I had a horrible experience with East West Mortgage. Two of the underwriters were working on my…read morefile. They duplicated calls to me, never had the information or "numbers" for me. One of the underwriters stated his coworker didn't know what he was doing and he found my file just lying around. Then when it came to closing we were promised no more than $5200.00 would be due at closing. The morning of the closing we were told $7500.00. We withdrew from any commitment. The whole process took one month, when they promise to close in 14 days or they will pay your fist three months mortgage. Yeah right.

There is ZERO communication not only within this company but with the customer. He often hit reply, rather than "reply all" making communication and keeping everyone in the loop difficult, and adding delays. Delayed our tight deadline by starting to drafting a 7 year ARM for us (that we never asked for. We wanted a 30 year). Often would take days to respond. "Overnighted" us packages that took four days to get there. Lied about what time he got documents. Cost us an 1/8th of a percentage point because of delays and speed bumps in communications, and nearly cost us our deposit because of dishonestly relating the time frame he needed to get things together. Was generally a stressful situation. Would not use again. Got locked into using them by our real estate agent (another story of its own). Would not deal with again.
