During consultation he sold a great story, made me feel comfortable, I explained my current situation which was very stressful at the time... once I hired him I felt I had to constantly seek updated and ask for expected timelines, and documents. once he was paid in full he instructed me to call the courts for the dismissal paperwork after a month of him stringing me along with responses like "I haven't got it yet, I'll send it to you soon" etc which sounds like he is who would send me the final documentation. no one wants to need a lawyer but its good to have a good one you can trust. It's really odd why 90 reviews are not recommended; however I am a real person that can describe my personal experience with this attorney. I had a lawsuit filed against me by Paternaude and Felix, who filed lawsuits on behalf of Capital One. They alleged I owed 3000 dollars. I came across Crosby Conolly because I received a letter in the mail from his law firm that I may have been sued. I researched this attorney prior to calling him .There is an LA Times article that accuses this attorney and the firm he was previously associated with of debt related "ambulance chasing", meaning checking dockets for people being sued by creditors and soliciting them. Crosby Connolly defended himself in this article by stating many people appreciate knowing they may have been sued because they often don't know. He is right. I hadn't been served by Capital One's attorneys and his letter actually gave me a warning. I searched my name in public court records and found the lawsuit. I had previously procured 3 attorneys to help me with issues related to a divorce. Mr. Connolly was my.4th. The situation made me extremely angry and bitter that my financial life had been so strained by my ex, and I was scared and wanting resolution. I contacted Mr. Connolly and he helped me to settle with Capital One. Let me break down the process. I signed a contract and paid approximately 550 for him to settle the debt. He waited to negotiate until December...I don't know why. Ultimately, he began to negotiate the debt and I settled it at 2100 dollars with an agreement to have the lawsuit dropped with prejudice. Therefore, I spent approximately 2600+ to settle the debt. I see some people complaining that they felt he did not negotiate well for them and what was the point of hiring an attorney if they didn't save a significant amount of money. I don't know to what extent it is true. Perhaps in my case the opposing council wouldn't budge. In addition, having dealt with 4 attorneys now they are not cheap. 550 for limited legal representation is fair. Here are some points that I feel made it worth it for me to use Mr. Connolly: Not being personally served Being protected from having Capital One or their attorneys contact me Not having to go to court Making sure the agreement presented to me was legally binding and having recourse if they do not adhere to the agreement. Avoiding paying attorneys or other excess punitive fees. Hopefully this detailed reviewed will help others who find themselves in this same situation. read more

As time moves on Mr. Connolly will wash his hands of you unless you're paying him but even if you are it does feel like he's on the side of the collection/finance company because at first he'll say he can get a settlement of such and such but it ends with you being between a rock and a hard place. Even though I told Mr. Connolly I couldn't afford the offer I have no other choice but to end up with a judgement which is what happened and even then he wouldn't answer my questions on what to expect to happen. For this lawsuit all he did was to get me a payment plan I could not afford. I am now fully disabled and have zero income. This lawyer was advertising to low income people and making it sound like he could help you with getting what you owed knocked down but this never happened for me and once my payments and case was done with the pitiful resolution he wouldn't offer any advice at all! Basically he acts like he cares about helping you get some affordable solution but once you're suckered in, he doesn't do a good job. My first review was before I saw the true him.
