Hired Crockett to replace my vinyl siding with HardiePlank prefinished siding. What a got was a crew that from the start did not know how to correctly install this product!. After 7 years we had product failure, water leaks, water damage! We only received a partial refund from Crockett because they are now saying thay will only install vinyl siding, so they refunded what vinyl would cost, not what we had paid out for the failed install of a better product. I have had to hire a QUALIFIED contractor to basically start over and reinstall a quality siding, not vinyl by the way, on our home. Stay clear if you don't want problems! read more

I needed a one car garage closed in and finished on the inside to use as a sewing studio. I have used some smaller contractors on other projects and did get quotes from them. I read positive reviews on the Crockett website and thought I would be safe with them. They were the highest of three quotes. I thought that would translate to better quality and better schedule. They started in April 2021. The contract said six weeks. I don't have the patience to list all the issues.... They finished in August 2022. One week after they finished, I had my long arm quilting machine moved into that space. When it was plugged in, the breaker blew and every computer board in the machine fried. Nothing but amateurs! I held this review because I was told, by somebody working for Crockett, that they were going out of business. I am not surprised that my relationship with them ended in a lie. We signed a contract to remodel our only bathroom. Initially they promised to complete the bathroom in two weeks. Not being naïve, I assumed it would take a month. One year later we settled without the bathroom really being complete. This project was marred by incompetence. The first crew had intra-crew drama that we got sucked into. After that, we never knew who was coming or when. Weeks would pass with no work. In the meantime, we had plumbing emptying into buckets, pipe stubs for taking baths but no functioning shower, and half-finished tile. One would think that a contractor with 40 years of experience would know how to set a traditional subway tile pattern. Not the case. Tile had to come off the walls three times (not to mention the time they put the wrong grout color in, tried to grind it out, and ended just scratching all the tiles). Same with the floor tile, which also had to be lifted three times. Incompetent mud and paint crews. This bathroom had to be tapped, mudded, and painted multiple times because the contractors apparently didn't know how to mud and sand a smooth tape seam. They seemed incapable of getting the shower riser straight when I could clearly see the fix. They blamed the slow pace of supply chain problems. However, the contractor we hired to do our kitchen at the same time completed their work according to the agreed upon schedule--no supply-chain excuses there. They didn't respect our house; we had sheet rock mud and paint on the floors and on our furniture. Drop cloths seemed to be an alien concept to these folks. In sum, if you want incompetent people tearing into your house, then, by all means, Crockett is for you. read more

Living in the Galax, VA area I didn't have a whole lot of options as far as roofers go, so I went with Crockett. Yes, the price was high, but as I said not a lot of options here. They did the work in a timely manner and it took only a day to perform the work. What I didn't like is that they didn't do the job correctly the first time and had to come out, tear off part of the roof and redo it. Still, after doing the work twice, there's still a dip in the sheathing underneath the shingles. Overall, a below average job for a premium price. Not happy. read more

I feel the other reviewer's frustration in my bones! Almost 4 years ago, we needed to get our roof completely replaced as it was causing major water damage. We were desperate and Crockett was there to turn around the project quickly. I would have given them 5 stars for that. However, every year since then, they have had to do some minor repairs because things (mostly shingles) weren't holding up (aka shingles kept flying away). Now, we have water damage again in a specific spot because the work wasn't properly done. I was told by their team the job was done "perfectly", but they knocked off a 3rd of the price because they "understood my frustration". Ummm...if the job was done "perfectly", why do we do I have to contact them annually? Anyways, I signed the contract, they cashed my check, and then - nothing. I've had to contact Crockett several times, and each time I am given a date, and then they don't show up. Which I would be fine with, except they won't contact me to let me know the reason or when they will come out again. I've literally been chasing after this company for TWO months now, just seeking information. I've been mansplained to and laughed at, and yet still can't get them to schedule a time to do a small amount of work. Now, I have MORE water damage that will likely cost even more money and time. If you live in the Blacksburg/Christiansburg area, find another roofer, you will get better results! read more
