A lovely little hidden gem located on the property of the museum of decorative art. It's very small inside with a great outdoor seating area. The good was fresh and very yummy. The fresh squeezed orange juice is so good as is the cafe con leche. Don't miss eating the medilunas warm!!

3 mini burgers... Good but too much bread

This is a very, very cute place and I recommend going on a nice day so that you can enjoy the outdoor seating (also, there are very few tables indoors)!! The waitstaff were kind, the menu options were plentiful, and our meals were pretty good. They weren't amazing (maybe 3.5 out of 5 stars), but the ambience made up for it. My friends' salads were good and the Croque Madame, an egg-in-a-hole toasted ham sandwich that brought me back to the days my mom used to make me breakfast, was rich and buttery. I got the 3 mini burgers and they were just average... I think the bread to meat ratio was too high! The food prices were kinda high, but in general this place is lovely for refreshments. I definitely recommend checking out the Museo de Arte Decorativo afterwards- it opens at 2 and the entrance fee is low.

DIVINE croque Madame with mushroom creme

After a beautiful afternoon tour of the Museum, we stopped at the wonderful croque Madame for some down time. The cafe is a slice of Paris right in Argentina and the bistro style menu is wonderful. The pâte served at the beginning was very tasty and though service seemed a little frazzled at first, they were very good with their recommendations. I ordered the Mushroom creme Croque Madame, which was divine! My partner enjoyed a sundried tomato and something else sandwich, which we both loved. All in all, I would love to return to this cafe when I come back to Buenos Aires! And I highly recommend it!

I heard from my sister that this is a place with small plates of food, just perfect for me that I eat 3 onz of food every 3 hours. We ordered as appetizer 9 little pies with different flavors, squash, onions, ham&cheese, crab and others. I was almost full bu then because I ate a piece of each one. My less favorite was the one with squAsh. I ordered the chop suey with chicken. I liked it but is not something that I would eat again. Chop suey originals is made with not so much peppers because it makes the plate to bitter. A few onions and chicken in small-tiny-round portions. It was more peppers in oil/butter than an original recipe called chop suey. My son ordered a chicken with creamy rice in green sauce. The sauce was okay but the chicken was over cooked, it was too dry. In a plate like this, so creamy, the chicken might be better if its cooked in slow cooker and then barely grilled with some garlic. The chicken itself didn't have a lot of flavor. The salad was great, it was rich in veggies and the vinaigrette was really good, based in dijon and honey. I think this salad missed avocado, but it might get too classic like that. The waiter, principal key in my review, was patient, gave us good recommendations, and nice. We left him a tip but it looks like he was not expecting it. Water is not free, I don't know if its in all Argentina but everywhere we go, they serve us bottles of mineral water when we order a cup of water. In the US water is free. The dessert which is my favorite part in the meals was just perfect. Not too sweet, not too flavorless. The volcano chocolate cake was served in an orange sauce that gave a delicious bitter taste to my bite. Too expensive perhaps, but I will go back because the place itself is well located and fresh, just perfect for a spring afternoon.

Our Tour Guide recommended this spot and worked out as it was near the last stop of our Excursion…read more Plenty of in/outdoor seating and they were busy around 1:30 on a Friday. Self seating and we waited about 5 minutes before a table opened up outside next to the Gomero de la Recpoleta (massive rubber tree). We've come to accept that slower service is part of the process in this city and no exception here. Our waiter, who seemed to have been working here (along with many of his colleagues) for some time came out after a bit of time to drop off menus. (dressed in throwback/formal Server uniforms which was a nice touch.) The options are endless and we were a bit overwhelmed but quickly focused on the Milanese as this was the dish we were looking to try. You can order what appeared to be a combo which includes drinks (coffee/soft drink etc) and dessert which we thought we did. We ordered a Milanese and Neapolitan Milanese. Sides were fries on one and salad on the other. Enjoyed the Neapolitan as it came with tomato sauce and cheese. Salad was tasty. Milanese was okay. We did pair them with an Imperial Lager (local draft) that came out in a cool mug. We weren't offered the dessert option and didn't bother to ask as we needed to leave. Service was friendly and engaged and, as mentioned, slower so make sure you have time. Located in Recoleta, the oldest restaurant (over 150 years old) in Buenos Aires with a good mix of Locals and Tourists and a good one for a taste of Buenos Aires.

Stopped by La Biela and grabbed a table on the iconic patio overlooking the famous gomero tree…read more It's a classic spot with a relaxed, old-school vibe. You pretty much grab a table when one opens up, and depending on timing, you might end up sharing. Service is very laid back, with staff floating around in no real rush, which fits the atmosphere. Ordering iced coffee took a minute until I landed on "cafe frío," but once that was sorted, it hit the spot. It's less about the food or drinks and more about soaking in the setting, so soak away and enjoy.
