She immediately went to the counter so we could purchase it. The women there were so kind with her, asking about her purchase and her name. They were so touched by her story that they decided to gift it to her for Christmas! We were shocked! We were in the store for a brief amount of time, but that visit will leave a long-lasting impression on her and us. As the clerk did not offer further assistance, I reached up to undrape the sweater from a t-shirt so that my friend could try it on. When I did so, the clerk came running across the store screeching, "Don't mess up my display!" I'm sorry, but I thought the purpose of a store that sells clothing was to entice customers to come in, try on the merchandise, and then buy it. If that's the case, someone should educate the clerk with the abrasive customer service skills. I will NEVER return to this store!

My family didn't notice, but I personally heard the employee say, "They need to leave," in a very rude and disrespectful tone while we were still inside. They changed the sign from 'Open' to 'Closed' while I was still inside the store, which made me feel like I was being rushed out and was not welcome there. Overall, it was not a great experience. I understand wanting to close up for the night, but there are much more respectful and professional ways to communicate that to customers. It definitely left a bad impression, especially while we were visiting on vacation.

We happened across this quaint wonderful little store as we were exiting the candle shop. He said, let's go in and look around. Inside we were greeted by the most wonderful father and daughter team. We were lucky enough that one of their gems dealers was in town for that weekend only. I was able to find a beautiful, vintage sapphire stone in an heirloom piece of jewelry. Long story short, I fell so much in love with it that my husband bought and it and it became the center of my engagement ring. I get more compliments than you can imagine on the work and setting they created for me. Truly one of a kind. Keep in mind this is everything that a jeweler should be. Many of them are handmade pieces, crafted with the most loving of care. This is not a chain; this is a family owned business. You will not find a better jeweler anywhere. They are the epitome of the jewelry craft in my opinion. We will be visiting Blowing Rock this fall sometime to see the changing of the colors and I will be sure to stop in again.
