Brush Creek Park - Fishing berm below dam

It sits at the base of the dam and has a campground section and a day use section. This review is mainly for the campground section. It's a pretty park but when we first arrived we weren't sure what to make of it. Grass looked like it hadn't been mowed in quite a while but it was mowed while we were there which really improved the appearance. The inner circle of campsites all have full hookups and the outer circle has water and electricity. We were pretty surprised to see so many who "live" within the system. One camper told us folks go between this park and another park every 14 days. A school bus even comes to take the kids who "live" here to school. Our first night we were on the outside loop and next to one group who played the bass music. Ugh. Where was the host? We had no clue. Yes, there is a camp host or volunteer. In the 5 days we were there we saw him once. A couple of times we went looking for him and never could find him. His site needs to be cleaned up. Stuff is stacked all over. We've never seen that in a COE park either. It was a good place to stay though while weather passed over and would stay again. The park area is nice but think a little more oversight is needed and a little clean-up. I would probably rate the park itself a 4 star but the clutter from the host site and lack of his availability, I moved it down a notch.

When we found Evergreen RV Park, we knew we had found the right spot. The onsite manager is available and attentive to the residents' needs. The owner is nearby and visits the RV park regularly. We felt that my husband's mother would be well taken care of - and the site was near enough to us that we could get there quickly in case of emergency. If you are looking for a short-term stay or long-term situation, I definitely recommend Evergreen RV Park!

Knowing my husband couldn't drive any further that night, I had no choice but to register. When I went into the clubhouse to use the bathroom. it's nothing but a trashy trailer. Also, as I'm recovering from an auto accident, the handicap ramp was blocked off, making it more difficult for me to enter. The restrooms/showers (there are only two) were absolutely disgusting and filthy. Further, there was no hand soap nor paper towels or dryers for drying hands. I could not wait to leave this place. Lastly, the gravel site for our small RV was adequate as we only needed electric. That is the only reasonable thing I can say about Evergreen RV Park.

Getting to the lake was a little crazy and there were no clear posted signs where to turn. The road from one point off Rt 66 was ROUGH and NARROW. For our first time pulling our camper it was 4 miles of stress. We always leave the site cleaner than how we found it. That being said we found lots of broken glass on the beach and trash. Lots of stickers in the grass. Overall the campground was clean. Restrooms and bath houses were in general clean. No real doors to speak of. they used shower curtains which were torn making it awkward to use the restroom or shower. I would not reserve site 20 or 21. #20 has a lot of wash out and was not level. #21 was a little better. #22 &#23 were much flatter and would be easier to level your camper on. We reserved online and according to the site it was full and site picking was slim. When we arrived there were 10-15 total campsites occupied...maybe? So I would not trust the site. I would suggest calling if you are interested in a particular site. We did not have a boat and did shore fishing with no luck. Lots of turtles. There were large boats on the water and personal water craft. Water was on opposite side of camper. We had to go to walmart and get a longer hose. The water had great pressure so be sure you get a regulator. I would also suggest bringing water to make coffee or cook with or use an intake filter. Just smells a little but not terrible. I just didn't like the way my coffee tasted. I don't think we will return based on sites, navigation and price. $20+ with no septic.
