The initial booking process was professional, and I particularly appreciated the honesty when they called me well in advance to correct a mistake on their initial quote. Unfortunately, this positive start did not last. The main issues began on the day of the MOT and service. A misunderstanding over the 8 am appointment time, which was not clarified in the text reminder I received, meant I arrived later than expected. I am happy to own my part in that delay; however, the reaction I received from one of the mechanics was completely unprofessional. Rather than explaining the situation, he was visibly angry, repeatedly checked his watch, and spoke to me in a condescending tone that made me feel incredibly unwelcome. This is not how any customer should be treated. The most significant failure, however, was the complete breakdown in communication later in the day. After approving necessary repairs, I was left waiting for an update. I received no calls at all towards the end of the day. It was only at 5:30 pm, after the reception and workshop staff had apparently gone home, that another employee fortunately thought to check and call me to say my car was still on the ramp and would not be ready. To be left without my car overnight, with no warning whatsoever from the team responsible, is simply unacceptable. The car was ready the next morning, and the final repair work seems fine. However, even the complimentary car wash was symbolic of the lack of care shown--it was a poor effort that failed to remove simple surface dirt. While the reception staff were friendly and the work was eventually completed, the stressful encounter with the mechanic and the shocking lack of end-of-day communication mean I cannot recommend this garage. A business is only as strong as its weakest link, and unfortunately, the disorganisation and unprofessional attitude here overshadowed any positives.

John is a friendly guy and when I was having problems with the electrics on my car on Saturday, I called up and he was more than happy if I ran it down for him to give it a good looking over. Turned out it was a blown fuse that was easily replaced within 10 minutes and with me fully expecting to pay to have it fixed he gave it to me for free and said no probs. This is the sort of great local business still out there and I'll definitely still keep going here for the great service and great MOT's.

WILL NEVER AGAIN USE THIS GARAGE My car was booked in for a…read moreSaturday (Booked in advance) And was told I will have it back by noon. Was told someone will collect my car around 09.00-09.15. By 10.45 I phoned the garage and was told someone is on the way, about 30 minutes later someone came to collect the car and was told you'll have it back in a couple of hours. (It will be sorted) !!! The phrase "It will be sorted" was used a lot. By around 4pm I phoned the garage to find out where my car was and was told someone will phone you back ! Just after 4pm I got a call from the garage owner informing me they had sent the wrong part (Both n/s & o/s work was being done) one side was ok, the other side was wrong - I will have to put the old part back on... give me 30 minutes and you'll have it back. My car was delivered back to me after 5pm, the mechanic who brought it back said the garage owner will phone you first thing on the Monday morning to "get it sorted" Monday morning came with no phone calls ! Mid morning I phoned the garage, the owner was not in (He was in a meeting) The mechanic said he will try and "Sort it" in the afternoon when a ramp was free, he also said the correct part had come in. After 12 I phoned again, The mechanic said the owner was not in and won't be in today for personal reasons, I will try and get it sorted this afternoon. I told the mechanic I need to know when it will be done, yet again "It Will Be Sorted" was used again. I had things myself to do that day and told the garage I will give it till 3.30pm. Yet again I phoned the garage around 4pm needing to know when (It will get sorted) I was told bring it down next morning (Tuesday) and we will squeeze it in to get the job done "Don't worry it will be sorted" I explained I needed it done as I was going away on the Thursday. Tuesday morning came and I arrived at the garage at 10am, the owner of the garage was in the reception and told me I have just left you a voicemail about an hour ago "Stating he couldn't do it today, they had sent the wrong part (again) ! we will phone you later to arrange to get it done. Frustrated I left and went home, yes there was a message left (30 minutes ago, not an hour- as I was still home an hour ago). At the end of the message the owner added Don't phone us, we will phone you to get it sorted. At around 5pm on Tuesday with no phone calls from the garage I phoned them and was told Bring it down first thing tomorrow (Wednesday) we will get it sorted...... I reminded them again I was away on Thursday so definitely needed it done. Don't worry it will be sorted !!!!! Wednesday morning came I dropped my car at the garage at 08.30. Gave the keys to the owner and told him I need it back by noon (As I had to be somewhere at 01.50pm) - IT WILL BE DONE BY 12 "He said" I got a phone call just before 12, your car is done, I'm just doing the paperwork. It will be ready in 10 minutes. "I was cheeky and asked will I get any discount" for all the inconvenience. Was told 'No' we have had to cancel other jobs to get yours done, it has cost us money she said, it was the suppliers fault !!! OK - No harm in asking anyway. I got to the garage at 12noon, and was told it will be ready in 10 minutes (take a seat whilst you wait)..... and wait..... and wait till eventually it was ready around 12.45pm. WHAT AN EXPERIENCE - NEVER AGAIN - JUST HOPE THE JOB WAS DONE PROPERLY.

In a day and age where it seems car repairs are all about add ons and mechanics taking you for a ride (pun intended), it's amazing to find a local place that are 100% honest. I took my trusty little Seat in to Church Wharf as I needed to swap out my speedometer (EU form) for a new one (UK Form). They went through the process of taking my car apart, probably a good hour, only to then realise the new part I'd given them was wrong and wouldn't fit. They promptly called me, put it all back together and charged me diddly squat for doing so. After this, they went out of their way to source the correct part, at no additional cost or benefit to them, and made an effort to fit me in as soon as possible to get the work done as they knew I was in a hurry. The truly unbelievable service from these guys was topped off when my total bill came to £90 including VAT. To make this much effort for a £90 job is fantastic and they deserve a 6th star if I could give it to them. Tom and the lads here are brilliant and will take care of you for sure!

They are equipped for most vehicle work; while I was waiting a floor panel was being welded to a family saloon, with all precautions taken to avoid marking the car interior. I spent the time with the mechanic, but the garage also has a viewing area with coffee available for those who don't want to watch. I would recommend this place to anyone needing any work done on their car or van.

They are always accomdating to your needs, they will do there best to fit you in at a time thats convienent, and get you the best possible deal on the parts, or things your car needs. I also have recomended this garage to my friends and family. You will find it just outside the town centre. It feels like a small business where the customers come first and i believe this garage is busy because customers that are happy pass the details on ie word of mouth . Mr Oates was quite happy to "take a look" and quickly found out what the problem was, then gave me good advice on how best to proceed. I was kept informed at all stages and no unnecessary work was carried out. I shall be returning whenever I have problems in the future.

It makes you feel important as a customer and valued as well. The prices are reasonable and the garage lads are very polite, even taking the time to explain what work needs doing and the reasons why that work is necessary. This is great, as sometimes it can be a bit daunting when your a woman who is not very mechanically minded! They said it could be done at 8am one morning while I wait and would be max 40 mins. Arrived at garage 0755. Was told they couldn't fit me in but they could send me to another garage to have MOT done only (couldn't fully check brakes). Was given some vague directions, not even able to pint it out on google maps. Went straight there. Seen quickly but due to delay in starting I left late which impacted on my day. Will now have to book second trip to different garage to get brakes looked at. If you value your time go elsewhere
