person who brought me those two pages did explain what they were all about. She left me and I was looking over those two pages, when all of a sudden, I saw a different name on that first page. I got up and went into the hallway saying this person's name and who was she? Well, Doctor Hubbard had given me the wrong bill. Well, I got my new bill, and it was a carbon copy of the one to another woman. The only thing was the names. Doctor Hubbard cannot be trusted, and I can only imagine what she thought when I saw what I did. Doctor Hubbard, in Blountstown Critter Care is taking advantage of pet owners. Doctor Hubbard doesn't care about the animal in Blountstown. Like I said, I do not know how she is in Panama City Critter Care, but it is all about the money In Blountstown. I know from past experience that I do not trust her with my pets. I use Care Credit and I feel she takes advantage of this and just would like to know how many people who trust her are paying more to someone who needs money and I feel Blountstown Critter Care. I did make an appointment for Sam's tooth. But going to cancel it Monday. Doctor Hubbard has put down for Sam, so many things that he doesn't need or what I want for now and she knows it. She is good at letting a person know what needs to be done and those who she takes advantage of and not even thinking about their pet's. I brought my cat in for an emergency when we called they said bring him in as soon as I got there they took him to the back for an examination and the Dr. came out a talked to me and she said he will have to stay the night but he ended up staying 3 days and he was healthy again. everyone was friendly and my bill was reasonable. What a great place to take your pet! They were there for me in a time of need and were very friendly and accommodating. The Vet Was great! The place was decorated nicely and had plenty of seating all modern and spacious! Plenty of parking spaces. The prices were very reasonable! When my normal vet couldn't get me in they recommended this place and I couldn't be happier! In fact, I might make them my normal vet because the prices were better and they were more accommodating! Dr Hubbard saved Elizabeth's Life in every sense of the word. Dr Hubbard is extremely knowledgeable, compassionate and she works late in the evening responding to Emergency Walk-ins even when Surgery is necessary. This has never been my own personal experience having utilized many a Veterinarian for the past 35 years as most Vets are under Very Strict Company Policies, Rules and Regulations. However, Dr Hubbard has chosen a Path of Caring and Responding to the Needs and Well Being of the Pet as Dr Hubbard has chosen not to go Corporate. Dr Hubbard and her staff will give thorough and detailed descriptions of your pets health, what to expect during and after surgery as well as an up front detail print out of the possible cost which I find extremely helpful. OH, Dr Hubbard and Critter Care are the Most Reasonably Priced as there is an actual understanding of the cost of all procedures offered as I have actually paid 3xs more for certain services for my Pet Baby. The Receptionists and Vet Technicians are Knowledgeable, Patient and Exceptional at all the Services they provide for your Pet Baby. I would actually leave my Pet Baby boarded at Critter Care which says Volumes as I know she'll be Well Cared for, Played with/Given Attention and Loved and My Pet Baby can be a challenge. Yes, I am Very Pleased with Dr Hubbard, All her Staff and Services at Critter Care as I view going to Critter Care as a Gift/Luxury knowing just how Expensive and Sterile other Environments are for my Pet Baby. read more

Took our cat here for a check up and they sent us away without even getting to speak to the vet. asked about how our cat was and the girl at the front desk seemed annoyed that we were even there and told is we needed to schedule another appointment if we wanted more information about his condition. After this atrocious experience we went to Breeze animal hospital on the beach and they saw him the day of calling. Turns out CRITTER CARE missed stage three kidney disease. Worst service ever. Had wound on dogs elbow sewed up and they shaved all my corgi's legs because they couldn't draw blood. Corgi's hair does not grow back very well so he looks scroungy and the wound never healed. After his surgery he never really acted like himself, he was totally scared mentally to whatever they did to him. Had a problem picking him up for 1100$ and no Dr. spoke to use about anything. When asked the lady told us to calm down as if we were screaming mad or something. 2 months later brought him back because he had been sick ever since surgery. They prescribed 200$ worth of meds and sent us on our way. 2 weeks later they send us a letter saying we can't return there because staff said we were unruly during our visit. I have taken my fur babies to Critter Care for a long time now. My newest baby was just neutered and had nose surgery. He was sent home with no medication for discomfort after two surgeries. The receptionist was rude and messed up the billing. The stitches had to come out and his nose looks horrible. The staff have had problems taking care of my French bulldog properly, others are out right rude and some are just worried about taking pictures of my pup. Out of 8 dogs in 12 years the service in the last 3 years has gone down. to get the stitches out it took 3 hours at the office. I listened to receptionist answer the phone telling fur parents that emergency fees ranged from $30-$150. Depending on who she talked to the fee started at $30 or $50. Sometimes they had no emergency appointments available other phone calls they did. Now I know which client I am when I call. No appointment available for weeks, no emergency appointments. I went in and had them change it back to my name for payments... they told me it was all good and not to worry, now my mom is getting harassing phone calls, and linked my husband with her thinking he's married to my mother.... So disappointed!! I moved here and was searching for a good vet, and Dr. Hubbard came so highly recommended. I trusted her and this vet clinic with my cat and I feel so betrayed. As it happens a lot, my kitty got sick at the worst possible time, while I was unemployed. He was gagging and I didn't know why. I brought him to Dr. Hubbard and she said she would do a scope on him to see if anything was stuck in his throat. I reluctantly agreed to it, afraid of the cost, and was asked to leave him because they were busy that day and couldnt get right to it. I was asked to put down a $300 deposit and the front desk said it shouldn't even be that much and they would refund the difference because I made it very clear to everyone that I was unemployed and could not afford anything major. I left my baby there waiting all day for an update. NEVER GOT ONE. It was almost closing time so I called and called and finally got someone and they told me that the vet did a surgery on my cat and he wasn't recovering great so they were going to keep him overnight. I NEVER AGREED TO ANY SURGERY!! Yet it was done. I tried to get updates for a couple days afterwards and found out the vet never even saw my cat again after the surgery because she was at another office. He was not doing good and I still had no explanation why a surgery was done without my consent. I finally after several days just showed up and demanded to take my cat home. We had since found out the reason for his gagging from another vet that was treated with some simple anti biotics, the surgery was never even needed. Bottom line is, I told at least 5 different people at that office that I was unemployed and that I COULD NOT afford anything at all over the $300 I gave them, yet they still did a surgery and have for months been sending me bills for an additional $600 and now they have sent me to collections. UNBELIEVABLE!!. I have called, written, etc. and asked for a call back to discuss why this should not be charged to me and NO ONE seems to care, but they are sure very quick to send it over to collections. I am NOT paying for a surgery I didn't consent to , that wasn't even needed, and I told them ahead of time I could not afford. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Dr Powell did amazing miracles with my ferrets. She left so I was stuck with Dr Hubbard. My ferret Trixie had beginning cancer but also had an enlarged spine. At first she said she was to weak for the surgery but then 2 weeks later said we need to hurry and remove her spleen. So I brought Trixie in but would not leave her until I talked to Dr Hubbard to make sure she thought she would be strong enough for the surgery. She said definitely yes so l left Trixie and went home. In the middle of the night I got a call from Dr Hubbard saying that Trixie was not doing good. She said I think we should terminate her but the decision is up to me. I said no definitely not, she said well I already gave her some very powerful medications so we will have to see if she will come out of it. She called me at 9am to tell me my beloved Trixie was gone. I went in to pick up my pet carrying bag and they told me it would be over $1000. So basically I spent over $1000 for her to make the decision to terminate my ferret. Before I took Trixie to the surgery she was still quite healthy, she had a large appetite, her stool still looked great and she was very active always being seen cruising around the house. 3 days later and I still can't believe my Trixie is dead. Took my dog to get spayed. They took her back and she was the last appointment of the day. My husband went to pick her up and they gave him and extra charge. They claimed my dog was in heat. I guess they think their customers are stupid and try to take advantage of them. My dog just had an ultrasound app on Oct 4th due to a pregnancy scare. She wasn't pregnant thankfully but she was in heat (all signs, swollen bits, bleeding, "playful" with our neutered male dog) 3 weeks prior. My husband has had these dogs and bred them the majority of his adult life. He is very knowledgeable about his dogs and knows the breed goes into heat every 6 to 9 months and knows the dates of her prior heats. They are basically saying my dog was in "heat" but was showing ZERO symptoms and she has a 2 month heat cycle (impossible). The doctor who did her surgery had already went home for the night so my husband explained this to the technician and she told him that you can't tell when a dogs in heat besides bleeding and to "have a nice day", sending him on his way. Never EVER take your animal to these people, they are deceitful!!! read more

I have filed a complaint with BBB about how they basically were the cause of my dog's death! I've spent nearly $2,000 between a splenectomy done last June (the only one that was successful, was $1,500 and paid in full!), and 2 surgeries back to back a week apart the first of November for a sebaceous cyst that became infected that I wish I had never taken him to cause he went downhill so fast I had to have him put down February 2! I'm still not over it cause he should still be alive! I even sent them a letter with what I had posted on BBB and I just received another letter from them (Critter Care) with NO condolences, just thanking me for sending them a small check for what I feel was a justified amount considering how much I've put out to THEM, not to mention paying to have him put down with Panhandle Mobile Vet ($200 and the gentleman was most empathetic and kind, unlike these people!) and telling me to to "continue making monthly payments...we appreciate it)!!! I'm still in mourning for my dog and firmly believe THEY should at least write off the remaining $203.07 as they nearly put my bank account in the red! I still am trying to build my bank account back up! I plan on posting this review on every review board online that I can so no one else goes through this. I took my cat here about a month ago for a check up and his right eye was a little oozy so I asked Dr Hubbard to look at it. She looked at it through the cage and told me she couldn't get a good look at it so she would have to give him some sedation to get a good look at it and asked me to leave him there and it would only take a couple hours. 5 hours later I called to check on him. By this time they were almost closed. She said I could come and pick him up. When I saw him he was very out of it still and was covered in blood! I was very shocked and asked what happened?! She said he had a difficult time waking up from the anesthesia that he was clawing on the cage trying to "get at them"! So they just left him in the cage. When I got home and started to clean him up he had cuts all over his paws and had to get a bath because there was more blood than I thought. He was crying in pain and I was furious with how they treated him. By this time it was 7pm and they were closed. They only gave him antibiotic drops, which could have been given without having to put him under. I am never stepping foot in this place and I would advise you not to take your babies there. After my experience I looked on yelp to leave a review and was horrified to see these post. I took my 40 lbs dog here since he sliced his back paw open in the bay on a rock or an oyster shell, and this place was chaotic . I don't know if it was the nurse or doctor but she just came out in the "waiting room" took off the bandage I put on him cut it open said yup needs stitches and charges us $45 for "evaluation" then they quoted me $260 for stitches and the whole procedure but tried charging me $360 at the end. We got charged $18 for a cone and $18 for the dressing of the stitches . His cone was too small and his dressing was off two hours after we took him home and his stitches fell apart . Huge waste of money and pain on my dog when we have to start all over again. Front desk personnel can be quite rude especially when they have made an error but would prefer to blame you. How do you book so many people for an appt at the same time, when your waiting room has very little room. Your front desk says nothing but hands you a sheet to sign in. Rude! Never again! Our two purebred Great Pyrenees dogs (male & female) were taken from our street. We picked them up in Blountstown 30 miles away from their home. We live on 25 acres and have animals that our dogs attend to. The Great Pyrenees are known to explore their surroundings. When they did not come home one evening (March 1st), I put up posts on various pet lost-and-found sites and stated that they were lost, but chipped. I updated this post a couple of times based on inquiries of concerned people who lived in the area, asking where they were last seen. It was not until I added the information stating that the female needed daily seizure medication, that I received a call on Sunday telling me that they were at Critter Care Animal Clinic in Blountstown. I called Critter Care on Monday asking if my Great Pyrenees were there. The person answering the phone stated yes. I then stated, "I assume you know that their names are Lexi and Sami". The person said yes. I told them we would be there to pick them up. When we arrived to pick them up we were told by the receptionist at Critter Care that the veterinarian found them on XXX road I told her "that's where they live." She stated that they ran in front of her vehicle, so she picked them up and brought them to Critter Care in Blountstown. Our dogs (Great Pyrenees in general) do not run in traffic. She also stated that they gave both of them five shots each which included a rabies vaccine and it would cost me the discounted rate of $95.00. I asked why they gave them shots. I stated that their shots were current, and they were chipped. She stated that they checked for chips and didn't find any. At that point, I didn't say anything else because I started listening to her. She said "you see these two dogs here? We found them also. We checked for chips and gave them shots too". "We give all the dogs we bring in shots". (the dogs were a beautiful young caramel-colored Pitbull (very friendly) and beautiful young jet-black lab). After we left, we took our dogs to our veterinarian. They scanned and immediately found the chips and the documented paperwork regarding location of chips and when they were placed. Here are my issues, (1) our dogs had collars...she as a veterinarian was in a neighborhood and didn't ask neighbors about them before taking them 30 miles away; (2) Our dogs' eyes had been bleeding, which we have been told is consistent with Petechial Hemorrhaging. It appears that they had been noosed and forcibly restrained in the effort to take them. (3) Lexi and Sami were given needless shots, due to Critter Care Animal Clinic's unnecessary and questionable removal of Lexi and Sami from their home area (despite both dogs wearing their collars) and Critter Care Animal Clinic's professional failure to find the ID chips which were in a very common place on Lexi and Sami. This entire situation is quite unusual. After having placed multiple electronic and printed notices requesting any information about the Lexi and Sami, I received the information as to their whereabouts from someone who knew that Critter Care Animal Clinic was in possession of Lexi and Sami. I have some concerning questions. If the doctor was the person who removed Lexi and Sami from their home area some 30 miles from her practice, why were we called by someone other than the person who'd taken them? How did the caller know where the dogs were? We had not seen any posts with information about them and their present location. Upon my call to Critter Care Animal Clinic, the person answering the phone appeared to already know the names of the collared and chipped dogs. We were still not contacted by them. WE HAD TO CALL THEM. I also find it very curious that ONLY after I added the information to the posts about the medical condition of the female who was prone to seizures and required daily medication, did we learn any information. I believe that this additional information is why my dogs are now back at home. Many people use their pets as emotional support animals. Pets are like family and are used to help so many people. It would be very traumatic if their pets were taken. I think Critter Care Animal Clinic does not deserve the designation of "Care" if they are removing animals in an improper manner to a location 30 miles from their home areas and refusing to release them until they are paid for unsolicited and necessary treatment. There are several things I like about critter care; the vet techs and vet are very nice, and the atmosphere of the business is very homey. They are very experienced, and all of the animals I have brought there have gotten excellent care. HOWEVER, there are two things that irk me; the wait time (despite having an appointment) and the pricing (ESPECIALLY when it comes to cremation). I once waited an entire hour just to get my dog his needed shots, and my other dog had to wait in the car with my mom the whole time. While this particular instance wasn't scheduled, i have had others where it took nearly that long, even with an appointment. However, what really got to me was the last interaction I had. About a week ago, my rat was very sick; breathing heavily, laying on his side, not eating. Once the last symptom came around, I knew it would be best if he were euthanized. However, when I contacted critter care, they said it would be 75$ JUST for the euthanization, and another 190$ for the cremation and return. Now, the last rat I had passed away a couple months prior. We payed the 190$, and it was literally a cheap plastic bag twist tied and placed in a paper mache box. In addition, his name on the clay paw print and certificate were spelled wrong by ONE letter. It's a simple 5 letter name, not that hard to spell. So, not worth what they want for the service. We couldn't afford the meds needed to get him better, and he was over two years old anyhow. So I had to wait another three days and watch helplessly before his suffering finally ended. I wasn't going to write a review initially, but this experience hasn't left my mind since it happened. I could let the first one slide, but I couldn't believe they wanted THAT MUCH just so I could end my poor fur baby's suffering. I will continue to take my animals here, but I will be going to parkway to get them cremated or euthanized, because the hassle I went through with critter care was ridiculous and entirely too stressful, for both me and my rat. read more

I brought my 7yr old dog in on a Saturday because she suddenly couldn't walk. I was delighted with the care she received. The vet saved me the cost of an un-necessary x ray, gave us some medicine and the bill was very reasonable. I've been using Critter Care ever since. The staff is caring, reception has always been very polite. I love that they are open until 6pm and have Saturday hours at regular price. They also offer a discount on shots on Saturdays. He had been bit by a venomous snake and the first vet I took him to did not do their due diligence, even though my pet had been a pt for 8 years. I have to take a minute and thank this wonderful lady named Dr. Hubbard. She has literally saved all of my dogs lives. I have 3 dogs, my eldest dog got knocked up by a foster dog and went into labor. Dr. Hubbard came to her rescue and performed an emergency cesarean and delivered her puppy. Well, almost a year later that same puppy got hit by a car in my neighborhood and needed emergency care. I took her to the emergency vet in Niceville, they took one xray and had her on fluids and it was $400 for about 2 hours of care. They wanted to keep her overnight and it was going to be over $1000 up front without treatments of any sort. I cannot afford anything like that, so I declined their treatment and went home. The next afternoon her temperature dropped so I immediately went to Critter Care and as soon as I walked in you could feel the love in the place. The technicians were incredibly kind and Dr. Hubbard came out of surgery to evaluate the seriousness of my puppies situation. She took xrays and could immediately see her hip broken in 3 places, but could not see her kidneys, bladder, and liver. She said that something was leaking inside of my baby and if she didn't get in there and figure it out, my puppy was going to die. She immediately took her into surgery and found that her bladder and her kidney had ruptured and she had over a quart of urine in her chest cavity. She stitched her up and kept her overnight. My little girl is now running and playing almost as if nothing happened. I cannot express how grateful I am to this lady for everything her and her staff have done for me and my babes. She also treated my boy dog for a stroke. He had his 2nd stroke within a year and I thought I was going to have to put him down. They kept him for 2 days, pumped him with fluids and good medicine and now my fat boy is running and playing as if nothing happened. She has saved all my dogs and is just the kindest lady.
